I LOVE falafel! Because I just absolutely love falafel so much, I know falafel! I eat it everywhere I can -- and can safely say this is the BEST! It's accessible with plenty of parking nearby, including several disabled parking spots right out front, is absolutely beautiful inside with stunning black-and-white tiles adorning the counter (where you can order -- although there is also a screen-type ordering system in the entryway, as well) wall, enticing photos of all the important things in life -- those being fresh figs, olives, spices, and unfiltered coffee being poured, all along the wall above the tables with most comfortable seating! There are Turkish plates and copper pots hung above, as well, to give a splendid feeling of how food can be heartily prepared and beautifully served -- and beautifully served it is here! The caffeine-free mint tea comes in a gorgeous metal pot and is drunk from a glass glass (meaning a glass made of glass, not ceramic) with eye-catching decorations that will help to bring you into the spirit of the meal you are about to have .... The Quinoa Tabouli Salad with Falafel is spectacular! It's standout amazing, delicious, refreshingly oh-so-fresh, crispy, crunchy, yummy -- how many good-to-great things can I say about it? If I keep complimenting it as much as it deserves, you might get bored, ha ha! You might think that I'm exaggerating. I'm not. Of course, it's possible I'm biased and have tastes that just happen to align with this particular falafel spot's way of preparing things -- but I think not! I think this is objectively over-the-top in greatness! The District Salad is equally splendiferous and worth your time to indulge in savouring every bite. There are so many great-looking things here I can't wait to try! I must taste the Shorbat Adas (puréed lentil soup), (non-quinoa) Tabouli, Toom, and many other things here! The variety is very wowing! Most places just don't give you this variety in terms of various dishes or the variety within each dish that this place does -- and that contributes greatly to not only your appetite but also your health. So much care is clearly put into everything here from the décor to the drinks to the hospitality. It's really like a mini, super-tasty trip to the Near East -- and welcomes everyone equally. As the name suggests, the falafel are the stars of the show at this cozy North Bethesda gem. The staff greeted us warmly and made us feel very welcome throughout our experience. The dining room was a bit small. We went at an off hour, so there were plenty of available tables, but I could see it getting a bit tight at peak times. Now, the food!! My wife LOVED her lentil soup and falafel salad plate. I got the chicken shawarma wrap and a falafel wrap. The shawarma wrap was tasty, but the falafel wrap was superior. The falafel were hot, crisp and flavorful with just the right amount of tahini covering them along with a generous pile of veggies. Can't wait for my next visit! Food was great! I enjoyed everything that we ordered! A chicken cheese sub, tabbouleh, halloumi, and samosas. The sub was fantastic...a spin on a regular chicken cheesesteak, with seasoned chicken, cheese, lettuce, and mayo (allergic to tomato, but it does come on it). The tabbouleh was also very good, and fresh. I'm a sucker for halloumi and eating the pomegranate with the pan seared halloumi sticks gave it an extra boost. If you haven't tried halloumi I highly recommend it. It's a cheese that is mild and tastes very good when pan seared or fried like a mozzarella stick. Samosas were very good as well and were small, included whole vegetables, and had a bit of a spicy kick! Food was seasoned well but not salty. If you enjoy flavor over salt and looking for healthy options you will like this place. Will definitely be back when I'm in the area! read more

