Calling this company sleaze would be an insult to smut peddlers everywhere. I Ordered $1000.00 plus order for Mother's Day online. The pieces were too big. Due to illness, I could not get them back from my mother past this store's 30 day deadline for returns. They were tried on once, worn for under 5 minutes and had all the tags on. We tried calling customer service to arrange for a return/ refund. They pretty much told me to go f*ck myself because 30 days had passed. I'm pretty sure they do this because they sell overpriced garbage and have HORRIBLE customer service. So I'll eat the order and donate it to goodwill or some other charity. This review is solely for their order online and pickup at store experience. I found something I really liked on their website and while it was not in stock at the store, apparently they ordered it and it came in next day! This saved me on paying any shipping and handling. Communication via email was very prompt and clear. When I arrived there were clearly marked signs for curbside pickup. I called the number on the sign and someone came out quite quickly with my order and was very helpful. I was very pleased with the entire transaction from start to finish. I love shopping here. May not always be able to afford it but they always seem to have what I need. I had looked in various other stores for gown for a black tie event. It was almost impossible to find in my size. At Dillard's, I was able to find a variety to choose from and found one in my size within my price range. It was a beautiful black dress that was on sale. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The woman in the area I was in tried to help me find additional dresses to choose from. The check out process was fairly easy as well. In will definitely return to this location to shop especially for dressy attire. Definitely great clothing for the price. read more

Very well organized and clean inside. Three floors completely stocked with merchandise brought a smile to my face. The only issue I encountered while shopping was the map being outdated. The men's denim department was a large section on the third floor according to the map, but when I ventured up there, all I could see were dresses. That was my only issue shopping with Dillard's. I purchased Chanel cosmetics and was not completely satisfied with the sample shade I had tried. When I attempted to return the unopened packaging I was told it couldn't be returned because it was past 30 days. The original clerk had suggested I wear the sample shade for awhile to be sure I liked it. I knew this was the salesperson's decision because she looked at me as if to suggest I probably had not paid $98.00 for 2 items and there had to be some other explanation. I had my receipt and the items had the sticker that Dillard's affixes to each item sold. The packaging was intact. She never even took the time to check... just an emphatic, no! I have noticed that certain people groups are denied the curtesy of a return, while other people groups enjoy the luxury of returns with no questions asked and an apology because the item didn't work. Had a weird experience today as I was shopping. I saw some cute clothing in the Jr. section and thought I'd look around. Generally I like Dillard's and have good experiences. As I was almost finished looking around an angry black woman with a scowl on her face and a security shirt came stomping across the floor near the dressing rooms. I thought it was weird but ignored it. Then I was looking in another section and she came walking towards the area I was in and angrily and aggressively peering over my shoulder in my personal space. It feels violating when people do this to paying customers like myself. I don't know if it's a post covid thing or if every store just assumes your a dishonest shoplifter. I'm sick of getting this kind of treatment at stores. Maybe next time I'll profile her because honestly she looked like someone who would actually steal. I will take my business elsewhere next time. I'm an honest person and it's violating being treated poorly in stores. This is why online business is thriving. So, I'm between a rock and a hard place here. Dillard's is one of my favorite department stores, and, since we don't have one in Indiana, I was STOKED to come here. I left very disappointed. Not everything is horrible - they still carry awesome brands with a southern vibe. Their products are most definitely high quality. That being said, it was SO dirty in the store. I felt like I was in a TJ Max. Not a bad thing, but for sure not the vibe Dillard's usually goes for. It smelled like moth balls and the carpet looked like it hadn't been cleaned in years. The associates were on their phones or gossiping with each other. One had a super nasty cough and didn't cover her mouth. Since the store was so dirty and disorganized, I didn't end up finding anything I liked. If you're looking for high quality products, choose Dillard's. If you're looking for a nice store, try Louisville, KY or the Internet. read more

Ed and Karn in the men's department always give me great customer service. I receive emails and text to remind me of special sales and events from these guys. While I do a lot of business at this particular Dillards, I did not expect a Christmas gift from Ed last year! If I like a particular coat or suit and there is not one in the store, they call around until they find it. I liked one particular suit that I wanted to wear to my daughter's wedding, they found it in another country! Customer Service is all about relationships and there is no better than Ed and Karn. When I enter Dillards, it is as if I am entering Cheers Bar and they are yelling Norm! Sometimes, I just stop in and say hi. read more

This is by far my most favorite department chain ever. Their items are thoughtfully curated and their sales are dynamite. I always find something to purchase, from clothes to jewelry. They have a very nice plus size department, and my wife and I found some awesome deals on really nice clothes. Jewelry too! I have never done a lot of shopping at Dillard's but I was at Kenwood and decided to take a look. I was pleasantly surprised. Not only did they have all my favorite mid-range designers of Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren and Jones of New York, they had an extensive collection of the slightly higher-end names like Micheal Kors, Tahari, and Kenneth Cole. I also discovered Code Blue jeans. They fit like a dream and not too expensive. I won't go as far as saying Macy's has lost a customer, but just that Dillard's has gained one. read more

I cannot go into this store because of how badly it smells! My daughter and I were walking through the Kenwood Towne Center recently and as we passed North Face on the lower level, I asked "what is that horrible smell?". My daughter said that it was Dillard's and I realized she was right. It smells like merchandise that has gotten damp and musty in someone's basement and then they tried to somehow make it better. If you frequent this mall, notice the odors emanating from this store as you approach it. I don't know if it's unhealthy, but I'm not shopping there. read more

