Every trip I take I am relentlessly followed around. I tend to ignore it, but this time is was impossible to miss. I was with my friends and we went inside once to buy drinks, the 'manager' (i assume) would not stop looking at us. We went to Dairy Shed, a local ice cream shop to by drinks and then we return to the store to buy a savory treat. On our second visit, he claims we cannot have outside beverages or items we've purchased before in the store. 2 of our friends leave, leaving me and my other friend. We couldn't help but notice we were being followed by him, so my friend split up from me to see if he would follow him. He did. He even muttered to himself that it was stupid we split up. My friend didn't have a belt during this visit and his pants were a little saggy, and the manager tells him to pull his pants up "homie" and that the act of not having a belt was disgusting (his word, not mine). We needed a third visit as we had dropped our previous purchase on the ground outside. As the 4 of us now, walk inside he makes an unkind remark about us visiting his store a lot (which i find weird as we are CUSTOMERS), and then he continues to follow us. Our friend once again splits up and we get ON RECORDING that the manager person told an employee to follow him around, and that he was a fast one. We walk around the store more, trying to lose the managers trail as we feel uncomfortable shopping while there's a grown man following us around and shooting daggers at our eyes. He called the cops on us after a while and my friend goes to talk to him, and he tells us we've been in the store SIX times and that we need to leave immediately before the cops show up. We left, and discovered that he said the same thing to multiple other minors just trying to enjoy going downtown. I like this Meijer's store. They have a wide variety of groceries but also a good clothing…read moredepartment, a decent pet department, and other specialty items. I think Meijers may be a bit more expensive than Walmart or Krogers but they do have weekly deals and a rewards program called mPerks. You can order stuff online and pickup at the store. There are pickup drive through lanes on the right side of the store. Recently, I ordered an HP printer that was on sale for $89.99. When I drove through the pickup line, the order ended up being $150.49 which was charged to my debit card. That is a negative and I did complain when I filled out an online survey. However, I then received a phone call from Bill A. informing me the printer was on sale when I ordered it but the sale ended when I went to pick it up. He said the sale price still should've been honored, but sometimes that does happen. They refunded the difference and it was credited back to my debit card in a few days. So, I believe they will try to make a mistake right. I go to this store from time to time, and although they occasionally run out of things, I think it is a good store.

A few things in particular that I like: 1. The pet department aisle is pretty good. I have two cats and they have The World's Greatest Kitty Litter which I prefer because it's natural and my cats seem to like it. They also have a variety of wet and dry food, cat treats, toys, and even bedding. 2. The deli area is pretty decent with a wide variety of cheeses and meats. They also carry the Home Chef brand of dinner meals which are really good. 3. Drink aisles have a wide variety of sodas, water and bottled drinks. 4. There are some small appliances such as coffee makers, and cookware. They even have K-cup brewers and Keurig's K-cup coffee maker cleaner. 5. There's a wide selection of greeting cards and gift cards. 6. Frozen food aisles, dairy area and even bakery area are pretty decent. 7. There's a seasonal area that usually has a variety of sweet treats around Halloween, Christmas, Valentine's Day, and Easter. The things I don't like about this Kroger's is: 1. Items aren't always fully stocked. The Home Chef meals I mentioned earlier run out pretty quickly, especially if you go on the weekend in the afternoon. Some bottled water options also run out quickly. I don't know if they keep things in stock in the back, but this seems to be a reoccurring event at least from my experience. 2. Sometimes they have employees stocking items at the busiest time of day. This can get a bit annoying trying to get around employees, with their big stocking carts, especially while you're shopping. And it's not just one aisle but can be many aisles simultaneously. 3. This is at a very busy intersection and can be somewhat challenging to get into especially after 3:00 pm. I go in via Feedwire Road. Getting out is more challenging. It's just a very busy area with cars zooming in and out. Sometimes I'll cut through the adjacent Costco parking area to get around traffic. 4. They could do a better job in opening more self checkout lines and even regular checkout lines especially during peak hours. Overall, it is a nice store with a variety of items and they do seem to have most things most customers would need. There's also a wide selection of wine, if that's your thing, and a small bar like area where you can have a drink. Sometimes the bar area will even have musical entertainment. It's comparable, to some degree, to a Meijers but without the clothing, electronics, or shoe departments. They also have a pharmacy and Starbucks coffee but I have not used either. I've been to the Krogers off of East Dorothy and Stroop and it is the best out of the three. I give this Kroger's store a solid three stars.

It's just an odd fit for the Greene, and the storefront (which doesn't make it clear what this place is at all) will probably find it hard to get customers in the door. If you're in the area, though, Maria's at the Market sells local, gourmet grocery items. They primarily have granolas (a ton!), jams and preserves, some bakery treats (like tarts and breads), and some hot sauces. It feels like a much smaller version of the usual "Buy Ohio" stores that you can find in some malls. There's a lot of excess space in here still, though, so they might be planning on expanding their selection. If you're dying for a cheap, quick snack while shopping, Maria's also has quite a few single-packaged cookies, treats, and even fresh bananas/apples that you can pick up and take with you for a mall snack! It looks like granolas are definitely their focus here with the main, large table offering a huge selection of different types of granolas.

If you are not familiar with Aldi let me educate you! While many think it is just a dollar store for food, it certainly is not. It is more along the lines of Trader Joes (and the same family owns both). They have high quality fresh produce, meats and cheese for a great price. There are many foodie finds here including everything you could need for a baller charcuterie board. Their limited time items is where I really find they shine. Everything from grills, patio furniture, pet products, to specialty food things especially frozen. The store keeps costs down by keeping a skeleton staff, and requiring you bring your own bag. They do not have phone numbers to reach them. One of the best deals is the twice as nice guarantee. If you do not like an item you may return it for not only a refund, but also a replacement!
