Best customer service I have seen in a long time! I ended up with a screw stuck in my tire. It wasn't leaking but figured I should have it checked. Decided to go ahead and have them fix it for me. When finished the guy gave me a no charge receipt and guarantee. Right there I was impressed, I've had to pay $25-$30 for this same service at a gas station. Two days later tire leaking air. I went back, Dustin had it checked out and put on a brand new matching Michelin tire. Again FREE of charge. I am so impressed with them that I will never buy tires anywhere else. Amazing experience at Discount Tire in Apple Valley. Purchased a new set of Yokohama tires that ended up not being good in the snow. The Store Manager, Dustin, worked with me to swap out the tires for some Continentals that are MUCH better in the snow. He gave me full credit for the initial set and did not charge me a fee to do this. He also acknowledged and showed he cared about my concerns regarding the first set of tires. I had an appointment at 3:30 and had ordered my tires a week ahead of time. When I got there they told me it would only take about 20 minutes. After about an hour I inquired about my car and was told they put the wrong tires on and that it will be another 20 minutes. After about 20 minutes they came out again and told me they gave my tires away to someone else even though I had ordered them a week ahead a time. They gave me a different brand of tire that was $20 more per tire however that tire did not have a rebate($70) like my original tires I ordered. Essentially I paid for my own upgrade by not getting the rebate. The staff was apologetic about the mix ups, but it was still quite frustrating. The install took a total of two hours and I watched walk-ins come and go while I sat there. Making an appointment really didn't seem to make much of a difference. I have used them in the past and have been pleased with their service. This time I was disappointed, it seemed as though they were taking on more business than they could handle that day and mistakes were being made. TR read more

I don't review as often as I should, but these guys are the best. A few months ago we pulled up with a full flat tire, but the store had been closed for at least 30 minutes by the time we arrived. We attempted to put on our spare in their parking lot but couldn't get it released from our vehicle. The manager noticed we were struggling, came out and helped, well, he didn't really help, he did it for us. He called on two of his employees to assist who also helped without hesitation and didn't seem bothered that we were delaying their departure. They kept our tire over night, fixed it in the morning and didn't charge us for the service (he must have felt THAT bad after watching us try to get our spare, or maybe we were covered under warranty). Regardless, their workday had ended but they still helped, which we GREATLY appreciate. Today, another success story with a different car :(. Paid $800 for tires and they stripped the lug nuts and wheel studs on my front tires. They are denying responsibility but claimed they fired the person who did it to a few other vehicles. So know I have to pay $250 for parts to fix it. read more

I discovered a puncture in the sidewall of my tire on Saturday. I went to Discount Tire and they were very busy, but the staff was friendly and helpful. They didn't have my tire in stock but ordered it, and said it would be in Monday afternoon. They called me by noon Monday to let me know the tire was in and to schedule an appointment. I got in at 9:30am on Tuesday. The person helping me walked out to meet me as I parked the car and offered me to have coffee, water in the waiting area and let him know if I need anything else. I had purchased a warranty on all four tires, so I only had to pay $17 for the repair. They got me in and out in less than an hour. The only negative I will say is when I called back on Monday to schedule a service appointment, I spoke with a Brian, who told me there were no same day appointments left. I asked about 9:30am the next day and he repeated a little rudely, no same day appointments. It was 1pm by then so I certainly wasn't asking to come in at 9:30 at night! Plus I had to wait on hold for about 6 minutes. Otherwise, great customer service! read more

Terrible experience at this store. This is not about price or product. This is about customer service. They need to have a better process of service customers when there is a rush. It is obvious that when there is a unexpected snowfall, there will be a rush for people wanting snow tires. So there are many walk-ins including me. We decided on the tires and I was told it would take 2.5 hours, so I waited in the store. I also said I wanted my summer tires bagged. After 2.5 hours, I see that my car is still not taken in. So I go and ask the status and they say it would take another 3 hours. What!!! So why wasn't I told earlier? And why didn't anyone bother to inform me it was going to take longer. If they cannot handle walk-in's, then why are they taking walk-ins..just do appointments. Fine..I waited and got my car back after a total time of 6 hours. And guess what...without my summer tires. They said the tread was too low to install again..I was in a hurry to go by now (you can imagine having waited 6 hours) and I left. Within one hour I go back and ask them that I could actually claim warranty on the summer tires if the tread is too low. They say that those tires have been disposed. So there goes. They have no regard for customer's time and money. On a side note, it was icy conditions and they did not bother to put salt on their sidewalk. 3-4 people had bad falls and one of those people even told them to put salt. But they still did not bother. Finally, my address in their system is incorrect. They did not confirm whether its correct or not. I did a credit application at their store, gave them the right address, but they applied with the old address. I had to call the bank and have it changed. Just ridiculous!! Worst customer service I've experienced. The sales people are cordial and apologetic but they make so many mistakes, its appalling. I even overheard, they gave one guys car keys to his wife and then he had to wait for the keys to come back even though his car was ready for pick up. I've submitted a feedback on their site as well. If they get back and sort out the mess I had to go through, I'll update the review.. UPDATE: So Its been a while since I updated this review. The store manager did contact me back and gave me 50% off a new set of all season michelins for all the trouble I went through. So I'm changing my rating to a little higher. If you have Car One card, you get more discounts also. So price wise, the store is good. UPDATE: I've been here again and they have been far superior in service. Definitely recommend them and increasing another star. Very helpful folks. read more

