I was promised by their office staff that the prescription for my dog would remain at $80.00 until the end of her life. They have since raised the price to $105.00 and pushed the Zoetis website for rewards. The office manager, Sharon, insinuated that I was a liar by saying the practice would never make such a promise. The person who made the promise is no longer employed by them even though the $80 price was documented. Sharon is great at making their clients feel beneath her and making insinuations that they don't know what they are talking about. I would not recommend this practice based my experiences. One plus for this practice is Dr. Amber. She is a great vet. read more

While Doctor Pryer may do great work, the veterinary center is overpriced and the staff is rude. Over the past few weeks we have tried Dillsburg veterinary center as our old vet closed. The staff, particulary Dr. Hlatky, is rude and condescending when talking to patients owners. She continuously tried to imply that our cat would act one way when we told her time and time again that this is not in his personality. She ARGUED with my wife about how our cat acts. Hlatky apparently thinks ALL cats are the same. They try pushing service after service on you and the cost of their services are insane compared to other local vet centers. STAY FAR AWAY if you don't like being talked down to when taking your loved one in for care. read more

BUYER BEWARE!!! This Hospital is expensive!!! I no longer use this hospital because of the high cost. The vet pushes health programs that are pricey. I have spent more for services here than any other northern York county Vet Center. Also, two of the staff have been rude at times. The wife comes across as very greedy and pushy. I've been meaning to write my review for a while now after the horrendous experience I had here over the months of April and May, but it seems karma is taking care of that for me. Dr. Pryor and staff sure were happy and content with the fame and glory during Libre's rescue with how he played such an integral part in saving Libre's life. It was one of the reasons I chose this clinic for my animals upon moving back to the area because I really admired his work and his character. I was disappointed from the very first visit I had up until the last one. Prices are high at vet clinics everywhere but Dr. Pryor and his wife make it a point to go above and beyond in that area. In just two years, we have spent thousands and thousands of dollars for just basic care. A simple tooth extraction for one of my dogs turned out to be close to $2000 when all was said and done, including removing 7 more teeth that weren't even on the radar to be removed. That price tag also included boosters and vaccines that they required my dog have before even touching him, boosters which aren't even required. The most recent experience I had involved thousands of dollars again and countless trips back and forth trying to figure out what was going on with my senior dog, only to basically tell me that she was dying of kidney failure and that we should "be prepared. It's only a matter of time." They failed to initially diagnose the raging UTI she had that had elevated levels for everything else and threw her kidney function off in a severe way. They also failed to initially give her the detailed urine culture she needed so they could prescribe the correct antibiotic that would actually kill the bacteria causing the UTI. That didn't happen until the initial antibiotic made her sick and she vomited for three days - resulting in needing to get her an anti-nausea injection and put her on medication for that. I was told the urine culture would take a few days for results and I didn't get them until 7 days later. My girl suffered for a week without any medication because of their incompetence. When I finally had enough and asked to speak to Dr. Pryor directly about everything that was going on, I was told that he was busy with appointments and that they really didn't know when he'd have the time to give me a quick call back. My girl also needs subcutaneous fluids indefinitely now for her kidneys which I was to administer her at home every other day. For the amount she needs, this came out to two bags a week. They wanted $80 for a bag of fluids purchased at their office. When I asked about having a prescription written so I could purchase them from a place of my choice (where they are about $9 a bag), it took two weeks just to get them to finally give the approval and get the prescription written. They were NOT happy about me wanting to get my prescriptions elsewhere to help save some money and made it as difficult as possible. An immediate change in vets, doing my own research, and here were are, three months later, with a very happy 15 year old doggo who completely turned around from that entire mess and has been doing much better. Her kidney levels have actually decreased and everything else is under control, no thanks to Dillsburg Vet Clinic. The office staff, especially those at the front desk (Debbie, Allie and Brook, I'm looking at you) have awful customer service skills and are anything but pleasant unless you're handing them over your credit card for payment. Calls are not returned in a timely manner and good luck trying to speak to your actual vet for updates on care or test results, especially when they're still not letting humans into the clinic with their animals for appointments. Getting an appointment with Dr. Pryor is almost non-existent these days. It's a shame what has happened to this place. I'm just thankful I broke free and am able to get my dogs the proper care that they deserve. And now the latest with them dropping Speranza as a client? I am not surprised one bit. Followup. I recommended them to a friend. The greed from Sharon in there is phenomenal. Its a shame too because she will cost Dr. Pryor a lot of business. My friend is now crying as her cat is dying. Sharon was only interested in money and lied to her more than once. She told her that her visit was covered then after she went she hit her with a big bill. Then she told them she could not make payment arrangements then later told her that people pay a little each month. Sharon's greed will be their downfall. Dr. Pryor will be better off if he got her out of the office and didn't allow her to deal with customers. My friend had to hang up the phone as someone else was calling through. Sharon kept going on and on and would not stop. I'm taking my friend someone else today and paying her bill. I'm not greedy and put others before money. read more

