Trust the process and give these guys time; they're dealing with a lot of us Vets. National Service Officer Daniel Hillman II took on my case. I requested assistance with my claim, he reviewed my (VA) records and he found a miss. The miss was explained to me, HLR was explained to me and the review moved forward. Four months later my HLR was found favorable; Daniel called me with the news a week before it even posted! Outstanding attention to detail and follow-up. I reviewed DAV a long time ago. Most of what I said is true, the use volunteers and are heavily overworked. They took a long time to handle my case and it may seem to have not been worth it at times. But they don't charge anything, and eventually they got volunteer lawyers on my side and took the VA to court. The only reason why I wouldn't give them 5 stars is because it can take years to get your case done, instead of much faster with one of the lawyers that charge you money. But the people that work for DAV do their best with what they have. read more

The DAV chapters are not located at 3333 N Central Ave. You all with poor reviews are going about this all wrong. The DAV personnel at this location National Service Officers (NSO) are handling all the claims sent in by Chapter Service Officers (CSO). Find your local Chapter and connect with a CSO. CSOs are all volunteers veterans helping veterans. For the review telling everyone not to donate to DAV because the VOLUNTEER DAV Van service to get veterans to the VA medical appointments cannot go the 11 miles to pick her up: The DAV van service to medial appoints could go in a wider driving range if there were enough volunteer drivers to make that happen-perhaps you should volunteer to drive. read more

They never answer calls and can't make appt. Have been trying to call for a month. You can't leave a message, straight to vm that says "all agents are busy, try later" only bc I had to give a star but really none. read more

AVOID!!! Worst service I've ever seen. They never answer the phone. I've called from outside the door and watched them send to voicemail. Do they have a heart!!!! We are struggling out here and all they do is try to send me to someplace else. This is the way they treat the veterans. read more

If I could rate them a minus five I would. I do not recommend DAV! Do not donate or volunteer for them. I am making sure all I know wont either. I have a service connected diability on the right knee which I had a total knee replacement on 13 May 2019. I called DAV for transport to medical appts at VA hospital. They said based on the one fact that I live 11 miles from the Phx Carl Hayden VA hosp I do not qualify for their transport as I am out of their service area!! 11 miles that is ridiculous. Have notice that this locations phone number directs people to the VA home loans and does not direct veterans to DAV. I have called the number on different days and it never has DAV in the system or a wat to find out. This dumb that veterans cannot call this location for questions regarding their claims. It is supposed to be the number to DAV at 3333 North Central ave. read more

The person I called to try and make an appointment was rude and not helpful at all. I called to help a friend get an appointment and I got "Call back tomorrow" I started to tell her that I didn't want to see someone today and before I finished my sentence I got "I didn't ask you if you wanted an appointment today, the Reps are all in training, call back tomorrow" then a hang up. Guess I'll call a different place. read more

Spoke with a manger (Judy), easily the worst customer service I have ever received. I got cut off from asking a question exactly 6 times and she kept trying to tell me about their eBenefits policy. I asked her to stop so I could finish my question, she would not. I would get the question halfway out and she would say "you shouldn't go to eBenefits. After the third time of that I asked "in what regard, what do you mean". Judy - you just shouldn't go to eBenefits. Me - you keep saying that, I have no idea what you mean. Like, don't go to eBenefits for any reason or.." Judy - Don't go go there to check the status of your claim. Me - okay, that's not even what I'm calling about. There are some letters they need from me according to eBenefits.. Judy interrupting yet again - don't go to eBenefits, contact us. Me - I emailed on the 19th, no response. Usually takes days when I leave a message. I think that's enough of that, it was just more of.the same. She tried to state that I was somehow rude for cutting her off during one of her interruptions. She felt the need to let me know she's a ma ager for some reason. I'll be looking to switch who represents me, I'm a disabled vet, I don't need the people that supposed to be helping me to add to my problems. read more

