At a time when part-time childcare options were limited, this center was a true find. We had toured several daycares in the past for our older child and often left feeling unsure. This one stood out immediately for its welcoming atmosphere, thoughtful structure, and caring staff. From the director to every teacher, there is a genuine sense of dedication to the well-being and development of the children. Our little one always looked forward to going and came home happy and content--which gave us peace of mind. We're so grateful for the care, warmth, and consistency this place offers. Highly recommend to any family looking for a nurturing environment for their child.

Skip & Scoot classes are full of fun obstacle courses, activities, music, singing, dancing, stories and more. The bubbles at the end of class are always a favorite for my mini. Oh and the stamp... she loves to have her stamp that all of the kids receive at the end. These classes are great for entertaining and also exhausting my toddler - she always takes a good nap after a Skip & Scoot class. ;-) And if this wasn't reason enough, Miss Luci will often chime in with some tidbits about how this activity or that exercise is not only fun, but is building the brain and helping improve development in our little ones. Note about Covid: We have also taken the new outdoor classes more recently (after months of sheltering in place and doing virtual classes) and would like to point out that Skip & Scoot now has precautionary Covid procedures in place. All adults (including the teacher) are required to wear face masks and the whole set up is in an outdoor park with tons of space for social distancing. Everyone (kids and adults) are asked to use hand sanitizer prior to touching equipment and everyone in the class follows along with these measures and we feel very safe and comfortable. And it's so great for my kid to be back in this type of learning and play environment with other kids!

It was a fast paced class to keep kids' interest, but everything was clear and perfectly tailored to toddlers. As a former early childhood teacher myself, I was highly impressed! If you can squeeze in a class while they're still open, it's absolutely worth the money!

I reached out initially to them via email and Kallie replied since they hadn't posted their fall schedule mid summer but she promised to email me as soon as they released. A month later she sweetly sent me an email notifying me (I was impressed she remembered!). Unfortunately being west coast based, the live class times were too early for us on weekends and my son wasn't keen on an on demand class. I wasn't too sure what to do with the gift certificate and Kallie explained that although their focus isn't on retail sales there were some items they stock and she sweetly took pictures and my gift certificate was able to cover some lovely items (including recipe cards for my son's gluten free diet). I was so impressed how Kallie went so above and beyond that if we were living in Chicago would be frequenting this spot often given their exemplary level of customer service.

He was not allowed to call or talk to us parents at all, we had no connection to hear from him personally. My son is a great normal quiet kid yet he was bullied there and we had no control over it ... This camp Is a hit or miss. Also, directors use shady tactics of making kids spend pocket money (that they insist kids need to have) on stuff they don't need. They are attentive to his needs and we trust them taking care of him. They post up to date reports of how/what he's doing each day from the naps he takes and food he eats, to when he goes to the bathroom. They post at least 2-3 pictures everyday of him doing various activities or playing with other kids. It's very calming and reassuring to know what he's doing during the day. It's a small place, so we know he's getting personalized attention. They use the "Brightwheel" app and if we ever have questions, we can send them a message and they'll respond right away. They also reach out immediately if they think something is wrong. One time our son was running a bit of a fever, so they were in contact immediately with us to let us know what was going on. There was another instance when Annette told us that she noticed he was wheezing towards the end of the day. Turned into a trip to the hospital that night, but she caught it right away with her watchful eye. Annette and her staff are doing such a great job at the Nook. We have already recommended this place to some of our friends who have recently had children and will continue to do so in the future.
