I am very anxious when it comes to dentists and have had horrible experiences. I was so nervous even calling to schedule an appointment. But even from the very beginning I felt welcomed and comfortable. The staff are just as welcoming and friendly as Dr. Horn. They never made me feel embarrassed or uncomfortable. Dr. Swiderski told me that TWO teeth needed to be pulled, because the one next to Bad Tooth was loose (fine, just a little) and the infection had basically caused too much bone loss. As is my way, I tried to air a grievance about this (and yes, I actually said "I'd like to air a grievance!"), noting that my Googling was surely as good as Dr. Swiderski's several advanced degrees and his prestigious residency at the Mayo Clinic. Perhaps not surprisingly, I was shot down, albeit nicely considering I was of course talking nonsense. All of the assistants are wonderful too, as I kept warning them that "I'm a baby about this stuff" and "it takes a lot of novocaine to work" and making the sad face of dread. Oh, and the x-ray apparatus they have is very high-tech! Regular plates hurt my mouth because I have mandibular tori (which I didn't even know weren't normal until I was an adult), but here they have a whirring machine that rotates and magically takes x-rays. Also, because I have a lot of stuff going on with my teeth, I was happy that Dr. S. mentioned cost, as in "let's triage and get the most critical stuff taken care of first" - not because he knew anything about my financial situation, but because dental/medical stuff is expensive and most insurance (including mine) has ridiculously low caps on what they'll pay out in total for dentistry. So, the point. This was a complicated dental surgery because so much of the bone was eaten away and it involved two teeth and I'm a wimp about anything dental-related....but I'll have to go back for follow up and probably bone grafting, and I actually don't dread it. That's how nice everyone there is, and how hard they work to make sure this is as pain-free as possible, so much unlike the root canal sadistic nightmares of my youth. It's also nice of Dr. Swiderski to check in the evening after surgery to make sure we're doing okay. Overall, if you need dental surgery, I highly recommend Dr. Swiderski and crew!

I went there to get my teeth cleaned because I live close to this place. I told them I could bring my record from my old dental, and Itś okay for me to get the yearly x-rays done. They insisted to do all 23 x-rays for no good reason. They made me wait for more than 30 minutes because they schedule a lot of people at the same time and they rush to get to the next person. They brushed my teeth in less than 5 minutes then they flossed roughly and damaged my gums. Unfortunately, Woodburn modern dental was unlike any professional dental I have ever been to. The cleaning they did for me was not what I expected. It was quick brushing and flossing. Like something I could do at home myself. The doctor said that the assistant will remove the plaque and polish my teeth, but unfortunately the assistant did not spend any time on my teeth at all. After brushing and flossing effortly, she said ¨finished¨. They hadn't cleaned ANY of my stains so I told them what happened and they tried to sweet talk me saying ooh you're teeth are so clean there was nothing for us to do. Also they assume everyone who comes speaks spanish because they handed me paperwork to fill in SPANISH they quickly left the room. I was waiting for them to tell them I don't speak spanish after 20 minutes of waiting, they came back and I told them to give me the English form. Dr Patel and her assistant do not have the ethics to be in the dental field.

