I had my hair done with Dennis couple of times before: bleached and toned and I was pretty happy with it! This time I wanted to have a bit darker hair. So I sent him 2 images of the hair co9lor and he said ok, no problem.The color was supposed to be like light beige and it turned out light BROWN VIOLET. Nothing I was looking for. . Dennis was saying it looks GREAT and it will lighten up in 20 washes. But I have a headshot tomorrow and I cant wash my hair 20 times and see if it lightens up. He also was saying about my DNA is different so it doesn't take the color. That is bullshit. I have NEVER ever gotten those kind of answers...the top hairstylist in NYC always fixed the hair.Dennis didn't even offer that to me. I was so upset with his explanation . I must going back to Beverly Hills, my salon I used to go. If you are a hair stylist and you make a mistake, at least admit it. So after being in a total "hair funk" for 5+ yrs, I decided to bite the bullet and finally reach out for HELP. I was referred to Lea Ann @ Dino Clark Salon by TINT......what needed to be done to my hair was some serious color correction and I needed a real expert in this dept. After getting over the shock of just how messed-up my hair really was, I called Lea Ann and set-up a consultation with her. She was really polite over the phone and gave me an appt. within the week...totally painless, the consult took 20min. When I first walked into Dino Clark, I felt really welcome in a sincere way. Lea Ann met with me and let me know just what needed to be done to make my hair normal again. The receptionist was very nice, offered me a beverage and set my appt. Well I had my appt. yesterday @ 3:30. They remembered me as soon as I walked in! I knew this was going to be a long appt(4+ hrs), but it went by really fast. MELISSA KAY IS A HAIR GOD. And I haven't wanted to share her, but fine. It's only fair. I've yet to find someone as great as she is in all my years! I've been coming to Melissa for 4 years long before it was Dino Clark and after my last appointment I realized I needed to share her fabulousity with the world. First- Melissa is a perfectionist. From highlights to color and cut, she is truly an expert and even more importantly, is cautious and takes your hair seriously! I'm the type of person who will want to change it up on a whim, and she will encourage me to keep growing it out-- or if I do want a cut, she'll make sure it's exactly what I want and that it's been thought out. Last time, she wouldn't let me cut bangs because she knows I'll regret it! She's done a fun short bob with bangs that everyone complimented me on for months, and then she helped me to grow it out long again. Just last week, I went in for a new look and she took me to a beautiful bright blonde with a long blunt bob. I love them! My stylist is Lea Ann Calloway and she is amazing. I originally went to TINT but switched because my schedule was just too jammed to have highlights at one salon and cut at another. Both are awesome but I prefer going to Dino Clark. My hair is straight, really straight and fine with blonde highlights and darker low lights to give it definition, dimension, and body. It really looks amazing. She is an amazing color correction specialist, which is how I initially found her. I went to another salon and they left my hair half blonde and half burnished coppery color that was really really bad. Needless to say I was hysterical and she worked me in and is sweet and very sympathetic! She managed to fix my hair without 'frying' it which can easily happen to fine hair when highlighted blonde. My hair is in great condition, is soft and not dry brittle or over dyed thanks to her. I know my photo shows brown hair - that was prior to Lea Ann styling and cutting it. I just don't want to swap out the picture because it is my favorite one of my husband and I. lol If you want beautiful hair I highly recommend Lea Ann at Dino Clark Salon. She is not as expensive as the Rodeo Drive Salons and she does a better job. read more

I recently wrote a review about The End salon where I have been going for the past 3 years and about my stylist Taline! Unfortunately they closed their doors for good at the end of July and Taline has moved to Dino Clark Salon...THANK GOD! I was afraid at first that I would have to find another stylist, which is a daunting task and because I'm so attached to Taline as it is. Every stylist at Dino Clark is essentially a contractor. They rent their space out. I can't speak for the other stylists, but I only care about Taline anyway. I HIGHLY recommend you see her. She'll take very good care of your hair from color to cut to style. Read my review of her at The End and you will see why I adore her. I took my friend to see her this past weekend because she was in dire need of a cut. My friend left very happy! Dino Clark is a very busy salon, which is the polar opposite of what I was used to at The End. It's good and bad. Good because I like people watching and there's plenty to see at Dino Cark. Bad because when your hair is being dyed and up in a funky do, you might not look your best for the cutie in the chair next to you. It's a bit of a trendy salon, but everyone seems very nice. There is 1 hour free validated parking, which is located on Marine. After an hour I believe the cost is $1.50 for each additional 15 minutes. However, the parking attendant is so flirtatious that if you're a cute girl, you may not have to pay too much... ;-) Ahhh life is so much easier when you're a good looking female... read more

I've been to Vivian twice now and she is fantastic! I had tried another salon a few times since moving here about a year ago and they just couldn't quite get me the color I wanted. When I saw Vivian I tried to articulate the type of blonde I wanted and she immediately got it. Phew, finally. She's also really funny and makes it actually a good time to sit in her chair instead of an exercise of patience. I've had plans after my appointments both times I've gone to see her and she's made sure my hair is styled really cute when I leave, too. Price is totally great for this part of town. I was in desperate need of a haircut and coloring. I've had severe allergic reactions conventional hair-dyes. I researched and called numerous west-side hair salons before I found "Blu's" owner who had experience using organic hair dyes and offered me a free consultation. She was very knowledgeable and gave me good advice and showed me several different products that contained no harmful chemicals. I told her what kind of a hair style I wanted (asymetrical what else?) and she said that would be no problem. She blended several colors to obtain just the right mixture for my skin tone. Finally fuond a stylist that will provide me with the scissor cut I have grown accustomed to back home. This was my 3rd attempt at finding a stylist that could cut my hair like my girl back home did. I moved out here in March from the Philly area. I had been going to the same stylist for 8 years. She knew exactly what I wanted, how to cut for my head shape, and also had a great atmosphere in her salon. Now that I am on the West Coast, I had been searchign for someone that could live up to filling her shoes. I found someone that can match the cuts I used to get back home in Dawn. Sascha is the best hairdresser I have ever had. Not only are his haircuts perfect, he's a terrific colorist. He asks what you want and really listens to you. If you're being unrealistic, he tells you, and he'll offer alternatives. I have thick, curly hair and he knows how to shape it and control it. He also shows you how to maintain it on your own. I really like the salon - everyone is friendly and, from what I've seen, has a loyal customer base. If you want ostentatious, this isn't the place. I've only ever worked with Dawn at this salon, but she has now totally saved my hair at the absolute minute before photo shoots - TWICE! Dear God, how I wish I could put Dino Clark in my pocket and take it with me to Austin. Twice now I have gone into Dino Clark with hair that is so damaged it is essentially unmanageable. This last time it was so bad that the only way I would wear my hair was in a french braid so no one could see it. Both times, they have worked their magic and somehow created a haircut that manages to work with my damaged hair instead of against it (i.e. by giving me a hairstyle that works incorporates 'messy waves' as opposed to my usual 'smooth and sleek' look that I clearly cannot pull off anymore). And it looks awesome. I'm thinking Dino Clark will be a regular stop whenever I visit home now. I've worked with Ashlee and Sascha, they are both amazing. Thanks guys! read more
