My wife accidentally dropped her iPhone 7, smashing the screen. Went to Unique to get it replaced,…read morethis was done in about 30 minutes costing £75. We got the phone home then about 2 hours later it starts jittering and refusing to properly function. I took the phone back to Unique the following day and explained the situation, the response was that Apple added a code in to their iOS that effectively stops third party screens working properly with their phone and it has to be replaced with an official Apple digitiser. Why he didn't explain this BEFORE we got the screen repaired, I'm entirely sure. I then had a 30 minute conversation with the owner saying that he needed to fix what he'd done as he should have made us aware before taking our money, we had to have the broken screen fitted and the money was reluctantly handed back as if nothing happened. Apparently, he 'didn't need our crap money anyway' Despite this, the battery is now showing signs of wear - I'm about to give this man a second chance, will edit after it is fixed TL;DR - solution not found, rude owner. (Thus far)

Purchased a couple of vouchers from Wowcher for this company also calling themselves…read moreSmileyhippo.com. Vouchers were £10 for a 40 page photobook and postage at £5.95 for 5 days delivery. Website states courier delivery is £10.95, when I placed the order for the first photobook using the voucher (and I only opted for a 20 page book as opposed to 40 which is what I could have ordered) the confirmation said delivery would be 9 working days. When I queried this they said I had to send them a copy of the voucher. Over the next day or so I went back and forth with them and they said they couldn't honour the voucher and I could pay extra for the 5 days delivery, when I queried how much this would be they said another £15 on top of what I'd already paid, so basically their website has incorrect information and they don't honour the vouchers from Wowcher. I asked for a refund and now I don't even have enough time to order the photobook from elsewhere in time for the event it was intended for. I'm very shocked and annoyed with this poor level of service and wish I'd stuck to my tried and tested photobook sources in the first place rather than give this shoddy company a chance. Oh and did I say how slow the smileyhippo.com software was when I was creating my photobook? What a waste of over 3 hours!
Creative project for January: compile photo book for two other girls who were on my Gokyo Lakes…read moreand Everest Base Camp trek at the end of last year. Outcome: 3 x groupon vouchers to an online photobook printer, Smiley Hippo. Stars for name = 5 The Smiley Hippo OS was easy to download and to learn. It's very intuitive and I picked it up very quickly - some things are harder to do than others but, if you're used to working with different systems, you'll pick up this software very very easily. There was one thing that did prove difficult and I did have to find a way around it, rather than being able to figure out how it worked/was meant to be done, but I was still able to overcome it, so User-friendliness = 4 The ordering process was then interesting.....I wanted to order three of the same book. When I had started up my project, there hadn't been an option for "Groupon A4 picture book" so I had clicked on what I thought was the appropriate book and it turned out this was incorrect. Customer Service, however, was very helpful. I did have to ring a number of times before getting through (the line was busy) but this might be the case with any printing service who is busy and, on subsequent calls, I got through straight away. Customer Service = 4.5 The ordering process online = 3.5 because of the slight problem with the coding, but also because I wasn't able to simply order three of the same book using the vouchers and had to order each one through a separate process, which took longer and also meant paying three lots of P&P - which isn't much considering the discount on the books but it's also going to be a bit annoying if they don't fit through the letterbox and I have to collect them from my "local" apocolyptic industrial estate Post collection depot. Once it was all finished, it was all quite easy and I love how my book looks. I'll update when I have the real thing in my hands but, for now, this process was relatively easy, straightforward, and has made me want to make another book with more of the photos! So, overall, a genuinely smiley hippo; creative project for January = done!

On contacting Walkers they have told me that neither they nor the manufacturer will accept it as faulty due to the length of time I have owned it. They assured me that in the space of eight hours both they and the manufacturer had managed to contact and receive replies from every single customer that had bought the identical garment. I purchased a morning suit from Leadenhall for my wedding a few months ago and could not be more…read morepleased with the experience. I had done a handful of Google searches with only limited results. After some quick research, I found that I had only three choices--none in the United States--for ordering a quality suit online with the level of customization necessary. I don't remember exactly why I chose Leadenhall in the first place, although my impression was that their website was user-friendly and their prices were the middle of the three. It was only later in the process that I was perusing their main site and realized that Leadenhall is not a major online retailer in the UK (as I had assumed), but rather an independent shop with a surprisingly robust and facile online presence. The website shows the storefront of a modest shop in Norwich; even better, the site also revealed that the same Jason Ball with whom I had been corresponding via a basic "help" email address wasn't just some customer service agent, but rather the owner and proprietor of the shop. By then I had already exchanged several messages with Jason and was highly impressed to find that the head of the entire outfit would devote that amount of time and attention to my order. The communication with Jason was less like a cut-and-dried online order and more like an experience that a customer would have walking into a store and having a conversation with a congenial salesperson as both parties try to figure out what is the best option. Jason provided excellent guidance and allowed me to change my original order right before he sent it out. When the suit arrived and one piece did not fit as I needed, he made it very simple for me to return it for another size, and I had the new trousers in my hands well before the wedding--not to be taken for granted when shipping between Norwich and Chicago. The day that he shipped my suit, he sent me a photo of the parcel on its way to the post office. This was my wedding suit and a big deal to me--and he acted like he was just as excited as I was. And how was the suit anyway? Fantastic. To be precise, this was the Brook Taverner Mayfair suit, with black herringbone jacket, light grey waistcoat, and black and grey striped trousers. The fabrics and craftsmanship were very good, yet all the pieces were reasonably priced. I received numerous compliments that afternoon and evening, and in the days beyond. Frankly, I don't believe that I have ever looked so good, and I have the photographs to prove it. I can't recommend Jason Ball and Leadenhall highly enough. If you are looking for fine formalwear and genuine warmth of service, you will find both here.

Was very interesting, and huge! would like to point out the free carpark on the shopping centre but dont go over the 2hrs free or you have to pay £60 fine ,{ although thats nothing to do with Hobbycraft, just want to pre-warn any customers that may go.} There were loads of staff, i think they outnumbered customers, and a little annoying as several times a member of staff was dodging around me shuffling items on the shelf where i was looking, which was a bit off putting, as it made me feel a little like i was being watched. If that happens when i go again it would probably stop me shopping there to be honest but ill give the benefit of the doubt this time. I was in a craft dream- world, walking along the isles with my mind racing with what i could make and use these things for,and really enjoying myself, so thats why the staff dodging around me was off-putting. All in all i loved all the stuff, i hope they keep an eye on their prices , and i would go again, hopefully without the staff hovering lol if your looking for something in particular im sure you will find it, the only they didnt stock that i wanted was Genesis Heat set paints would have given a 5/5 if i could get the paints i wanted and the staff issue.
