TLDR: the owner of this company screamed at my 19 year old daughter and her friends and forced her to drive a car they deemed totaled off his lot, refusing to allow her to wait for a tow truck to arrive, putting her safety and well-being at risk. And I will absolutely be contacting a lawyer about this, Nic. My car was in an accident from the snow at the beginning of January. Despite negative Yelp reviews, I called D&T on 1/16 to discuss receiving my car and working up an estimate for all the damage, informing them that I might be paying out of pocket for the repairs and would be fixing it even if the insurance company refused to pay for it. Zack ensured me that they would be happy to take my car and have a look at it. The car was delivered to D&T on Friday1/17 around 9 am. I had not heard back from them by Monday 1/20 so I called to see if they had a chance to look at it and prepare an estimate. I was informed that they couldn't find the key the tow truck left on the vehicle. After assisting them in finding the key I was told they would have an estimate right away. Several days later I called for an update and was told that from a visual inspection it would be totaled, at which point I again requested a full estimate, including suspension/engine damage. I was told they would get it up on the rack and have a look at it and let me know but would email me an estimate for what they could see just from looking at the car. This was sent on 1/28. Mind you, I am a surgical nurse without the ability to use my phone during operations and also work the exact same hours they are open, since they are only open M-F 8-5. I patiently waited over a month to hear anything back from them, without my car or even a rental the entire time. At the urging of one of my coworkers, I finally decided to have the car towed to another body shop that she had very positive experiences with. Again, because of their hours, I had to send my daughter to oversee the towing and collect the key from D&T. When she arrived she spoke with Nic, who told her that the estimate they conducted initially was adequate because they considered the car totaled and also refused to give her the key, stating she would have to pay $125/day for holding the car for over a month. The tow truck left after she was unable to collect the key and was then told by Nic, the owner, that he might be able to work out a deal for the "storage fee" (which at no point during my conversations with Zack over several phone calls and an email was ever disclosed) if we wanted them to do the work. Which sounds an awful lot like extortion NIC, if not at the very least a disgusting attempt to bully a 19 year old girl. I called Zack, he remembered our conversations about the estimates, stating they never did a full estimate because the car was deemed totaled from a visual inspection of the exterior of the car and deployed airbags. I again explained that I needed the estimate for ALL the damage, as I would potentially be paying outright for the repairs but also to compare estimates from other shops. I also reminded him that a storage fee was never disclosed during our conversations and if the key was not turned over to my daughter immediately that I would be reporting the car as stolen. He told me Nic was the owner and handling this now and that I would have to talk with him. Nic returned my call, condescending, calling me honey, and reiterating all the things I had already discussed with Zack. He attempted to mention doing the work and working out a deal for the storage fee. I let him know that I was no longer interested in doing business with them and would be reporting the car as stolen, as well as reporting him to the BBB. He screamed at me to get the car off the lot and proceeded to yell at me over the phone, at which point I disconnected the call. I called my daughter to let her know to call the tow truck back and while I was on the phone with her overheard him screaming at her and her friends that they had 5 minutes to get the vehicle off his property. He forced her to drive a car that his shop deemed totaled by refusing to allow her to wait for the tow company to send another truck out. I highly suggest going literally ANYWHERE else. The negative Yelp reviews were spot on. Zack was nice and respectful but unfortunately has to defer to the completely deranged, unequivocally unethical, dishonest, misogynistic, rude and DANGEROUS owner. To force a young girl to drive a totaled vehicle off your lot to prove a point and throw a tantrum is the most disgusting display of a business owner I have ever encountered and I am very anxious to hear what an attorney has to say about all of this. read more

Extremely rude people!!!! Never been so disrespected when seeking a service. The second I informed them I was going to be paying out of pocket the owner threw his hand in my face and said let me stop you right there we don't deal with customers that aren't using there insurance. I can only assume that they are ripping your insurance off and that's the reason for that ridiculous rule. I wish there were more than five stars! My teenage daughter had a fender bender and worked hard saving to have the damage repaired. I wanted to go to a shop that would not only fix my car, but also would be a positive learning experience for her. Not only were they prompt when we pulled up for a quote, they treated my daughter with respect as the customer. They were honest, fair and excellent communicators. When replacing the bumper took longer than expected, they wanted to "make it right" and took a dent out, free of charge! As a mother you want your children to learn from people who are honest, professional and kind. Zach was all of those and more. The absolute best surprise was picking up my vehicle to find it had been thoroughly detailed!!! With two teenagers, I have had a great deal of experience with body shops, none have given my car back cleaner than it arrived. This life lesson was costly for my daughter, but I could not have asked for a more professional one. They treated her with respect, no judgement and praised her for working to pay for the repairs herself! Nic and the crew are amazing at what they do. I was in a 4-car accident, and they made my Chevy Silverado back to where it was (or better) before the accident. Beyond their great work, their customer service blew me away. I quickly realized Nic was on my side with the whole back-and-forth with the insurance company. The communication was fantastic and he was very kind to work around my schedule of when I was able to bring my vehicle in. Right before I brought my vehicle in to have my back bumper replaced, a woman backed into the front of my car causing a little bit of cosmetic damage. When I brought it in Keith walked out with me and assured me it was going to be okay and he would make it look better. And he sure did!!! My car looks fantastic! This car repair shop provided me with the most stunning display of customer service I have received in years. My car needed repair as it was involved in a fender bender. I was calling around getting estimates and Nic was so friendly and kind when I called. She asked me to email her my estimate. So I did just that - but she didn't get my email so she called me back to let me know she hadn't receive it and wanted to make sure I was still sending it over. She asked me to bring my car by the shop and I did so later that day. Before I went to Dings and Things, I went to a different repair shop. When I walked in the *other* repair shop, I had to ask the front desk person for help and wait for a response. I was not feeling good about using the other place, especially after they told me my car would be in their shop for many weeks. So I brought my car to Dings and Things, walked in the door and I kid you not, I felt like family. These employees - every single person working in that shop - made me feel welcomed, accommodated and helped! I felt hugged... like they wanted me to be comfortable. I literally felt like I was working with family members. After a quick inspection they told me they would need my car for a only a week. Since I didn't have rental reimbursement coverage on my insurance (all consumers should purchase this coverage! Don't make my mistake!) they offered me a rental at an extremely fair price. Turns out, my car was totaled, so they didn't actually do any work but my experience warrants this feedback. I will definitely bring my next car to this repair shop. The staff and quality of work at Dings N Things are the best experience I have ever received with any body shop EVER. There are some pretty awful body shops here in town, and I had not heard of this shop before I went on yelp to find a decent one. This had good reviews and was conveniently located for me. Stephanie, Nic, and all the others at the shop were super helpful and friendly. They took the time to really talk with me about what I wanted and explained my options in a way that wasn't condescending or bullying, but informative and helpful. The car was fixed really quickly and the work done was amazing. I've received several compliments about how good my car looks. They also went above and beyond with fixing things that hadn't been initially noticed and they didn't try to price gouge me, quite the opposite, they did everything they could to give me quality work for the best price possible. The final cost was lower than the original estimate including the extras they did. I recommend coming here to anyone that wants to be treated well, get great work done at a more than fair price quickly, and doesn't want to deal with the hassle, run around, and slick condescending price gouging some other places put you through. read more