Such great customer service! I dropped off a tire in need of repair, a tire I had not bought there. When I returned to pick it up (at the time they had quoted me) it was ready to go. They did the repair for free, and even offered to mount the tire on my vehicle. This level of service is beyond what I've come to expect from any retailer/service provider. Bought a set of snow tires. Had issues with wheel air pressure sensors. Came in without an appointment(on a very busy day), ended up having to replace them, they had me in and out very fast. I took my son's truck in there (apple valley) to have tires rotated and balanced as we always buy our tires at discount tires. First of all they wanted me to make a appointment for the following week (there website said nothing about walk-ins not welcome), I said I needed it done today as we may have lost a balance thing on one of the tires! He said well we will get it done today (they were open for another 8 1/2 hours) and call you when it's done. I told him I had to wait as I didn't have a ride, he came back with then make a appointment for next week! I said i'd Wait and texted my son, he said that was crap, he had NEVER been to a discount tire that didn't take walk-ins happily. He called the one by his work (which was about 20-30 minutes away from where I was), and they said to bring it in, they would be happyto help us. All I can says is if you are going to discount tire, USE the one in Inver Grove Height, they are the best. I would not recommend AppleValley to anyone. read more

Today, I had a set of 4 new tires put on my 2002 RAV4. I ordered the tires online this past Sunday, they called Monday evening to inform me that the special order tires were available. I could have made an appointment with that person, but didn't know when I could arrange the time to do it, so I made the appointment online later in the week. The employee that assisted me was very professional. He gave me a time frame of 45-60 minutes. Later, the employee who put the tires on came into the lobby and let me know that within minutes my vehicle would be done. He was very friendly and smiled. I've always had excellent service here. When I bought new tires they did the price match, which was fast and easy. My other car always had some vibration, with two different sets of tires. The Discount Tire guys balanced the tires, no more vibration! They also fixed a tire for free that I didn't even buy there. I completely regret buying tires here. They promote the free tire rotation but they will not answer the phone and I have to drive down to make an appointment in person. This has happened more than once. Then when you get there, you have to wait in line for 1/2 hour to book an appointment a week later. That was just to get a tire rotation appointment. Recently, I had a flat and they actually answered the phone that morning but only to tell me they couldn't see me until the following Wednesday. This was on a Friday morning I called after leaving a message the night before. I had no other way to get to work so I filled up my tire and drove to the Toyoto dealer in Burnsville who said they could get me in immediately. I only wish I had bought my tires from them. I told them about the poor service and they proceeded to tell me that their tires are warrantied for 2 years. I had to pay to have my tire repaired from a nail puncture but it was worth avoiding the aggravation of trying to book an appointment with Discount Tire. I don't think the tires I bought from them have much of a tread either. I should have looked at them before I bought them because the Toyota dealer made a comment that (not knowing they were new) I had some time left on them. I don't know if they gave me something other than what I paid for and am tempted to return them and go to the Toyota dealer who I trust. read more

I recently purchased new winter tires from the Apple Valley location. On my initial visit I was treated professionally like my business was important. The next day my TPMS sensor light came on. I called the store and they said come on in and they would reset it. During my visit it was found to be a battery in one of my sensors had gone bad. I asked if they could repair it being that I was already there and it only costed 60$. The person helping me said I would have to go the end of the line. The person also said if I didn't want to wait he would make me an appointment for a week later being the next available time. The person did not give me a card or send me any email or text reminders as to when my appointment was. Being a responsible person I called the store but a day late thinking my appointment was on that day. He said I missed it but to come in they weren't busy at the moment the earlier the better. I drove in right away but waited 20 minutes to even be acknowledged. After getting checked in I waited 2 hours and they didn't even touch my car. I asked when they thought they were going to be able to get at it since I was told the earlier the better and nothing was seeming to get done. I felt like I had hurried for nothing at this point. I was told not anytime soon that appointments had showed up and that if I wanted I could schedule again in another week! I am so disappointed in the service. The manager was right there and said nothing in my favor even though he was the one I had talked to on the phone. They didn't take the 15 minutes to make sure I was a satisfied customer. I just got jerked around over and over. I was treated like my time and money didn't mean anything. Almost like I was an inconvenience. I will never spend money at this store again. I spent over $2000.00 on 2 sets of tires this year. Maintaining a good customer through customer service obviously means nothing to these people. The store is not ran professionally you can tell by looking at all the customers faces in disbelief on how people are treated just walking in the door.
