I was surprised that the area around the station actually looked quite pleasant, and Brunnenhof seemed inviting enough. The restaurant is next to a hotel and consists of a main restaurant at the back, a more casual bar area at the front and a beer garden overlooking the plaza. I opted for the bar area and was happy to spot traditional German asparagus on the menu. The food was OK, parma ham rather than the more traditional German variety served with the asparagus (the vegetable is the main course here!!) and gloopy hollandaise which may have come from a carton. Washed down with a glass of German white wine recommended as the perfect accompaniment (I would probably have chosen something more dry, my once German tastebuds having become anglicised). It was an OK place to wait and eat by myself, frequented by hotel guests and some regulars. A loud party had put me off entering the actual restaurant down a few steps, opting for the bar area instead which had football on TV. Average age middle age.