This is the worst vet I have ever come across. This vet obviously is not in the business of taking care of animals for the right reasons. I called this vet this morning to schedule him to come euthanize my dog so he could die in peace, with dignity and respect. The receptionist called me back right away and scheduled the home visit for 2 pm today and took our payment over the phone. So 2:30 rolls around and I called the vet back because he never showed up, upon speaking to the receptionist again I was told they were calling the vet because they said he got lost but would be right out. Another 45 mins passed and still no vet so I called the office again and this time was told the vet went to the wrong address and headed back to their clinic and would not be able to come to euthanize my dog. They said we could bring him in if we wanted or they would refund the money. I explained bringing him in was not an option as he weighs 95lbs and due to his tumor has become paralyzed in his back legs over night. I asked and pleaded with them to see if they could push another non-emergency patient out so they could come help my dog who is in a lot of pain. Keep in mind this vet clinic is only 6 miles from my house. Where is the humanity that vets are suppose to have? I wouldn't let this vet touch an injured ant. The worse, non caring vet I have ever encountered and I would NEVER recommend this vet to ANYONE!!!! read more

Run! Don't walk to this amazing veterinary office!! From the moment you walk in your pet will feel welcome by water and treats set out on a personalized mat. A calming bandana and music creates a perfect atmosphere where the staff and especially the vets are incredibly thorough, friendly and compassionate like I have never seen before. Amazing and so compassionate!!! We took our 6 year old English Mastiff there for the first time after he wasn't eating for a few days and thought it was just a bad tooth. The got us in same day and ran all the tests right there in the office so we didn't have to wait or come back for the results. Unfortunately, things didn't turn out well for our beloved Boz. They explained what what happening to him and our options. They were so kind and compassionate and really helped us with making one of the hardest and unselfish decisions we have ever had to make. They took such good care of him in his last moments and gave us some wonderful keepsakes to remember our dog. Thank you so much Dr Pryor and staff. I took my 19 year old cat in for a check up. She was always seen by Dr. Amber I think she is the only vet that works here. She recommended having her teeth cleaned and having some pulled.I went ahead with the procedure. After this her kidneys and liver crashed, the tooth extraction had caused her not to eat as much and this was probably a contributing factor in the crash. My cat ended up needing iv fluids and then needing a feeding tube. She was in and out of the vets office for about a week. When she came home I was feeding her through the tube, but she wouldn't use the restroom. So I took her to the vet again to get an enema and help her move her bowels. Now though the health care and customer service up to this point seemed good and other veterinarians I talked to later said that it was good, it goes down hill from here. I brought my cat home and she had diarrhea, I gave her a bath to clean her, blow dryed her for a bit then wrapped her in a couple of towels leaving her in the litterbox so she could finish as she seemed to be straining. An hour later I called the vet office and informed them she still seemed to be straining and having some kind of contractions. They called me back and said that was normal and she was just straining to use the restroom. My cat then became very unresponsive as I attempted a second bath and I rushed her limp body to the vet where she quickly died. Dr Amber said she believed she died of hypothermia because she was so cold when she came in. But I had given her a luke warm bath and the room was like 70 degrees and she was wrapped in 2 towels and also blow dried for a few minutes. She had maybe inhaled some water from the second bath when she first fell limp and I wasn't holding her because I thought she had enough strength to stand as she had just about an hour ago. I was very emotional at this point and after questioning the vet about how she froze to death in a warm house the vet said "she probably didn't have the strength to warm back up again." I left for an hour to collect myself and when I came back to collect the body I told the assistant who brought her out to me that "you should probably warn