I waited two hours to be treated to substandard painful service where I was cut on my left big to. within two weeks I was diagnosed with ainfected toe, put on ten days of antibiotic. the podiatrist removed part of the mail and will have to remove the whole nail next week so she can see how deep the infection is. when I went back to report the inciden, Tina lied and said she did not cut me. the manager said I could have gotten an infection any. other method and offered me $25 for my trouble. do yourself a favor: If you care about your health, don't want to lose a body part or a nail, and don't want to deal with nasty, disrespectful people, avoid this unsanitary environment. read more

Nail salons have a stiff competition in the neighborhood with a salon every other block. So happy I stumbled across Diamond Pretty. It's no frills but they have a huge selection of gel colors and adornments like sequins. My technician did a beautiful pastel French gel set and had really good attention to detail. I also loved the handy (haha) curing lights that were built into the desks. Gel acrylic French set was $75 and I believe regular polish refills are only $28-30. It's a very good deal! read more

They use a lining bag to place in the tub for pedicures. When it was time for my manicure, I showed the nail tech a photo of what I wanted, and she proceeded to follow. I don't get acrylic nails often, so I was pretty indecisive about little things here and there. The nail tech was super patient when I asked if she could make changes. Overall: Would not come back. Mani/pedi looked like a middle schooler did it. Messy and incomplete. See photos of manicure for reference. Pedicure: This was okay. On closer inspection, the layers were uneven. Slivers on most of my side toenails were unpainted. I didn't notice this because when looking from faraway, it looked painted from above. Manicure: Horrendously done. She left nail polish smudges all over my fingers and hands. I repeatedly asked manicurist to paint the sides of my nails. Each time, she painted another layer and left the sides completely unpainted. I tried to fix it myself, but I gave up telling her to correct it after the third time. I removed the manicure when I went home. "Fixing"/filing nails - extra fee: Do not even bother paying for this service. After I removed my manicure, I could see that my nails were clipped and filed all over the place. It looked like I had been biting my nails. I had to file my nails and round them out myself. Service: Inconsistent. My manicurist insisted that I pay BEFORE she did my manicure. That was different than my first time when I paid after my service. I went ahead and tipped 20%, since the pedicure seemed okay at the time. Price: Reasonable if they actually follow through on completing a basic mani pedi. I did not say much, but I was expecting a sincere apology and compensation to give me a bandage. But the manicurist instead told me to go back and next time do the pedicure. Diamond is the classic combination of what you get and what you paid for. They have some real bargains on manicures 12$ and pedicures $18. They do a good job of giving you bang for your buck but you see the shortcomings of the bargain by the time you get home. I went to get a pedicure $18 and got a foot scrub and callous removal for $10 more. All prices include tax unless you pay by card. They did a pretty good job of removing all the dead skin although when I got home I did Notice some areas they missed. On the other hand my partner got the mani-pedi and the polish they used might as well have been watercolor. It started to chip within hours of leaving. Considering we both opted for the bargain versions and not the "dream" deluxe version I was still fairly content and the staff were pretty nice. read more

However, I went in today shortly after they had opened and was seated immediately. Came in for a gel manicure with Aimee and she did a fabulous job! The place is clean and the price is great-$23 for a basic gel! Looking forward to coming in for a silk wrap next time! This is definitely my new go-to nail salon in the hood! Gone two more times since and I've seen Lisa! She's amazing! I showed her a photo of the French manicure idea i wanted to do and she did a great job recreating it. When i came back to get a fill she had some ideas on how to make an even cuter variation on the last idea and even added some gems into the mix! Best French mani I've ever had. I was introduced to this place over 20 years ago, it's hard to things that I'm old enough to have known a specific location for 20 years. As time moves on your introduce to different locations, that are more convenient to your time schedule. However for my birthday I decided go to location but I knew I would be pleased with their work, and I was not disappointed. I discovered this salon over the summer. I have been here a few times and l always seem to end up with the male technician. He is great, he knows what l like and from time to time l let him pick a color for me. He is fast and very efficient. They have great color selections and the designs go from very simple to every elegant to super exotic. They follow Covid regulations. I wish l knew my nail tech's name. I am happy we chose each other and that works for me. Everyone here is very friendly, they also play very nice music. It is fine. It is not super fancy and cleanliness isn't like a stand out feature, but I don't feel like I am going to get a fungus at least. I think the price for a mani/pedi could be a tidge cheaper for how much of a dive this place is and sometimes the ladies are rough with the cuticle clippers. I live in midtown manhattan and have been struggling for the longest time to find a good nail salon that isn't expensive as hell. The last place I went to I spent $70 on a fill plus French. I have been on a hunt to find something that wouldn't put a hole in my pocket. After reading the reviews to this place, I decided to go all the way to Brooklyn just to get my nails done. I walked-in at 10:30am and it was empty with the exception of a guy getting a pedicure. Elaine took me right away and WOW. She was amazing. They do nor know what they are doing... or some of them at least. The paint on tour hands are uneven and start chipping within a few days. The nail polish isn't even a good quality. And on top of that when I asked doe a design on 2 nails in total, they said I would need gel. After arguing for 10 min with me saying no, they did the gel anyway and charged me an extra $15 for 2 nails which DIDN'T even look like the design. I could've gotten gel on my whole hands if I wanted to pay that price, especially since the lady doing my nails did them over about 6 times for them to still be done wrong. For reference, I've been going here since I was a kid and within the past 2-3 years, this establishment has gone downhill with prioritizing a dollar over building long-term relationships with clients. First and last visit. The place looks messy, nail polish old and crusty. I should have walked out but really wanted to get my pedicure done and I just moved to the neighborhood from Astoria, so decided to give it a shot. I sat down seeing a waxing room to the left which looked yuck- definitely not the most hygienic place I have seen. In any case- the pedicure was alright but rushed. The message took the guys 3 minutes. And while thing cost $18- are you kidding? For this price you can get a royal treatment in Astoria, even in Manhattan. This is still not the worst- the guy used pumice on my feet as if they were made of stone. My ankles are all raw- he didn't pay any attention and and hurt my feet badly. I told her I would wait, she begin speaking in her language to the other nail tech and now everyone's staring at me. (Let me not assume because I don't know what she's saying). Anyway, after waiting 1hr Tina finishes the customer in her chair and then proceeds to take another customer who came after me. I kindly ask, "Tina wasn't I next"? She ignores me and begins speaking in her language again with other nail technicians, in which they all begin laughing. So I stand up and ask again, Tina wasn't I next, she lies and tell me the women was here before me, in which the women vouches for me and says no she came and after me. I've been coming here for more than 15 Years, this salon is family owned and never disappoints!!! The best nail tech in the community!!!

