You can find this peaceful neighborhood gem at the intersections of Easy and Lake Street. In the center of the park is Easy Lake. Around the perimeter is a 1/3 mile talking trail that gives you views of the lake and the abundance of bird life that call Easy Street Park home. I saw Egyptian Geese, ibis, herons, ducks, and common moorhens to name just a few. In the lake is a small tree island that attracts even more birds. I enjoyed my walk around the lake checking out the local avian residents. This park also has picnic tables, benches, and a fenced in playground with climbing equipment, swings, and slides. Easy Street Park is the perfect destination for play, exercise, picnics. It is also especially nice for nature lovers like me.

The booking process was easy and they also answered the phone right away when I had a question. The address and directions they sent us in the email mapped us right there and it was easy to find. Yes, you do have to pay the six dollars to get into the park but that was communicated in the email. There is a bathroom onsite. You can bring a bag but it might get wet. What was really nice was our guide provided dry bags for everyone if we wanted to use them. It fit two water bottles,glasses case and phones in them so they are decent sized bags. You don't need to bring shoes. You probably don't need to bring a water bottle either unless it's a really hot day. It was 70 and really windy so it was a little chilly and a long sleeve was needed. Todd was our guide and he was so welcoming! They had informed us thirty minutes beforehand that it was going to be really windy. We did have a 9yr old and a first time kayaker to take into consideration. We decided to proceed and I'm glad we did! The wind made it a tad difficult for the newbie but it was a "breeze" for us and the younger people. The wind also stirred up the sand so unfortunately it wasn't very clear water. Todd was very informative and had knowledge on the plant life and animals of the area (don't worry, there's no snakes or alligators) The small lagoon was really cool and peaceful. Plenty of bird life and some fish once the waters calmed down. The two hours went quick and I wished we could've kept going, but I could also see how it was the perfect amount of time for other people. An overall great experience for every one of all ages.

The park is open 8 a.m. until sundown, 365 days a year and the cost is $2 per vehicle payable in a box on the honor system. The more than one mile beach in this park provides a safe habitat for wildlife like the threatened and endangered loggerhead, Atlantic green, and leatherback sea turtles who nest on the beach during the spring and summer. While this beach is popular with nesting sea turtles, people love it too. Swimmers, surfers, snorkelers, anglers, and sunbathers flock here for unspoiled beach recreation. Park amenities include a restroom, picnic pavilion, and shower station. This is the perfect spot for a quieter beach day free from crowds. This part of Fort Pierce was once a naval training base during WWII where sailors practiced with high-explosive rockets, bombs, and underwater demolitions. It is important to note that underwater obstacles left behind by amphibious warfare exercises are still being recovered to this day.

There were only six other people on the beach when I pulled into the parking lot, seems a little odd so maybe it's the mere fact it's a State Park although I didn't see any Park Rangers to collect the fee, only a small money box attached to a post. The dunes are filled with native grasses, and the two paths leading to the beach are short so packing a few chairs and a cooler is a breeze. I can't make the claim that this is the absolute best beach in the area but seriously are there really any bad beaches - clean water, silky sand, and no crowds can't say I need much more than that...
