It's a place where you can go in and have commeradery and sometimes something to drink and food, and have a deeper understanding of the role you played in service to America. I am a life member. And I should know better than others that not all VFW's are the same or equal. Some have restaurant and bar inside, some are a building that's rented for events, and some just have a flag sitting out on a memorial. I have been for a long time what they call a member at large in California. That means I don't have any one post that I go to in particular. However I found 1 in the city of Beni shake California that's absolutely exquisite with wonderful people and lots of events throughout the year. The you're. This fits what I'm looking for in a group that is forward moving forward thinking. The last time I went they were having I believed the Memorial Day festivities it was wonderful with the barbecue and food people being happy and smiling and telling stories and surrounded by veterans of different wars and we all have a common thread which is our particular story is different but the reason we were there wasn't. I highly recommend this organization to all veterans of foreign wars.

There's a stage in front and it reminds me of the type of gymnasium that my elementary school had where you had a place on the floor with people to sit at tables and eat and a stage where people could Act, scene, do presentations and so on. I was going to get a drink there and I'm glad I didn't! They had a full bar and you could get drinks there and I don't know what the prices were because as I was going, we were being called to dinner. The dinner was in another building and a roller door was lifted to let us in. We are allowed to sit at a table, and that was good. We saw salads that looked lame, but tasted much better than expected. Being that I hadn't eaten any veggies, I decided to go with the salad and eat some. yes I knew I couldn't eat the pasta. So, it was a nice spot. Unfortunately two of my friends had to go home because they had an appletini and got really sick. One almost went to the hostpital. The other, a nurse, was up all night and took care of herself at home. They said that the person put something, a cherry maybe in the drink and used their hands, no gloves. They thought that the alcohol would kill any germs. Apparently they did not. Lucky me, because I was going to order something when we were called to sit down for our meal. So, the food was clunky, the food was OK, and they had wine on the table. I didn't get sick which is why they have three stars. It's a building, it's standing, so it has the basics.

This is the place, the room was clean and neat and was equipped with two TV's,it also has a kitchen and a couch. I'm surprised that the room comes with the kitchen and couch since usually just comes with the beds and a TV. When I went to the pool the staff offered and asked us if we wanted pool noddles. I'm writing this review based largely on how Hyatt House responded afterward. I would strongly advise others to think twice before staying here. While in the parking lot, I was robbed at gunpoint. This is something that one should ever have to experience, especially when visiting a new area or being displaced. The most concerning aspect of the situation is the apparent lack of security measures. There are no visible security presence or cameras in the parking area. This leaves guests feeling completely vulnerable. While filing a police report, I was told incidents like this are not uncommon in the area, which makes the absence of basic safety precautions even more absurd. Despite the severity of the situation, the hotel did not provide any meaningful support or reassurance afterward. Safety should be a top priority for any hotel. Unfortunately, based on my experience, I cannot recommend staying at this property.

The organization may have the same name, but the people who are there are judgmental and unwelcoming (when I saw them in other contexts after I tried to go to an Open House). My experience with them is in line with a different comment on the Chris Kindness website: An ex-Hackermom: "The non-profit mentioned by another commenter is bleeding members from marginalized groups, and her response to many WOC, disabled, and other brave moms raising concerns can be summed up as "you're not the right kind of mom to belong here" and "don't let the door hit you on the way out." As a direct result, at least a third of all members have left in the last month. Happy to provide screenshots with empirical proof of her supposed "kindness" on request."
