Great time - but it was a HOT day…read more We did a torte class and it was fun ... but sooooo HOT outside... where the class was held. Would have been better if it was in an air conditioned room. Michael, I think the owner, led the class and he was good and very kind. The whole staff were nice. The torte was really good and the Austrian Coffee... so delicious. It was a great experience... just remember to not go when it is blazing hot! Would I go back? YES!

At first it was difficult to find where to enter the building but you enter in the waterside and take the elevator to the top. I had their chicken Schnitzel and it was delicious. They had great cocktails as well, not surprising as the bar is in the Center with most tables having a river view.

Jindrak was recommended both online and by my Linz based friend so we visited it during our time in…read morethe city. Jindrak offers quality coffee. We took a cup to go (I know, very American of me). I ordered the Latte Macchiato with Oat Milk while my wife ordered a Moka (not realizing it is completely different than what she orders in America). I drank mine, and hers, and was very pleased with it. Jindrak has a large selection of baked goods. I was half heartedly checking things out when I saw a chocolate and strawberry pastry with a little vegan flag stuck in it. Excellent addition, from my perspective, so that I didn't have to inquire about the ingredients in everything. I took a pastry to go. Loved the texture and flavor of the dessert. Jindrak's service, vegan options and coffee all make it a worthwhile visit. The lack of vegan choices (only one during our visit) is the only thing holding it back from five stars.

It is made with a buttery hazelnut crust and currants. Not raspberries like I have always seen on the knock-offs. (Although admittedly, those are pretty good too....no harm, no foul......they just aren't really what linzer tortes really are.) Anyhow, it's a busy little shop and we had a private section upstairs to enjoy our coffee. Our guide told us to put the little chocolate in the coffee too. Even though I usually like my coffee black, I obliged. When in Rome..... My only regret is not buying one to take home with me. I heard they travel and keep very well.

My wife and i and four friends had a fantastic meal at Fischerhausl yesterday evvening. We are on…read morea river cruise and were craving some authenic food instead of the normal fare of the cruise barge. We were so pleased to find this place next to the waterfront across the river from our barge, just a short walk away. The atmosphere of the restaurant is very warm and cozy, to begin with. The young guys running the restaurant were charming and welcoming. They speak English, and have a very engaging way about them. Now the food: in a word, fantastic. My wife and I had the local fish, salmet, with black rice and perfectly cooked vegetables. Delicious. Others in our group had the Spargel with various meat selections, and they were also very pleased. The white asparagus, spargel, is in season now. The selection of desserts was off the charts delicious - we had the dessertvariation, which included a bit of all they offer for our group to share. I had more than my share (sorry guys...). They also have a good selection of wines and beer. The beer was excellent I am told, and the wines they suggested (a Grunber and a more full bodied red) both really fit the bill and were quite good. We all thought the cost of the meal was quite reasonable. Finishing with Plum Schnapps was a perfect cap to the evening. Just in time for a stroll through the fair by the river. So, if you happen to be in Linz, particualrly if your option is another large non-descript cruise passenger meal and if you would like to hang out with some actual Austrians and have something like an authentic local experience, this is the place for you.

Honestly, form outside did not seemed too much but because I send some of my clients over there to have dinner I thought that I should try it myself as well.... :D And boy, what a great place! I have many dining, many places, but this one we still talk about after few days! They have an open kitchen actually you can see what is going on there. The waiters were (there were a lady and a young boy there, can't remember their names.... sorry) super attentive. The chef gave a taste of a small mustard portion that he just created right there on the spot until we were waiting for the main course. And the main course....! Heavenly! Really! I am not easily impressed but this Norwegian fish that I ordered (I am not even a big fish eater...) was the highlight of my day! :) I will be back! That is for sure! Don't know when but will be back! :) If you are in Linz, do not miss this great place!
