    Salted egg custard buns

Great food! Went at around dinner time and there were no customers. I decided to give the restaurant a chance and it paid off! The chili wontons were good but can be very vinegary and salty for some- but for me I love vinegar! Dan Dan noodles were great. The custard buns were a bit dry because of the dough that was used. Would come again

Trying all the dumpling places popping up like hot cakes in the SGV and this place is solid if you want a quick fix. Since Good Alley in Rosemead was SOOOOO good I was hoping that this one would be similar. It is not unfortunately. What I ordered: Juicy pork and crab dumplings (B+)- not as savory as I hoped for and did not have the fresh crab essence when you bite into it and all the juices come out Pan fried juicy dumplings (A-) - Kang Kang food court still reigns but this is a close 2nd! Lamb Skewers (A+) - the best thing on the menu was this! Fatty, juicy, savory, and addictive! Would come back JUST for these! Har Gow (B) - portion was small but tastes like your typically har gow. Nothing impressive to note. Shui Mai (B) - portion was also small but holds true to what a shui mai should taste like Spicy Dan Dan noodles (B+) - would be perfect if cooked a little more al dente. The flavors are there but the texture was more on the mushy side Would definitely give this place another whirl and try their other items. Service was prompt and the interior was clean. Parking is behind the building but if you're there during peak weekend hours you gotta stalk to find a spot!

    I love this chives pockets.

It was the New Year's Eve and most restaurants are either closed or would close earlier. We drove around Main Street and saw this restaurant. It wasn't crowded but Yelp had some good reviews. We decided to give it a try. There was a table and the couple turned around and told us how good the chocolate dumplings were and they shared what they ordered. We browsed through the menu and decided to try the rainbow dumplings and sample each style of dumplings before ordering more. We really like the juicing chicken dumplings and put in another order. Ww tried the chives pockets and it was amazingly crispy on the outside and good filling. For dessert, we ordered the chocolate dumplings. The filling is not only chocolate filling but also filled with butter, no wonder it was so smooth. It was a very good New Year's Eve dinner. We will come back and try other dumplings and more desserts for sure. Special thanks to the owner who served us. We were your last table and you didn't make us feel rushed! Happy New Year.

We were pleasantly surprised , they were delicious and reasonable pricing. The restaurant is small but you can see regulars coming to this place . Server /staff was attentive and food came at the right time. We will definitely come back again. They have cute Instagram worthy dessert.

I was excited to try a new dim sum place near work. The restaurant appears to be clean and they have really cute dim sum signs on their windows. I ordered three items to go: beef wraps, wonton in chili oil, and shrimp & pork siu mai. The beef wrap was probably the best out of the three items ordered. In my opinion, it needs a lot more green onions and cilantro. The wonton in chili oil is a hard pass for me. The wonton filling was barely there, and the texture was extremely soft. After a couple of pieces, I decided to toss them because I didn't want to risk getting sick. For me, soft-textured cooked meat is an indication of a bad outcome for my tummy. I normally enjoy shrimp and pork siu mais at most dim sum locations, but if you're like me, sensitive to the gaminess of pork meat, it'll be a hard pass for you too. I ate one and threw the rest away. So after $40 spent on lunch, I only consumed the $13 beef wrap. Also, I ordered at the restaurant, and my order took over 20 minutes to be ready. I would have appreciated it if they had informed me ahead of time how long the siu mai would take to be ready before charging me. The explanation provided is that it takes 15 minutes to fully cook. Okay, no problem. I can appreciate freshly cooked food. Just a little heads up would have been nice, so I can either adjust my order or wait. I wish I had ordered across the street for some dim sum.

This location used to be the rice noodle place and now it changed to the Dim Sum Dumpling House. I don't know why they are called "Dim Sum" though, this is not a Hong Kong-style dim sum place, it's Shanghainese-style cuisine. The "dim sum" they are referring to are Xiao Long Bao, Har Gow, pork siu-mai, pork buns, and sticky rice, etc. They also have Chinese-style wontons and dumplings, beef noodle soup, and beef wraps, etc. Because it's not an authentic Hong Kong-style dim sum place, so I would rather have authentic Shanghaiese-style dishes instead. I tried it with my mom on the weekend and it was full of people inside. We were seated immediately because there was an empty table. The place was pretty much like the Rice Noodle place before and they did not have much decor. We ordered my favorite XLB (Xiao Long Bao-juicy pork dumplings 8 pcs for $9.99), chicken skewers ($8 for 4 skewers), and vegetable spring rolls because they sold out of the chives pockets ($5.99 for 4 pcs). They first served us the vegetable spring rolls, the vegetable spring-rolls were pretty good. They were crispy and had many vegetables inside. The Chicken Skewers - the chicken meat was tender but they did not grill it though. They used another method to cook the chicken skewers so they were less flavorful and tasted pretty bland. For the juicy pork dumplings, they were just so-so. The skin was a bit thick and the top was a bit hard. The pork meat was smooth and some pork dumplings were juicy but some were not. Hit and miss. The price was not bad and they have many variety of food to choose from. The service could be better because only one server on that day and she looked stressed.