The receptionist and lady in the back is extremely rude. The receptionist told me I could print a few pages from there and when I drive 25 mins to get there she told me I couldn't print. The lady from the back treats people immaturely. You are better off going to the local chapters, or even utilizing a different organization. read more

It takes between two to three years from the time you put your claim in then they have to pull the records and if you do not have your medical records they have to request them wherever you are stationed and sometimes it takes a while not only that the claims adjusters and reps they do have a lot of veterans that they have to help be patient and you will get answers. I put my claim in 2011, I was approved in 2013 for 50% and then it was an increase again in 2016 to 80% just be patient. If you have your reps adjusters email just ask don't be rude just ask what's the status you don't need to do it every day do it once every month or every other month. I had several changeovers I would say three or four times and you will not get anything faster by being rude are disrespectful they are very kind people that work and deal with disrespectful veterans. read more

All I know is that for this past year (it is now March 2026), every time I try to sign up for something that Heidi Heniger is in charge of/decides who gets selected to attend, I DON'T get selected. It's supposed to be based on if you've attended an event recently (as in, those who haven't attended an event recently get selected first), how many events you have attended recently, etc. In this last year, I've attended 3 events: a 12 week Personal Training FYI session (not sure if there is a limit in capacity for that) in May 2025 and two sessions for the First Friday Walking Club (which I don't believe anyone is denied as it is outside at a park, so there is essentially unlimited space) in June and September 2025. Prior to that, going back to July 2024, I attended 3 virtual events and 1 in-person event. In this last year, I have attempted to sign up for a spring training game, a garden event and this recent sound bath event. All have been with Heidi and all have been denied. After this recent denial for the sound bath event I emailed Heidi and asked if there is something I needed to do to get selected. I never received a response. Since I didn't receive any emails or communication from Heidi, I spoke with another WWP POC of mine at a different office since I can't seem to get ahold of anyone at this office here in Phoenix. After they spoke, I was told that the reason for my continual denial was some coding thing that was wrong in the system. Yet I can get approved for online things or when someone else runs it, but not Heidi? And Heidi never contacted me about this? Never responded to my email when I asked what can I do to get approved? All I received was the standard denial email stating "Regretfully, I am unable to accept your registration for this event due to the high interest and limited number of spots available." Yeah, that's BS and we all know it. Oh, and I had signed up 8 days prior to this denial email AND the sound bath event stayed open for registration for at least a day after I received this denial as well. I have still received no communication from Heidi. If this coding error was truly the case, you'd think she would want to respond to me herself and clear things up. I don't know what is going on here...are these events actually being held? Do others get approved for these and it's just me who keeps getting denied? Or are they just listing events but not actually doing them and just pocketing the money? Whatever is going on, they need to be looked into and it seems like they need a HUGE overhaul.

He is nearly blind but because of the adaptive bike he rode he was able to be independent. Not having to have to steer the bike as there was also another rider steering on the tandem bicycle. We met so many amazing people both staff and people that came to the event. We did yoga to help relax, it was really geared for the people that were there. The staff was simply amazing. They talked to each person as if they were family & loved ones. Everyone was included no one was left out no one was left behind. This is an event that I wish every soldier could go on after their service. It's that amazing! Thank you to all the donate to the Wounded Warrior project and make this available. And thank you to the wonderful people that put it on.

They charge $10 a person to get in as a cover, and we found out that the air conditioning in the building was broken and they should've customers that before hand and also should not have a fee to get in to come into a place with no air only had two or three fans going on inside the whole building building for the whole night. Very unprofessional, the air broke and two still charging people to come in at a hot establishment, not being made aware of the condition that the establishment is in. We stayed for about two hours at the max to order our food and listen to some good music and then we left to go somewhere else because it was extremely too hot in. The future, the business owner and staff workers should make it prevalent that all guests are aware when there's an issue going on in the building and or to close the establishment until the issue is resolved no restaurant or business without air conditioning in the summertime when the weather is over 110° daily.

