[student] (prefer not to say the position and name) was here for kindergarten and it was alright but she moved schools because the principle for there at that time had said something offensive to the parent and years later [student] was going to try again and go back for middle school but on the choice night the parent was talking with the principle and he said something very offensive to the parent so if your going to think about letting your kid stay here i suggest you do a background check. read more

I love this school, and all of my kids go here on one campus, K-12, which is not only convenient, but the schools are all excellent. This is also an IB and IB Diploma Program school, which offers unique opportunities for students to complete projects and classes otherwise not offered at many public schools. The staff and administrators are hard-working and dedicated. My youngest started Kindergarten here and is now finishing 3rd grade and we have LOVED all of his teachers! The volunteers at this school are amazing as well, and dedicate so much time and energy to making Discovery Canyon Campus more than just a school, it's a community. read more

Discovery Canyon Campus - Specialty Schools Near Me - Colorado Springs, Colorado

My children have been attending DCC since 2013. We have 7 children so the idea of a K-12 was great. We live very close to the school, within 1.5 miles but my children take the bus due to being across Northgate Blvd. There is a fee for the children to take the bus, $100 for the entire year. Luckily for us there is a $250 cap per semester. All of my kids enjoy going to school. We have only had a few instances of bulling over the years. Each incident was resolved quickly and to the satisfaction of our family. The education provided is top notch and the facility is at the same level. Although, I do believe the school already needs to expand in size due to the large volume of parents wanting their children to attend. My children have always been provided the help and attention they need to excel. Over all we could not be happier. read more

My daughter is in kindergarden at the Elementary School. I like her team that works with her, because she is special needs. They are great. But the parking and pick up system needs work. It is a big, big issue. There is a line of cars for parents picking up kids once the bell rings. There used to be a lane right beside it to allow special needs and disabled children's parents through to the handicap spots. They have now blocked that lane and told me it is because the high schoolers are out and walking around at that time and don't want people speeding through the lot. But there are a ton of speed bumps, what is one more? Or even a sign? But don't block access to the parents who need to get to the kids that need help. They said we have to wait in the long line, and once the bell rings, and as the kids come out to the cars, we move up with the line and then can park in those spots once we get up there. At that point, it has been 20 plus minutes since the bell rang and everybody else has cleared out, but the disabled kids! How backwards is that?! These special needs and disabled children need help and assistance with everything, or at least my child does. And it is very wrong to have them being the ones waiting longer than anyone else. It is very, very sad to me that that is the way they are running things, and they have fought me on that. This needs to change! read more