Late review. Came here around mid September of '24 since we had errands to run nearby. We came for a late lunch, and there were a few tables taken. The interior is small. The largest table can seat 4, unless they're willing to put them together. There were some interesting items on the menu, but primarily known for dumplings. Our orders: bean paste noodles, aka ja jiang mein. The sauce was great, but the noodles were soft, not chewy. It resembled spaghetti that's been in the water too long. Juicy fish XLB, a nice take on the traditional buns. Nice flavor but the amount of fish is minuscule. They really could've wrapped a bit more in there. Mala spicy pork XLB. Thinking this would be very spicy, it wasn't. That's a good thing. The flavor wasn't bad, with a subtle flavor of mala. Your mouth won't have that numbing sensation, and good even without hot chili oil. Pork & chives dumpling were also pretty good. Nothing really stood out since this is ubiquitous around the SGV, but we enjoyed it. The service was ... decent. They were nice, but in severe need of training. Our server could not engage in any short exchange of words, and usually when I make eye contact with the staff across the room, they'll walk over to check up on us. She'll see us , then look back down at her phone, several times. I finally had to waive my hand. Here, I kept looking at our server who is behind the counter. Our table wasn't cleared of plates, our water needed a refill, and we waited for the check. Still, not a bad place to visit for pretty good food. Maybe skip on the noodles until they can offer some chewy, more al dente ones. Hopefully, the servers will have gained some experience or training to engage customers and know when to go by and check up on them.

As we walked in, I was reminded of the old establishment that was once here (Nha Trang), it was pretty empty upon arrival. We were seated immediately and blessed with the menu. The menu is small, there wasn't much of vegetables as options which was a bummer, it was more on the high carb on the menu, not many proteins to choose from. I mean its a dim sum dumpling house, what do you expect right? The dan dan noodles was more on the salty side, I was expecting more of the ground pork and probably the bok choy which would've cut the creamyness of the peanut sauce.

This spot gets 4 stars simply for the pan fried juicy buns. I've been searching for a pan fried juicy bun that can rival the Kang Kang Food Court in Alhambra. Dim Sum Dumpling House matches up in both soup flavor and bun thickness. Typically there is too much bun wrapped around the meat at most places, they're usually very thick and overwhelms the filling. We also ordered the sticky rice and pork siu mai, cuttlefish ink juicy pork dumplings, spicy wontons, rainbow juicy dumplings and salted egg custard buns for dinner. All of which were decent dumplings. I probably won't order the salted egg buns from here, there was not enough salted egg cream filling and I'm not a fan of the shredded coconut on the outside. This place gets bonus points for the cute chipmunk that shows up when you pour sauce I to your sauce dish.

We were starving and were exited to try Dim Sum Dumping House based on the good reviews. However, the dishes we got felt a bit short. This location took over the previous Nha Trang express. Hubby and I shared: Wonton Soup - this was the best item actually, nice and hot, comes in 10 pcs Dan Dan Noodles - I've never had this dish cold. Pork and shrimp siu mai - contains bits of rubbery meat that cannot be chew. Rainbow Dumplings - very bland, not each one has any taste, only vinegar/soy sauce when dipped in Custard Lau Sa Bao bunnies - again very bland, feels like I'm just eating a bunny bun with some orange coloring. The service was good, our waitress was attentive. However, it's too bad we were disappointed in the items we ordered.