I recently sent my daughter and her boyfriend (who is foreign and only been in the US a couple of years) to get some clothing for her senior pics. She called me from the store saying that she had been kicked out. Turns out that her boyfriend went into the hallway (not the actual dressing room and she was totally dressed) and handed her her cellphone because I was calling (I demand an answer and not be ignored when I call). They were not being inappropriate inside the dressing room, etc. She was talked to like trash. Being an open-minded mother, I accompanied her to the store the next week. My intention was to get her the clothes she needed and to politely speak with a manager about her experience (especially since while I waited outside the dressing areas there were two large men that went into the dressing areas and waited for their family members! No one said a word to them. Anyhow, I was walking around I could here the sales clerk (6 months pregnant with her 4th child, wearing too tight jeans and a t-shirt with stains all over, hair messy--just showing some context here) talking very loudly to a mall cop about my daughter's situation, talking rudely about her as if she were a young punk kid making trouble. She was laughing about her and her probable financial status in life! I had enough. I sought out a manager but never got one. The place is a joke. There are no signs posted anywhere that a person cannot enter the hallway of the dressing rooms to give clothing or personal items to a customer. No one was acting inappropriately. Her boyfriend was giving a fully dressed, dental assistant who I can guarantee makes more money at 18 than that sales clerk, who was standing outside of the dressing room her cell phone so that she could update her mother on her progress. I tried to be the better person. I tried to let customer service know how we were treated. It got me nowhere. As for the sales clerk...karma has already slapped her in the face. Before you talk negatively about someone because you think you are better than them, you might want to be sure that they aren't a straight A student, with a radiology license, a certified dental assistant, attending college in the fall to be a hygienist, who makes double your salary straight out of high school! NEVER going back to that over priced, poorly staffed store again. read more

As with Macy's, I have quite a bit of difficulty finding things I want here. The only exception is shoes. For whatever reason, I can get down with Dillard's shoe selection and have spent more money that I should on a nice pair of leather boots or dressy flats. They both have better sales than where I normally shop and my best friend much prefers Dillard's to Nordstrom. That is the primary reason I find myself here. Another reason I'm not too keen on shopping at Dillard's is because not once did anyone ask us if we needed assistance. Yeah, I get it. We look young and I'm probably in a t-shirt with yoga pants, but that doesn't mean it's okay for you to casually glance up at me periodically for the 45 minutes we're in your store. This never happens to me at Nordstrom -- yet another reason I choose to shop there instead. read more

A afternoon of pain turned interesting as I took my wife and mother shopping at Dillard's - a first for me. A huge store took a while to find the women's petite area where Peggy joyfully met us. Shortly my wife found several items we couldn't find in the Indianapolis area, finally! Peggy was so much help and directed us to the the upper floor so my mother could find shoes. The next salesperson was outstanding, going out of her way to make sure my mother found the the perfect shoe for an important event. Since things were going so well I thought I would find some shoes that every other department told about. Then there was SILENCE, in the men's area there was no one but me, the salesperson busy on his phone. I finally found a shoe and asked about it. He said only the display was available. I went ahead and purchased it but I did not receive the special that was plastered all over the store and mentioned by all the other salespeople, finally his supervisor showed up and explain how the sale worked - I would have to pay now and then come back in two weeks to pick them up?! Anyway except for the men's shoes it was an exceptional day. My mom said it reminded her of shopping in her old days (she's 87 by the way). read more

I went in line at the checkout right before closing and the sales person said 'this person (the person infront of me) is the last I will take but I can put it on hold for you to pick up later." I left the store and didn't bother. I live 45 min. away and it would be a complete inconvenience to come back the following day to pay for something she could have checked out right then and there. One of the worst retail experiences I have ever had. The store has good products at good prices, but the staff is absolutely horrible. The salespeople are obviously under a lot of pressure from management to sell because they are way too aggressive. They come ask you if you need help constantly, to the point of being annoying. One of them even followed me around halfway across the sales floor. At one point, the salesperson that was primarily helping me actually knocked on my dressing room door while I was trying on clothes to ask me to check out since his shift was ending soon, even though I had more shopping to do. This is really bad customer service, but I ultimately didn't think it was that big a deal and agreed so that he could make his commission. But then I went to a different section to continue shopping, and I was suspected of theft by the security staff simply because I had a bag with me. This was a huge embarrassment because the security guard was not discreet at all and the store was very busy. After he had checked my receipt and bag, I asked for a manager to give them feedback about the negative experience, but the manager didn't come in a timely fashion. I was told there was only one manager in the store, which is either not true or woefully inadequate for a department store of that size on a Saturday afternoon. I ended up leaving without speaking to the manager so I am giving my feedback here instead. I will never return to Dillard's. read more

Bought several dresses for my son's wedding. Finally decided on one so I had to return one to Dillards (bought on line using my regular credit card - not Dillards card). Unbeknowst to me - they have a 30 DAY RETURN POLICY - who does that?????? 30 days are you joking???? The dress was still in the box with the tags attached! They would NOT credit my card - but would only give me a gift card - what am I going to do with a $212 gift card - when I need that money for my son's wedding????? Absolutely ridiculous.
