    US Cabinets And Design

    US Cabinets And Design

    (1 review)

In early January 2025, I contacted US Cabinets and Design for a quote. After a discussion and…read moreshowroom visit, we agreed on the style, colors, and price for cabinets and countertops for a rental property. The price was higher than expected for "basic" cabinets, but we adjusted some details to meet our budget. We were told the cabinets would be made, and the installation scheduled after production. We also provided the make and model of our sink for the template. Everything was fine up to this point. A few days later, Tracy confirmed the install would be Thursday, January 23rd. The day before, I asked if the same installer would handle both cabinets and countertops and was told no. Countertop measurements would be taken a week later, followed by another install date. This was a surprise, as we were never informed about this timing. I felt frustrated but accepted it. Meanwhile, I had to explain the delay to my tenant. Later that day, Tracy called to say the installer would not arrive as scheduled on Thursday, but Friday instead, due to issues on another job. On Friday, we got another call that the installer couldn't make it, and he would be there Monday, January 27th, "first thing" at 8am. I rearranged my schedule to accommodate. Monday came, when no one showed up by 9am. I made several attempts to reach someone. I finally got Tracy, who told me the installer hadn't left the shop yet, which was over an hour away. At this point, I was furious and told them we wanted to cancel. They quickly reminded me we were under contract and insisted on enforcing it. I explained that their delays violated the contract, and all we'd gotten were half-truths. They even called us "hostile" when we were simply trying to cancel due to the company's failures. By 11am, the owner arrived with the installer. He didn't say a word to us--no apology, nothing, and then left. I didn't even get his name. The installers worked for an hour and then went to lunch. They completed the day and left around 5pm. The next day, they were late again, arriving around 9am. One installer left shortly after arriving, leaving the other to work alone. The installer worked until around 9pm that night. A few days later, Tracy called to check on the install. When we went to the property, we saw that the work wasn't completed. The installers had left handles off the cabinets and there was a large gap where a cabinet should have been. Tracy said the installer could come out that day, but we couldn't coordinate on short notice. We were then told the installers were unavailable the following week, and we'd need to talk to Todd (the salesperson) about fixing the gap. When Todd called, he told me the gap was a "preference." I reminded him we had discussed covering the gap and this was NOT OUR preference. He insisted I should have reviewed the 3D drawings, which I had already looked over. It felt like he wasn't taking responsibility, adding to our frustration. The countertop issue was the next problem. On January 29, the templaters were supposed to measure between 11am and 3pm. At 2:50pm, they called to say they couldn't make it due to phone issues, but would come the following day instead...another broken promise. When the guy finally arrived, he informed us the sink we purchased weeks earlier couldn't be mounted as an undermount, only as a drop-in, due to cabinet limitations. We had to switch to a drop-in, despite planning for an undermount. Now they are telling me they won't finish the job unless I pay them a $250 fee to come back out and finish the handles and they will not fix the gap. These people are terrible and I have an incomplete job. I have filed a BBB complaint on them as well. Stay far away. I will add pictures soon

He just help with my room addition in Bartow FL with Paradise General Contracting LLC they are both liars, cheats, and thieves. He never told to us he'd be charging fees until they appeared on the #2 Draw from the contractor. The contractor fee was "Cost" plus 25% and my contract was with Paradise NOT Jeff Bird (never had a contract with him) but he charge 10% plus a cut off 25%, Jeff that totals 35%. He was very insulting and "no it all". I only text him 3 times FROM Jan-Apr, but was insulting on them as well as in person. My last text to him was Apr 7, 2021 and he has yet to reply. Could be because we rejected the final inspection Apr 5, 2021. Jeff you did submit a receipt (about the only sub that did). Jeff your fees over $8000.00 sure must have hurt the contractors profit. YOU listed on your receipt 3 draws paid in full waiting on the final draw at closing. There was NO final draw, only #3 Draws total. You remind me of the children's story of a Little Bird waiting in his nest for Mother Bird to come back to stuff his mouth with food. Greedy Little Bird!! Your LLC means: License, Liar, Cheat as well as Paradise General Contracting, LLC. I was stupid to pay the draws as soon as you presented them to me. I trusted your word to get missing receipts to me. I believed in your word. But learned on the Final Draw to cut off your deception. FYI Tucker's Flooring finished our out of pocket cost July 13, 2021 and they are beautiful. The plumber, electrician, and insulators, were the only professional subs on this project. NO subs drink on the job they did NOT once but twice and were removed via contractor. Things were stolen from the job site and we were charge for them. Please what ever you do don't give this company and chance to rob or cheat you. And yes, I'm a "Karen" not an "old money bag" as I was called via the concrete specialist the contractor hired.

