Do not use the above company at any cost, unless you don't mind fighting to try and get your money back. The cistern I ordered, arrived late. It was not what I ordered and then they tried to tell me I was lying about what I had asked for. They instead supplied a similar one that I can buy anywhere online, at a fraction of the price, and then tried to make me believe it was an ammended design, for a cistern that had gone out of production 15 years ago. They hung up on me on the phone and have refused to accept the returned goods back. Claiming that in the first instance the carriers had not even been to them, when the package was refused, and returned to sender. On the second delivery attempt, they would not accept it as they couldn't check the package before signing for receipt. SO IN REALITY they will NEVER TAKE ANYTHING BACK. They insist goods MUST be received back within 7 days to receive a refund. This is nowhere to be seen on my paperwork AND very different to what is on the boxes labelling. I am currently liasing with my credit card company who are investigating the matter and will no doubt end up reimbursing me for the monies I have paid out. BUT it is an absolute nightmare having to ring people fill out forms and spend hours talking via phone, email and letter. How can this firm get away with this type of practice in the current world of consumer protection? I eventually found a replacement from the High Street at sixth of the cost. YES a sixth. I will be contacting Trading Standards and anyone else I can, to try and expose this appauling company. My returned cistern is currently housed in a deliver depot in Rotherham awaiting its fate. read more

Don't even deserve one star. On 20/01 I was told they had what I wanted & took the money. As it was verbal I followed it up with an email laying out the whole correct order. Two inset white basins two tap hole without chain stay. I reiterated the no chain stay as it had not been part of the original discussion. They confirmed that was what I was getting. Emails & phone calls just to get the invoice first seen on 4/02. This mentioned, for the first time "special order" Why?? I was told on the very first enquiry they were in stock. Today they arrive, what have they done? DRILLED TWO MORE TAP HOLES IN SINGLE HOLE BASINS. why???? BECAUSE I DIDN'T WANT A CHAIN STAY HOLE & THEY ONLY COME IN SINGLE HOLES WITHOUT. At no time did they tell me this was what they planned & was it acceptable. Credit card company & trading standards here we come. NEVER deal with them. Be very careful if ordering from Discontinued Bathrooms. I asked for a discontinued toilet pan in a particular colour to match my Ideal Standard suite. They may tell you over and over again it is in stock. You then order, pay and wait. What they do not tell you is that they have the items in stock, but these have to be refired in a kiln to the colour required. I waited, phoned, and at one time was told it was ready for delivery. I have now been told they have attempted to re-fire three toilet pans all of which have cracked during the process. So all I get is an e-mail advising my money is being refunded. What a waste of time. The only reason I went to this company is because they said "it is in stock" I was aware of the refiring process, and the fact it is highly unsuccessful, and therefore would not have ordered from Discontinued Bathrooms had they told me the truth from the start. Please be warned!!! They are not customer friendly and are not very truthful either. read more

I had the unpleasant experience of ordering from this company a while ago but seeing all of these complaints has pushed me to comment. I chased this company for over 12 mths with dozens of telephone calls. I had ordered a replacement basin. I was going on holiday so I told them not to deliver until I returned. They delivered to my neighbour while I was away! When I returned & opened the flimsily packaged basin it was in pieces. I phoned & was told it would be replaced. Like an idiot I said should I dispose of the old one. YES no worries. I never took photos or had anything via email. It was all word of mouth. Same excuses as everyone else seems to get : it's been sent away to be fired or it cracked during firing or we're going to fire it ourselves". The owner even told me he'd had a heart attack! Do not under any circumstances use this company!! My experience of ordering a replacement Ideal Standard custom gold plated toilet cistern lever resulted in being conned out of £189. All I eventually received was a broken Tre Mercati gold anodised lever with a retail price of £22. After being told that I was in effect lying about the model I had received, I was told to return it for a replacement. My request for a refund was refused. No order number/invoice/receipt/delivery note on paper or electronically was provided at any time, despite my requests to do so. BEWARE This is a really mis-managed company, where the Sales side and Warehouse delivery don't seem to speak to each other and no one there is interested in the Customer or the concept of Customer Service. I ordered a discontinued basin, which they had in stock (which was great) but it finally turned out to be damaged! I had to chase them all the time about where they were up to and then had to chase the refund if I hadn't, I would never have received one I am still waiting now as I type. I am still waiting for an item I ordered a month ago. Promised delivery dates come and go, with no delivery. Promised phone calls to keep me updated never arrive. Whenever I phone my item "has just been despatched" and will arrive soon. It never does. By an amazing coincidence, a tracking number is never available or "in another office". When I complained about being strung along, I was basically told to get lost. They are a bunch of charlatans - don't waste your time and money with them. I wish I hadn't. read more

The company delievered an item to my neighbour even though they had cancelled their order -due to appaling customer service and saying they had the item in stock when they didn't. Subsequently, they delievered it but asked to store it as our neighbours were not in. The neighbours have refused delivery so the Company issues a County Court summons against us (without contacting us) for theft!! Shocking and the company derserves to get discontinued themselves. read more

I wanted something that was not white like most toilet seats to match my blinds and toilet brush/waste bin set. So, I found this company and sent them a sample of the colour and the details I was looking for. It arrived in the time frame I was told and the colour was a perfect match. It was easy to install and the seat fit to my toliet perfectly. I get lots of great comments from visitors, therefore I highly recommend Discontinued Bathrooms. read more

Just recieved a cistern very happy with it!!! Saved a fortune not having to change the whole toilet. The lady I spoke to was very helpful and helped me find what I needed. Cant fault them at all. Do not use Discontinued Bathrooms. This is the worst customer service I have had in a long time. I cancelled an order and two months on I am still waiting for my refund. I either get cut off when trying to find out about where my refund has gotten to or they put me on hold for 30mins and then the line goes dead! Truly awful company. I would reckomend this company to anyone!! I purchased a toilet from them in peach and they were very helpful in helping me identify the make and model. Without this I would have had to change my whole bathroom including all my tiles. They also provided me with an invoice and quote to send off to my insurance company. Very Helpful!!! read more