people a cat in this condition could develop hypothermia very easily from a warm bath, and basically just being wet in a room temperature house." The assistant I said this too replied "well I told you not to give her a bath because you might get her bandages wet." I then took my cats body home in the box they gave me. She was wrapped very unprofessionally in a random multicolored bath-towel and if you can believe this placed inside of a random shipping box; corners folded in, no tape, and a receipt for the delivery of medical supplies completely unrelated to me or my pet at the bottom of the box under my cats body. They didn't even have a cardboard burial box or anything looking remotely professional or respectful like I had seen at other vet offices. I was too shook up to say anything about the box she was in. The next day I went to rossymoyne emergency center, after calling winding hill veterinarian center. They both basically said that cats with bad kidney/liver, can develop cardiac problems, and then get a bloodclot/stroke/embolism that would cause there brain to start shutting down and give them hypothermia. This made sense according to what I read online. And according to them was probably what killed my cat. Rossmoyne said it probably wasn't the bath because that didn't make any sense. Plus dillsburg knew my cat would have diarrhea and require cleaning, so even if the bath had killed her without being warned to make sure she stayed extra warm or something I wouldn't have been able to do anything. So because I was incorrectly lead to believe that I killed my cat by giving her a room temperature bath, and because of the fact that they gave me her body in a re-purposed cardboard shipping box containing a receipt, I have to give them 1 star. update - Called the vet herself and she did not offer a refund and confirmed the re-purposed box is standard procedure at her clinic. She didn't offer an apology or anything, and the vet herself further reiterated that i should not have given her a bath due to the bandages, and so she didn't feel providing further instruction about keeping her extra warm after cleaning was necessary. I mentioned that they said she would make a mess and they clearly expected her to have diarrhea, and she said something like "Well just rinsing of the back end yea." I now have doubts about how the care was up to this point. She doesn't seem to have a good idea what caused my cat to suddenly die and seems to want to blame me for trying to clean diarrhea off of my cat. And kind of put down what the other 2 vets told me about a blood clot being a likely culprit. The vet at Rossmoyne was very nice and kept reiterating that she got good care and that I took care of her ect. The vet here at dillsburg was frankly kind of rude after my pet died. read more

I began going to this vet because they were close to my house. Now they are further away, but i wouldnt trade this clinic for anything. Dr Pryor is very thorough and seems to REALLY care about my dog. The staff is always upbeat and very helpful. They have really been good to me and very adaptable to my situation ( i am disabled and sometimes things are done a little differently :) It's always a pleasure doing business with their caring staff. When my last little dog died, they were SO thoughtful and helpful in getting through that hard time. They really cared about me and my baby. This is a great vet who will be very thorough and check everything with your animal - he seems to treat my dog as if it were his own and he wanted to be SURE of everything to help my dog. I chose this facility to care for my two dogs because I really thought they were in the business for the animals not the almighty dollar. Well...I learned the hard way! They have taken the story of Libre and used it to take advantage of good people. I was charged over $400 for my 2 small dogs to be boarded for 3 days because they stated they needed an influenza shot and flea treatment. I accepted this and paid the first time, but when I go to board again with them 2 weeks later, they want to charge me $400 again for the 2nd round of shots and of course another doctor visit. I have come to find out, they are one of the very few, if not only, facility requiring these shots. And, I have been informed by other professionals in the industry that this area is not a high risk for the flu in dogs. I would pay any amount for the good care of my dogs, but will never pay a dime to someone that knows that and takes advantage of it. Truly ashamed someone sleeps comfortably knowing they have taken advantage of people that trust them!!!!! read more