Hi, I lived in this apt complex for 2 years and saw 2 different management companies with this apt…read morecomplex. I have two say the first year was better than the second year. The second year after everything opened again from the pandemic things went down hill. When I moved in my apt was really clean and all I had to do was a quick wipe down. I could not get a card scanner for 10 months when first living there. They always had an excuse that they were trying to get one. Finally one day I went in and in front of a group of people I believe were prospective renters waiting I asked for the scan card and finally got it. It was a mystery to me why everyone could have a scan card and I couldn't. It was becoming a security issue and after 10 months they finally gave me one. It is the same with the current management I guess as I was in the office and a young man came in and asked for one and he had been waiting to get a card. Same excuse they didn't have any. Well the front doors to the building no longer work as you don't need a card to get in. Anyone can walk in. This irrates a lot of the renters as when we moved in there were locked front doors. Now anyone can walk in. The scan card I believe is still necessary for the side doors. I am not complaining about the new manager as she always worked with me on issues and got them resolved. New company I believe took away the cleaning lady. She would go to each building and mop the elevators at least once a week and wipe down the buttons and take care of any issues regarding cleaning. She worked hard and did a good job. You knew she was there as it smelled good. The whirlpool spa stopped working the first year I was there and has never been fixed. There was a sign posted by the health dept. not to use it. It has been out of service for over a year. I have to say with the new company they took away the cleaning lady and the elevators are filthy. They do not mop the floors and dog owners do not clean up the urine in the elevators. I am an animal lover but the elevators were sticky and smelled of urine. I complained as well as other people but the floors were never cleaned. Elevator buttons were filthy as I would take a Clorox wipe and wipe them down frequently. They seemed to be so concerned about Covid but wouldn't keep the common areas in the building clean and have no concern with keeping them clean. They took away the nice trash can that was by the door in front of each building. Each floor has an inside trash dump room. The trash room on my floor was filthy. Someone periodically dumped the trash on the floor and the floor became very sticky as they would not mop the floor. I ended up using the dump on the other side of the building as my shoes were sticky with urine and trash. I kept a rug at the front of my apt and kept my shoes on it when I came in to the apt and then would spray the bottom of the shoes with Lysol overnight to get the sticky off. I felt like they were wanting the tenants in each building to keep their building clean. The couple that lived on first floor were always cleaning the glass doors coming in to the apt building as well as moping and sweeping the front area on the first floor. I mopped the elevator a couple of times but the urine smell would not go away. The company that mowed the complex always got grass clippings on all the vehicles in the lot. You couldn't keep your car clean. There was pet waste on sidewalks. The refrigerator never worked correctly in my apt and when gave me a new one they never hooked up the ice maker an. The current manager worked with me when all of a sudden they started charging me for monthly renters insurance and I had had my own renters insurance from the beginning. I went to the office 3 times with the policy and finally the current manger took care of it. I would not do automatic deductions for rent as they were always charging me for things that were not correct and although after emails to the manger she would get them taken care of it was a stress and time consuming to get it correct. Supposedly others were getting charged for things that were not correct. Positives for the complex: I never had any issues with finding a place to park. My apartment on the inside was nice and fairly new at 4-5 years old. I had some nice neighbors. The areas around the pool and areas that were viewed by the public were clean. I did not use the work out room much but it seemed to be pretty clean and they provided spray bottle of sanitizer for use or they did at one time. I understand that a manager can only do so much and is given a certain budget to work in but a lot was taken away from this apt complex and the tenants. I moved to another city in Florida and rent. Elevators are mopped every morning and other facilities are clean as I still wipe down buttons. I have no grass clippings on my car and everything is good and clean.
