From the outside it sounded like a club, but then you walk in to this courtyard with tables. The server was hella cool. No doubt about that. He was helpful and totally hooked it up. You know me... Gin martini, up, twist. Through the course of the evening I had 6, and honestly the glass just kept looking fuller and fuller every time! Nice... hook it uuuuupp. Looks like I got the long pour :) The food: I read somewhere they blue marlin was oily... I didn't have it, but we ordered it and everyone said it tasted quite nice. I ordered the house special Cansi Steak, yes, I thought it was quite delicious... quite delicious indeed! You know in the Philippines there's this tradition of having some pulutan when you drink and this totally rocked it, hit the spot with my martinis. Oh the ambiance is very hip... music was good and had a lot of fun. I'm very happy we picked this place to have our late late dinner. Should I be back in Bacolod, I'd fancy anther visit to Portiko. Stay Hungry!!

Their food is very good too, make sure to try the fries and nachos, they are delicious. However, this place isn't really for people on a budget, 75 pesos for a beer is rather expensive by Bacolod standards, but I think it's worth it.

I was craving for Batchoy during my last trip and my sister in-law recommended that we eat at Bar…read more21. It was raining during that time so it was just right to order a nice bowl of Batchoy. Batchoy is a soup made of pork and beef stock with shrimp paste, miki noodles, crushed chicharon, pork, fried garlic, egg and may add liver. Maybe this is the Filipino ramen nowadays. This is served with toasted bread Anyway, parking is difficult at Lacson St. so we had to park at one of those vacant area and walk a little. Upon arriving, there is a wait so have your name down and you can order ahead so when your table is ready, then there will be not much wait for your food to arrive. I would have to agree with one of the reviews that the Batchoy had more liver than usual and it was salty. The single calamansi (Philippine lime) will not be enough to counter the saltiness. Despite that, I still say it was worth the walk in the rain and going back to eat again.

The place has stayed consistent serving delicious Batchoy. The staff are friendly and accommodating although when it got busy, it was challenging trying to flag down our server. I ordered a Lychee shake, Batchoy (we had to call it in since they do run out), Bibingka and Cheesecake. Their Batchoy appeared to have gotten smaller, but still yummy. The shake was really good (not too sweet) and the cheesecake was surprisingly good, too. I was disappointed with the bibingka - burnt and no flavor.

It's located at the back of Robinson's in the entertainment block (not sure what they call it) together with other restaurants such as Moon Cafe, Peppersteak, and a lot more. Chika-an in Bacolod is rather small and not at all homey. It looks like a slightly upgraded carenderia to be honest. I've eaten at other Chika-an branches but this here stuck me as the odd one out. Fortunately, the wait service is still top-notch. We ordered Filipino favorites such as Sisig, Tinolang Manok, Lumpiang Shanghai, Rellenong Talong, fried gizzard, Cebu Longganisa and their houseblended lemon Iced Tea. The sisig wasn't as splended as the other sisig I've tasted so far. The friend gizzard was burnt we ended up sending it back to the kitchen. The broth for the tinola was great but the chicken tasted bland. The only standouts (also barely) were the rellenong talong and the lumpiang shanghai. The only one we really loved was the Cebu longganisa. It was hard to review this Chika-an branch because I have such great experience with their other branches. I'm not sure what happened it but somehow between my last dinner at Chika-an Cebu and my recent dinner here in Bacolod something must have changed, and not in a good way. Should you eat here? Depends, their menu is a hit and miss but there are a lot in there so you might end up with a better tasting one.

There really isnt a lot of parking available, but as long as you can fit your car in a spot, youre good. There have definitely grown a lot in the many years of my absence. I remember it was an all outdoor setting and the restaurant was still halfway through the field. Now, it takes up the entire lot with a second story spaces and airconditioned rooms and private rooms. I dont ever recall having a turo turo/ karenderia setting, but its there now and its the same as the food as they serve in the menu. Like most restaurants here, they have a place to wash their hands that is outside of the restrooms which makes it super convenient and you dont have to crowd the restrooms for that. Also, you can fill your own water pitchers or glasses at their self serve water station just beside the hand washing station. They were all very attentive to us. We had over a party of 15 of all ages and everyone was pretty fed and satisfied.

As soon as you walk in you will be greeted with a display of fresh caught seafood and you choose whatever and however you want it cooked. We had grilled squid and a piece of prawn and blue marlin for sinigang. There is also a row of dishes that are ready to be served. Ordered "pagi " as well and it was delicious! The place is super clean with rich wood furnishings.
