Boscombe News always seems to have whatever I needed to find, they always seem to take in input and have more on the shelves, which keeps in the customers. They have the usual daily papers, sweets/chocolates and nice cheap card selection. Also they try and have household bits and bobs like bin-bags etc, but sadly about 3 shops down there is a Co-op store where you can more than likely find all of this cheaper. Overall 3/5

Its new facelift this year really has improved it, giving it a fresh breath of life into the store. I really used to love Toys R Us as a child, I was only allowed to visit once or twice a year to get christmas and birthday and I loved going round with all the toys. As an adults toys and games still have they're appeal but to me Toys R Us has lost it, catering for cheap quality imported toys to sell easily and it really does annoy me. And the prices aren't competitive at all. Still good for board games and often has 3 for 2 on different brands.

There is easy parking and the store is really easy to navigate. Staff are friendly and helpful and are also very informative on the products on offer. Not the cheapest toy store in town when you have Tesco's Homebase and the entertainer nearby. They also seem to not have everything in stock and tend to sell out of all the newest and most wanted toys so quickly and take ages to get stock back in.

This results in thinner walking areas and when I take a pushchair into the shop I can often get stuck. The shop used to sell papers and sweets etc but now there is a mass of toys, cards, balloons, homewares and anything else I think they might think of to chuck on a shelf. The prices are reasonable compared to other shops but I think they are losing their direction and trying to sell anything and everything, making this particular shop look more like a car boot sale.

They have started to stock a small selection of new toys which are reasonable priced and have a small area for children's clothes. There book section is a good size, based on the shop, and there is a good selection of handbags for sale, some new some secondhand. There is a reasonable sized ladies section and a small mens. Being the PDSA they also stock items for your pets; leads, bowls, treats, toys etc. There is usually only 1 member of staff on but they are friendly and helpful and the shop is clean and tidy.
