Disability Specialists is a disgusting, horrible organization! After my 2nd denial, I found out my contact Jesse was not turning in my medical documents and court documents to the SSA. Jesse needs to be fired! Teresa sent some of them in but nobody at Disability Specialists communicates properly. I've heard they do not even have any lawyers on their staff. I've been dealing with them for almost a year and have never been given a direct phone extension or email address. I made a comment before. They failed to do a number of things. I told them I was in treatment in River falls. I told them that if they want to send something important to me I'd be in River falls but my main residence is in minnesota. They sent me to eau Claire Wisconsin for my medical review for my disability. Now we have two states involved. That cost me a delay of 7 months. I was homeless. Plus that eau Claire is farther away than saint paul. Which is a reason for doing this. They said oh it's much closer to you. They clearly have no clue. They did everything possible to throw my claim. They told me not to get a test that was crucial in me getting accepted, they sent letters to the wrong doctors multiple times despite me trying to get them to correct it, didn't ask for information until right before my hearing that nearly got it thrown out, and screwed up several details of my claim in front of the judge during my hearing. I would never recommend them and wish I looked more into them before going with a friends recommendation. read more

They were terrible--grossly incompetent. I was misled into believing that I would be represented by an attorney, and instead I got a 'non-attorney representative', who did a poor job of arguing my case before the Administrative Law Judge. After losing my case, they declined to appeal, despite an egregious error made by the court, and instead they referred me to an actual attorney, who also declined to take my case. They made errors from the very beginning of my claim. They even spelled my name wrong on my initial application. There were other mistakes as well, that I caught when I called to check on the situation with my medical records. No one communicated with me when there were snags with the records. I had to find out for myself by calling to check. I do NOT recommend this organization. read more

If I could rate this zero stars, I would do so. They filed my application and put me on ignore the rest of the way. I had to ask a family member do all the leg-work and follow-up with the social security examiner directly because they failed to do their jobs. They were always one or two steps behind the the actual status of my case and never returned phone calls. The receptionist insisted that their representatives returned my calls on several occasions; these being flat-out lies. I recommend to anyone looking for assistance with their disability application process to steer clear of this organization and find a competent firm. read more

They didn't even use the Wounded Warrior section of social security to help me apply. They did not listen at all. Thankfully I no longer have a business relationship with them. I was successful in my own appeal. So I got a huge back pay. Their incompetence is quite apparent from the beginning. I do not recommend them to anyone. read more

DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY OR REP. I would rate them a negative star if I could. We trusted this company with our lives and future and they neglected and abused our trust. Social Security was a confusing and crucial process when my husband was seriously injured in an auto accident. He would never be able to work again and the process with ss is slow. This company ignored every call we made. They expected us to complete complicated paperwork without any assistance or response. Our case stalled with no effort from this company and our agent, Kelly Blad. Finally we had no choice but to fire them for lack of service. Our new attorney was excellent and we received his benefits in a timely manner. Never heard from this company again. However Ms Blad's hand was out immediately when we did receive payment. She wants paid for The entire case settlement!! Even requesting MORE than allowed, claiming over $3.000 in expenses. Totalling over $9,000. For what?? Ignoring us? We have never talked to her after initial phone visit and never met her. We live in the cities and they are very North MN. She didn't appear at his hearing but wants money for work she never did.