Set up a pickup 2 weeks I'm advance to allow me time and gather all the items I wanted to donate…read more Provided my gate code for my subdivision and specific instructions on where items would be in front of my garage. I have a homeowners association and can't leave items out for extended time. Had items out early for 7:30 am pickup. 4 pm came and no pickup. I contacted them and was told they are still enroute. I had to go to work, so li left the items outside. I get home from work at 2 am, no pickup. I contact again, and at 2 pm they guarantee someone is on the way. 4 pm comes again, I go to work, come home at 2 am... items still not picked up. That's 2 days straight out in the blazing sun with the current heat wave. I sent a msg stating I would find another organization to donate to. I served 26 years in the military, had quality items, and I wanted to give to those in need. Sad.

Surprisingly the restaurant was not packed with a lunch crowd but it gave me an opportunity to really meet and talk with the owner. He brought a taste of Chicago to the valley. Wanting to try another of their restaurants before the ungodly heat arrived, we decided to stop in for lunch. Parking: can be a bit nerve wracking, especially parking in the dirt lots east of the place. You have to walk across 32nd St & if you know Phoenix drivers, this can be dangerous. There is a pedestrian light now, though, so that helps -- but oddly enough, there's no "walk" signage. It's merely a blinking yellow light for north- sound-bound traffic so you have to pray to the universe drivers are paying attention & actually stop for you. Ordering: a bit odd. The main door we went in was more the middle door that didn't really take you to the beginning. There's a drink station then the food station. We skedaddled to the right of the main doors for the drink order, only to discover there's another door that people walk through to place orders. So we joggled w/ another customer trying to figure out who was there first. It honestly felt like a school cafeteria, a bit chaotic, as well as cramped. The patio was pretty large & well shaded, but it was also full -- and this particular day also the ONLY SHADE. We were left to sit at one of their many tables on the grounds with no shade. Food: not worth the $77 we paid. I get it's a working farm, & though we try to support local as much as possible, the food we ordered was not good enough that we will stop by again. The strawberry fields salad was a typical salad, no wow factor there. The Italian sammy was dry. There was a minuscule amount of some kind of dressing on it, but def not enough. Dessert: red velvet whoopie pie was so overpriced it's not funny. If it tasted great, I wouldn't complain...it did not taste great. The pecan pie was abysmal; not enough filling and very bland. Two "specialty" drinks, a salad, a sandwich, & two small desserts, for $77? No, sorry, not again.

My brother worked for Harkins back in high school and I got into a lot of free movies back then. I saw all the big blockbuster movies back in the 1990s at the old Cine Capri in Phoenix and the Camelview 5 in Scottsdale. I am all about the movie experience, especially movies that have a lot of action and special effects. I still enjoy dinner and a movie date nights. This Harkins location is in North Scottsdale right off the 101 and has plenty of parking and restaurants all around. I was recently in the area and caught the latest "Superman" movie in the CINÉ XL theater. Harkins Theatres Scottsdale 101 14 has 14 screens and all the updated stuff like stadium seating and electronic reclining seats. The CINÉBAR has a variety of wines and rotating craft beers. Food can be ordered ahead of time on the Harkins mobile app. A Cine Capri-style auditorium was built at Scottsdale 101 in 2003. It is called CINÉ XL and has an extra large screen, a gold curtain that opens up before the movie begins and Dolby Atmos sound with a 4K laser projection. There is also a small Cine Capri museum here with pictures of the old theater in Phoenix. I like going to Harkins Theatres because they offer the best deals for a regular movie goer like myself. I'm part of the My Harkins Awards program where you get discounts after so many visits. They have an annual Popcorn Perks program where you can get 36 medium popcorns for a year for $40 (one popcorn per visit). I also purchase the loyalty cup and get my $3 refillable drink at each show. I save on admission price by seeing most of my movies during matinee hours. Going to the movies doesn't have to be expensive if you look for the deals. Sometimes the concession lines can be long at Harkins. A lot of young folks work at Harkins and can be a little slow at times. Plus certain people bog up the lines because they order way too much food and snacks for a two hour movie. But I still enjoy my movie experience and what Harkins Theatres has to offer.