First off, I don't like places that immediately make me feel like a criminal. The door is locked and you have to be buzzed-in (strike one). I walk in and request a manicure - no welcome, no "how's your day", just "choose a color". I choose, I seat down. The manicure is quick but before applying nail color I have to pay for the service. In other words you need to pay before service is completed. What kind of backwards thinking is that? I pay but don't put a tip cuz I tip on cash after the service completed. She applies the color and moves to the fan station and walks away before check to make sure the fan is on. It's not and apparently that one was broken so I had to move myself to another station (strike 3). Overall the manicure was fine but the service sub-par. I would usually tip anyway but perhaps that's part of the problem, so today I did not. And of course, my polish smudged in the car.*sigh* read more

Tina and a woman with no name did our nails. First they told me over the phone it will be $35 minutes it's color. When we arrived the told me that if I wanted a color it would be $5 more. Shaping $5. And if a wanted anything else it would also be extra. The woman with no name cut my sister twice. After the first time I asked to be gentle but she cut her again. Crappy job all in a hurry. This is the one place that gets it right when it comes to my mani-pedi. I don't even live in the area where they're located but I trek to this nail salon because I know I won't be disappointed. One of my best friends had been going there for years and she developed a really good relationship with Cassie (the owner/nail technician). Cassie is the sweetest! She's very warm and friendly, always greeting me by my name and asking about little updates in my life that I'm pleasantly surprised she remembers I mentioned to her! She's done my nails many times but on one occasion when my friend and I showed up late for appointment she put me on to Tina and assured me I was in good hands. I usually don't feel comfortable with new people but Tina did not disappoint !!!!! I was really hesitant leaving a review because I really don't want to share Cassie or Tina with anyone but Heaven knows these women deserve their credit! They are perfectionist (like me)! The work is immaculate and I never have to micromanage how I need my nails to look. I really love how long my polish and designs last because I'm always on the go and I try to hold out till I get back to see these women. The rest of the staff are very pleasant and professional. The salon has a low rotation of staff which means you actually get to build a relationship with the people working there. The location is convenient by transit but parking can be a little tricky if you're driving (it's a busy part of Flatbush) so it's better to get a car service to get there. They accept credit/debit cards (which is a plus because I sometimes go crazy and decide at the last minute to get extra services there). I didn't want to give one star but that's the lowest rating I could give. I have been getting my nails done at this place for over 4 years. I got a mani and pedi at the end of May (this year-2021) after taking off the polish on my feet I noticed fungus which I have never experienced there before. I called the store to notify them and the lady starts out by saying they can't be sure if I got from there. I told her I only come there so it's on them. She basically brushed me off and said oh well. The customer service sucks overall. They do good work for the most part but they are not professional at all. There have been times that I witnessed one of the techs (Cassie) being very rude and disrespectful to a client and refused to give her service, it's unacceptable. She let the lady sit there while she took several other people who came in after her and told the woman that she could have her nails done by someone else because she wasn't going to do it for her. Another time another tech argued loudly across other customers because a young lady expressed that she wasn't happy with the service that she had received. I will no longer support businesses that don't support me and or disrespect me. There are plenty other nail salons that I can spend my hard earned money with. Absolutely LOVE this nail salon. Very clean and professional. The wait on high-volume days aren't that long (depending on what you want, about 15 minutes). They use quality nail polish that actually lasts chip-free on manicures for over a week.