Was excited to have a dumpling house on Main St. that served dim sum all day. Dim Sum Dumpling House took over an old, small pho spot. My husband and I came in for an early dinner. We picked a good time. It was not full and there was no wait. We were greeted and seated right away. I had been craving dim sum for a while so it was hard to narrow down what I wanted. We finally decided on: - Rainbow Juicy Dumplings - Beef Skewers - Vegetable Chow Mein - Pork and Shrimp Siu Mai - Thai tea to drink We also ordered the Cartoon Red Bean Bun to go. So cute! The food was ok. I honestly had higher expectations. The siu mai had an overly mushy consistency that was not pleasing. The chow mein was good. The juicy dumplings were underwhelming. A couple had good flavor but the dough was a little hard and chewy in some spots. The service was great. I might have to give it another try since all the other reviews are good and I heard good things about this place from a friend. I was disappointed that my first impression didn't meet expectations.

Our group ordered a full table of food to try and share together. We had some mix reviews and some items we felt were just okay. We tried juicy pork and crab dumplings (xlb), lamb pie, beef wraps, pork & shrimp wonton (could use some extra flavor in the soup), noodle with bean paste and wonton in chili oil (oil turned out to be sweet not spicy). Table favorite was Pan Frief Juicy Bun. We enjoyed this so much that we ordered another after eating. Plenty of street parking. Staff and service was nice. Bathroom was clean.

Overall the food is just okay. XLB - 4/5 - this was my favorite out of the dishes we got, I would definitely order this again. Har gow - 1/5 - not going to lie, if you've ever had the frozen har gow from ranch 99, it tastes like that. Even the size the and shape looks exactly like them. It's also mushy on the inside. Not good unfortunately Pork siu mai - 3.5/5 - the texture was weird and spongy. Wonton in chili oil - 4/5 - this was pretty good! I dipped in a bunch of their chili oil, which made it taste more similar to the din tai fung dumplings Overall, I'm rooting for this mom and pop! Giving them 4 stars because I don't want to ruin their rating.

Seafood here is a great option, portions are huge for most dishes, making it perfect to share. My favorite among the dishes is certainly the Walnut Shrimp. It's a classic amongst plenty of Chinese restaurants and Lunasia is up there when it comes to quality. Overall, a decent experience, been here plenty of times for dimsum and it's always quick and quality food. Dinner was decent but nothing too over the top. You have to scan a QR code to get to the menu so you don't really see what you're getting other that the picture you see on your phone. This place by the way is way pricier than actually better dimsum restaurants. So the food came out.. Pork spare ribs w/ blackbean sauce - the meat was chewy, almost tough to eat, and with a generous hint of MSG. Taro with chinese sausage - bland taro base, stale topping of supposed to be ground chinese sausage. Chicken feet - overcooked Water spinach - pale green, unfresh taste, two bites and I had yo give it up. Salt and pepper pork chop - this is ordinary at best compared to places in Monterey Park and Rowland and Hacienda Heights. Beef Chow fun - the only thing we mostly ate. Shrimp and pork siumai - I was so disappointed I list my appetite by this time. Needless to say, we felt like we wasted our $100 plus tax and tip..$120.00 + , for two prople for dimsum. We left the taro and water spinach and took home more than we ate because maybe I can tweak the left overs at home. Have I talked about the service yet? I will not because it was almost non- existent. I get it's Sunday lunch, but really? We never got the water we asked for but the oolong tea was decent. Again, very disappointing experience. I would have taken bad service with good food but bad service and bad food? One star and not a damn little spark more. Get in the game Lunasia in Alhambra!

I was so hungry I didn't even let my phone eat 1st like the yelped I am, but only remembered to take a photo after we had eaten at least half our plates! Having grown up with NYC and SF dim sum, NBC is one of the few Los Angeles area places that has the selection and flavors of my childhood. Some favorites were the har gow, taro puffs, and tripe. We got the roast duck but it wasn't very meaty or flavorful. We got the congee which was ok, but lacked any definite personality. The chewy fried dumplings were more dough than filling. The siu mai and veggie dumplings were both solid. I didn't try the bitter melon or turnip cakes because I don't like the taste of either, but I was happy to see them available. We got a claypot rice dish with spare ribs and Chinese sausage which was good but the rice was not crispy on the bottom. I saw they had chicken feet, which I usually love but they didn't look appetizing enough to order. Would definitely go back for other dishes and with more people so we could sample more selections.

