I'm not impressed by the size of food portion you gave to 80 community members at our banquet using your place. It's unbelievable small and the manager left too early and we are not able to reach him to discuss about food portion issue. Drink arrived late. It's a major rip off given the size of portion & service you left us and you are overcharging us way too much for little food. imagine the 5 small dishes and it looks like cost less than 20 bucks and you are charging us $500 for each table of 10 plus we paid the tips! No pushcarts to order but rather you fill out a paper with what you want based on pictures and wait staff bring out. Food came out and all was piping hot. Everything was pretty tasty with the exception of the clams which were a bit sandy, and the portion was small for the $13.95 price tag. Standouts included the beef tripe, eggplant, and the shrimp with tofu was a first for me. There is a charge for tea based on which one you order ranging from $1-$1.50. It was a very busy Sunday, I saw a line out the door, so I knew it must be good. I went to the hostess stand, put myself on a waitlist, and they gave me a paper ticket number and within 5 minutes I got sat. I got a table for one and ordered a hot tea, B.B.Q. Pork buns (3) and shrimp rice noodle roll. The food was really good. The pork buns were so fresh and warm. They ripped apart perfectly and were steaming when they came out. They were so yummy. Sometimes when I order them they're hard and crispy... these were not. They were perfect! After the BBQ pork buns came out and I ate them and then then server said "ready for the check?", I felt like I was being rushed out. Then I told him I was still waiting on the shrimp rice noddle roll. For the rest of my stay I felt like I needed to hurry as they had people waiting to be sat. As for the shrimp rice noodle roll it was so good too, sometimes it all falls apart but these did not. They were wrapped well and super tasty. Overall a great experience. We love going to Chinatown as it is always an experience--the energy, the sights, and of course, the food. We stopped in here for a quick dim sum lunch as a party of two. While dim sum is definitely better with a big group (so you can try a bit of everything!), we made it work with what we had. The Highlights: The shrimp dumplings (Har Gow) were excellent. The skins were perfectly translucent and the shrimp inside was fresh and snappy. We also really enjoyed the pork and chicken dumplings; the flavor was well-balanced and they arrived piping hot. Unfortunately, the pork ribs were actually terrible. They were the low point of the meal and, looking back, I definitely should have sent them back to the kitchen. I'd recommend skipping those and sticking to the traditional dumplings instead. Even with the "miss" on the ribs, you can't beat the atmosphere of a busy Chinatown dining room. Next time I'll bring a bigger crew so we can cover more of the menu! read more

My relatives took me to Dim Sum Palace for the first time and every time I'm in town I expect some good dim sum. The food here genuinely surprised me because everything came out super fresh and hot. We ordered a BUNCH of dishes that I lost track of taking pictures, but a few really stood out. The steamed spare ribs were hot, tender, and flavorful; the taro pieces mixed in were great too. The chicken feet were cut in half for convenience and the taste and texture were spot on. The hargow surprised me with filling that was mostly shrimp which is sometimes too much to ask for sadly. My favorite might've been the honeycomb tripe (not the one in the stew). It came out steaming and had that ideal bounce without being chewy, I'm pretty sure I cleaned more than half of it. Overall, the freshness and heat of every dish made a huge difference. The restaurant had a great vibe and service was good although they accidentally charged us an extra order of chicken feet (which was resolved when we pointed it out). I really liked this place, they have a good variety of dim sum and main dishes. They are open till 3am which is a huge bonus and unlike alot of places in chinatown, they accept credit cards. Another Dim Sum Palace opening up, this time in the heart of Chinatown. The ones in Midtown I feel are pretty whitewashed, but it's pretty legit here. I came here for a birthday dinner and a feast was to be had. Loved every dished that was ordered. Some of the highlights for me were the Walnut Shrimp, Peking Duck, Dungeness Crab Cantonese Style, Lobster Fried Rice, and Chilean Sea Bass. The service was attentive and it was easy to flag someone down if needed. Here you order by marking your selections on a paper menu. While it is not the traditional dim sum cart experience, it does mean you will not be bombarded with carts the moment you sit down, which some may prefer. After handing in your order, the server brings back an itemized receipt. Do not worry because you can always add more dishes. They don't have your typical dim sum carts, which I prefer. Our order included some of the following: Peking duck (half), shrimp and pork fried rice (huge portion!), shrimp and pork Shu Mai (must try!), crispy garlic spare ribs, BBQ pork with BBQ sauce, and pan-fried turnip cake. The restaurant is very spacious with plenty of seating and is is open late (3:00 a.m.). Minus 1 star since we had to flag down our waiter a couple times to get his attention for water refills.
