I finally found the NY-style thin crust pizza I've been looking for! So much "thin crust" pizza around here has a bread-y crust, but these were big, thin, foldable slices with plenty of cheese and toppings. Delicious. On top of that, the customer service is terrific. I walked in looking for a slice and was a bit disappointed to see they only had cheese out, but they offered (without me even asking) to add pepperoni. I ordered two slices and ended up getting two more for free because the people working weren't happy with how the first two slices turned out. I honestly thought the first two were great, and said I didn't need more, but they insisted. I certainly appreciate the high standards and great service. I went there for the Wednesday 9.99 Pasta specials and ordered a chicken broccoli ziti and she said it was 17 bucks because it doesn't include any proteins so you're basically paying 10 bucks for pasta and sauce and a salad! Used to have THE BEST steak and cheese sub in Malden but over the last few years they have severely downgraded the quality of this sandwich. Living in the Medford/Malden area for years, this steak and cheese use to overflow with perfectly shredded steak and melted cheese. Now, the ratio is essentially 2:1 in bread:steak and the color of the steak is more of a gristle gray. If the owner reads these reviews PLEASE go back to the old steak and cheese, people will pay extra for good quality - don't downgrade your product to keep the price low. read more

I have been there a couple times over the last month. The first I thought it was a fluke because I ordered the 2 cheese pizza deal and both pizzas were old, dry and warm at best. I was there on time to pick it up, so it wasn't a timing issue. The second time I ordered a specialty pizza which was great but the cheese pizza I ordered was again old, dry and barely warm. I've ordered delivery there a handful of times and consistently find the food overpriced and average/below average. This most recent time, I ordered a Nonna Classic and a fried mozzarella appetizer, hoping to change it up from the usual. Not impressed. For nearly $30, you get a 16" hand-tossed soggy pizza with an average, generic tasting crust in need of a bit more cook and color and a watery flavorless sauce. Toppings were of below average quality: canned jalepenos and mushrooms, presliced pepperoni, previously frozen precut sausage chunks, unevenly melted, plastic-y cheese. Seems like it was cooked in an oven that wasn't quite hot enough. The $10 side order of mozzarella sticks (not fried mozzarella as listed on the menu but rather basic fried-from-frozen mozzarella sticks) had a substantial portion, but they arrived lukewarm and unmelted. The marinara dipping sauce wasn't half bad with big chunks of tomato and a nice umami, basil flavor. I understand that you don't expect fine dining from a local pizza joint but after hearing local raves and shelling out $50 dollars for a pizza and app you do expect a little more than what this once seemingly heralded pie shop is dishing out. read more

Idk what's going on with this place but I've ordered pickup before and it was fine but delivery is another story. For one thing, the restaurant called me and said the delivery driver says my address doesn't exist... first time that has EVER happened and... it does exist. Anyways, after speaking with the woman on the phone i changed my address to a building down the st, fine I'll walk. She also says it'll be 2 mins before he gets to me. Cool. I head downstairs, it's nice out.... 20 minutes go by and still no call. So i give a call back to ask, woman tells me another minute. 10 minutes go by and still NOTHING. They used to be the best in the city. Now, they are too big for their britches. They prices are way too high.....$17 for a small cheese pizza. They are consistently late, tonight from ordering to delivery was 1.5 hours. Customer service is subpar and never apologetic when issues arise. Sadly, will not be going back to DiPietros. I think the original family would be disappointed in how the biz is now run. I will say, when the food is delivered on time, it is good. That said, the woman on the other end of the phone tonite, at 7 pm on a thursday couldn't have been more rude. I was trying to relay the message of where I was going to be leaving my cash tip for contactless delivery and she was having a hard time hearing me. Over and over I repeated myself, when finally she exclaimed "HE ALREADY LEFT" in other words, I don't care about your tip or where it is. I did use grub hub to place the order, so it's not surprising that she didn't care. That said, I'll think twice about placing a $50+ order here again. I have been going to Dipietro's sense 1967. It has gone way down hill Pita Bread is always hard as a rock. When you order a Salad they charge you almost $15 dollars and it doesn't come with Dressing. They already raise the price of the Salad, which should include one Dressing. They use to include a Dressing with the Salad, before they raised the prices. Now they charge you $2.50 more for a little 2oz container of Dressing. It does not come with it, like most places. It wasn't like I wanted an extra one. I just wanted the one that comes with it. So I am urging all Customers to look at your receipt and see if there are any hidden charges you don't know about. They don't tell you what your being charged for. This is just crazy they want to nickle and dime people. I get it prices are going up but that is just ridiculous. Needless to say I will not be ordering from them anymore. read more

Pretty amazing sub, pizza and pasta joint. Have had the crispy pizza, enormous subs qnd quick delivery. Subs are made on locally procured rolls and the delivery is fast. I've ordered the chicken salad sub with pickles and tomatoes, a monstrosity, to be sure. The tuna sub is similarly large. I'm actually pretty disappointed because I've ordered from DiPietro's a lot. This is how my order appeared to them as I went through GrubHub. I give them credit because they sent the guy back over but I basically got two chicken fingers on a bed of rice with salad dressing but absolutely no salad ! It was also missing the blue cheese ,after waiting another half hour they sent the guy over with the salad ,blue cheese ,and more pieces of chicken( which is appreciated). I wasn't planning on writing a review until I just decided to eat the rice ball. I ordered a salami ham and pepperoni rice ball what I just realized I received is a rice ball with rice and maybe some cheese inside absolutely no meat. I wouldnt of spent the 5.99 on it. I'm really frustrated because I tipped really well an my total for the whole order was about 30 bucks and it just wasn't worth it. DiPietro's knows how to make a good pie! The pizza is awesome and the wings are amazing. The pizza dough is to die for! I always get the pizza delivered and the drivers are always fast and friendly. I love the variety in flavors of chicken wings too, namely honey mustard and roasted garlic. I just recently tried the penne pasta with chicken parmigiana and that was pretty good too (and I loved the little salad it came with) but the garlic bread was not really edible. =( There's a lot of pizza places around Malden, but not many make pizza as good as this! read more

I would recommend not using the online order function. Ordered food, waited over an hour so I decided to call the restaurant and was informed the delivery driver had tried calling me while waiting outside of my apt. I indicated I never received any phone calls nor was there ever a door bell ring. Driver made a second attempt to deliver my now hour and a half waited order. The restaurant gave her the wrong address because I received a phone call asking for assistance locating my apt from the driver. Food got delivered almost 2 hours after ordering and was not super pleased with the now soggy fries (hunger got the best of me otherwise I would have declined the order after calling in).