Rolling cart service... with friendly efficiency from the women pushing the carts...wide variety available...many same items with choices of meat....shrimp, beef, bbq pork, chicken fillings......things meant to be hot were hot, fried things were crunchy and not greasy.. Things that were delicious: The pineapple bun with the custard filling. 5/5 The beefball, well formed, with the nicest visible chunks of water chestnuts and strong cilantro flavor...usually this meat dish has a hint of orange rind, which I don't like...so I was happy the meatball was more cilantro forward. 5/5 The long rice noodle with beef...also we had the the same with bbq pork were delish. 5/5 for all three...as we also had the shrimp one, my party ate it all up first. I didn't eat the chicken feet, but it was enjoyed by all. The siu mai were large and made with shrimp, which I can't eat, but our party of 6 enjoyed. The platterful of soy chicken was enjoyed by all, just beware the chicken head will be included if you are squeamish. The soy chicken feet, also seemed to please. No one rushed us out even though the dim sum service was over by 3 pm. We had a leisurely meal and waiters made sure to come by and refill our tea kettles. I really enjoyed Capital Seafood today. About 10 years ago, I had a bad experience with takeout roasted duck, so I avoided coming back, but things change for the better.....food was great...and clearly a lot of diners packed thr place and were smiling and laughing as they dined.... I even enjoyed watching the staff change the dining room to accommodate a large banquet later this evening, which included the assembly of a large stage/dais. Very interesting how the waiters transformed the dining room to accommodate the needs of the banquet to come. Well done staff!!

Perfect family dim sum experience for us…read more We took out my parents and in-laws for dim sum: my parents' very first time ever. We did wait about an hour, but honestly I didn't mind at all because it gave us a chance to relax, talk, and catch up as a family. Once we were seated, my parents were immediately impressed with the decor: elegant and cultural without feeling overly modern or cold. And can we talk about the tea kettles? They looked like literal pieces of art being poured at the table. Ordering was super easy with the QR code system, so my husband handled the whole spread: shumai dumplings, chicken feet, sesame balls, and more. Everything came out hot, fresh, and beautifully plated. The ENTIRE table agreed on one thing: the chili oil condiment deserves to be sold in bottles to take home. It was that good. Smoky, just the right amount of spicy, and addictive. Now for the real test: my in-laws. They've been to *many* dim sum places and are not easily impressed. They declared this place to have the best chicken feet that they've ever had: meat easily sucked off the bone, melt-in-your-mouth tender, and perfectly seasoned. High praise coming from dim sum veterans. Most importantly, my parents' first dim sum experience couldn't have been better. They loved everything from the ambiance to the food to the overall experience. My husband and I want to come back to explore more of the menu because there's clearly so much more to try

This location is pretty spacious and even has a second floor for dining. Though we were seated inside, a lot of people were coming in and out for take out. The waitress was kind but apparently had to bring the receipt back because the staff was claiming we already received it.

Everything is ordered by piece, so you can mix and match exactly what you want by filling out the form. Came by on a Saturday craving a few things and ordered siu mai, har gow, BBQ pork buns, ham sui gok, and sesame balls. Once you place your order, everything comes out pretty fast. Overall the items are decent and definitely hit the craving. The BBQ pork bun was a little dry for me, but I liked the sesame balls and ham sui gok, nice and crispy on the outside with a chewy texture. Solid spot if you're in a rush or just want a quick dim sum fix.

I have been going to this place to satisfy my dim sum cravings ever since it used to be "Fong's Dim…read moreSum" back in the 1980's. Yes, that's how long this place has survived & for good reason. They were the first to serve fresh & tasty dim sum to-go for a reasonable price at good value due to their big portion sizes. However, my son & I, went there recently & ordered the usual Siu Mai, Baked BBQ Bun & Steamed BBQ bun. We usually call in our orders in advance to avoid the long wait outside but this time things seem off. Firstly, the lady cannot understand our order & we were put on hold while there seem to be a banter between her & a gentlemen inside for sometime. Secondly, when we finally got there & picked up the order, one of the items given was wrong. Instead of Char Siu Bao, we had Har Gow. So, we waited for another 15 minutes more to get the correct item. When we got home & opened the bags, the Siu Mai had gotten smaller & the worst part is that one of the Baked BBQ Bun had a cockroach pressed on the outside layer of the bun (see picture). I tried to contact the owner first to let them know so it can be corrected before posting it here but no one called. I know that this can affect their "safety food rating" & thus their sales. But if there was indeed a change in management or ownership, they need to fix the sizing portion & bug problem so they could live up to the history & expectations of their loyal clientele.