When my appointment finally arrived, the dental tech asked me to remove my top 'denture' (the bottom was in my pocket having broken loose already) and was confused how I clean them if they do not come out. The 'Dentist' clearly got a kick out of my tears, so much so she made a joke to the tech, "Look I haven't even touched her yet, and she is crying already!" She must have thought this was a really funny joke, as she immediately repeated it to someone else in the hallway, how funny it was CRYING before she even touched me. Really funny, lady, please by all means do quit your day job as you are equally useless as Dentist or Comedienne. I was expecting profuse apologies for having brought me in on false pretenses, instead it was insisted that I have new films done, though the ones I brought from Clear Choice were recent. I went along with the new scans, expecting they were being done for some legitimate reason. They were not. It was for my 'referral' which I never asked for as I KNOW implants are not covered. It came in the mail a week later, for my new DENTURES as if having spent 50K at Clear Choice (for crap implants) and having endured several extremely painful surgeries, now I was opting for DENTURES?!!??? So now I have a useless referral, useless xrays (I got zapped for NO reason) as they are incompatible with my new IMPLANT DENTIST and I lost a LOT of money being unable to work for the 2 weeks I waited for Woodburn "Modern" Dental appointment and a BILL from them on top of it all. This is human nature. So I want to call out an act of professionalism by Dr. Theresa Lindquist. She has repeatedly identified patients with sinusitis and taken the effort to get them treated. My wife is a professor at the OHSU dental school. The students are taught to screen for medical problems, but if any questions arise, they are directed back to their primary care physician. Not with Dr. Lindquist, she gets them in to be seen by the appropriate subspecialist as quickly as possible. Theresa, your patients are grateful. It is nice when the dental and medical communities work together as a team. However, I want to help…read moreothers of not getting into the same trouble I ran into with this so called "dentist" I inherited dr. Lindquist due to my original dentist relocation. I had my regular teeth cleaning routine appointment. At the end of my appointment, she walked in and introduced herself and then briefly looked at my teeth and informed me that I needed a crown and a filling. I didn't had any concerns with the teeth she pointed out. However, I agreed to follow her direction. We set a day and a time. It was a day before my trip to Chicago for two weeks. During my appointment, I was terrified. I never had such an unprofessional and unclean experience. At the very beginning, she was very rough and she was constantly walking out of the room between me and her other patients. I felt brushed off. There were so many mistreatments that I don't want to write about all of them here. In the middle of the appointment while she was out of the room I voiced my concerns to her Technician. The long story short, after many attempts, (she was resizing my crown) the outcome was - an awful crown, not just Aesthetically, it's also big size and cement in between, and I Still can not floss in between. Its also has an open margin to my roots. At the end She couldn't floss herself in between the crown she just placed yet she let me walk out without proper cleaning and big crown. When she was attempting to floss in between, she bruzed my gums and there were a lot of blood, she would wipe the blood out of the floss and then reused the same floss again and again. I was shucked! I couldn't believe it! Its like she was saving her own floss on me. She kept wiping blood and kept flossing again. Then she walked out and I asked her technician to use a new floss for me. And if that wasn't enough, she spilled the water on me and onto the instruments tray, she then grabbed a piece of cloth from the top of the tray, she wiped my mouth, and THE TRAY ON SIDES and placed that same cloth back on the tools that she was using inside of my mouth. She then used tools and wiped them with the same cloth that she just used for my mouth and the tray. I was so terrified that I had to leave to Chicago next day and I was afraid that I will have an infection due to her unsanitizing practices. Sure enough the whole week I had a pain, while out of the state. But to make the matter worse, she inflicted so much pain and pressure in the very beginning of my appointment by attempting to place the tube that was oversized, so than she decided to change on smaller size but by that time I was in so much pain. Due to so much pressure she caused my other crown fell off on second day after seeing her, while in Chicago. I filed a complaint against her with an OREGON BOARD OF DENTISTRY she was found GUILTY in 10 counts of failing testing biological monitoring system on the heat of sterilization. Again, I wouldn't write this review, if she had a heart to fix her problem and now it is my problem. She refused To pay for a new crown and a missing tooth, both of her fault. But that's not it, her administrator Tracy is the rudest person. I asked her to email me my exrays and they won't release them to me. I callled again week after, she said it's not her job and she doesn't know when it can be done. I told her I have been waiting for a week now, but she didn't care. My phone calls got unanswered, literally ignored. All what I was asking for my personal exrays. Please, do yourself a favor, ran from this place if you care about your teeth. Interestingly enough that Reviews that gave her 5 stars (on her website) were written during the investigation. P.S. my review was the first review written here on her name, but as soon as my review was posted immediately someone else (Jennifer) wrote a review with a five starts why not before? Wondering... New update: the review from Jennifer magically disappeared after me mentioning it. What a game!