I'm a regular here and the food is better than ever. The haloumi salad on a recent scorching hot day was the perfect antidote to the heat. The lamb gyro wrap was mid, the meat was dry I don't know if it was freshly made but you could tell it needed a little bit of moisture (the cashier did say it would be ready in 3 minutes....), but with the tzatziki it made up for it, and the portion size was generous. We picked up Thai and were walking out and saw District Falafel. I had to pick up some hummus. The staff was friendly and service was fast. I believe they are new in the mall? (I don't recall seeing them before). The hummus was glorious. It has a bit of a kick to it too which was unexpected but I liked it a lot. It's more on the tart side (lemon) but tasty. Just looking for a place to have dinner last night and happened to stumble upon this little gem. We got the chicken shawarma platter and lamb kabob platter for our entrees. Both dishes came with humus and ample pita bread. Chicken was delicious and tender. Lamb was slightly tough and could be softer. Falafel appetizer was nice and crispy. Loved the baklava for dessert! Service was just wonderful. We were treated like it was a fancy restaurant instead of a pay-at-the-counter-seat-yourself place. I have only one disappointment. District Falafel is a great addition to the Montgomery Mall food court. The space is located right by the Chikfila. I recently ordered the Falafel Wrap with a side of French Fries. The Falafel Wrap is reasonably priced and filling. This comes with Hummus, Tomato, Cucumber, Lettuce, Parsley and Tahini Sauce. It was wrapped securely and so it did not easily fall apart as I was eating it. The wrap was flavorful and the Falafel was well cooked. Overall, I think this is another great option for the food court. Historically, this particular space has not done well so I am hoping that District Falafel sticks around because I did enjoy my wrap and would love to try other items on the menu soon :) read more

I enjoy our conversations each time I am there. Very kind people. Thursday I had a delicious quinoa salad bowl with tender grilled chicken it was so good that I went back Friday and had it again and added Mo's special to my order. It was a delicious wrap with steak, hummus, pickles etc . It was fantastic. I am gluten free, the wrap was made of sun dried tomato and something else. I cant recall what , but it was delicious. I have fallen in love with Mediterranean food. District Falafel is Mediterranean food at its finest. We had lunch at District Felafel yesterday. It is located right next to Westlake Montgomery Mall. The design is a nice blend of cool Mediterranean colors. It blends comfort with modern convenience. There is an ordering kiosk right as you enter the restaurant. We had a few questions, so we walked up to the counter. The waitstaff was very kind and helpful. We ordered baba ganoush with pita, as an appetizer. This baba ganoush was the best I have ever tasted. The creamy, roasted eggplant, had just a hint of smokiness and the pomegranates on the top, added a sweet burst of flavor. We both loved it. Next, I ordered the felafel and hummus platter. The portion size was very generous and the felafel were light, perfectly fried, and delicious. The hummus was creamy, full of flavor, and unctuous. I was in heaven. It also came with pita and a Mediterranean salad. It was amazing. My dining companion ordered the Zattar chicken breast platter. It was huge in portion size. The chicken was marinated, tender, tasty, and satisfying. The white sauce on top was full of flavor. It came with a Mediterranean salad and rice too. The salads were packed with fresh vegetables and the dressing was excellent. The warm pita was the perfect choice to soak up the baba ganoush or creamy hummus. The service was great. I drove over from Laurel, Md to check out the rumor that they had the best falafel ever. It was true! I was concerned that the chipotle cauliflower would be too spicy. The clerk said "On a scale of 1 to 10, it's a 4." He was exactly right. The falafel practically melts in your mouth. I will be back. read more

Quick service here, AUTHENTIC Mediterranean food! Delicious meat, so tender and juicy! The chicken was so warm, it tasted like it had just been cooked. The veggies were really fresh and crunchy. We were visiting from Hawaii, when we ran into this fantastic little restaurant in Bethesda. From the outside, it's nothing special, but the food is fantastic. The first thing is the food is cooked very well, not overcooked or undercooked or dried out because it's been sitting around a long time. Everything seemed fresh and the flavors were spot on. They have many vegetarian options as well. The service was friendly and fast, the prices are more than reasonable, and servings rather generous. Wow. The Kofta me Tahini (ground beef) platter tasted amazing and authentic! The flavors just made my heart sing! This platter came with rice, salad, hummus, and pita bread (in a compostable container ). This was my first time to District falafel, and I loved it! The service was excellent- the young man hosting and serving was friendly and courteous. I'll be back! I'm looking forward to trying other items on the menu, especially the chicken Shawarma, and of course, their falafel! I hope you'll stop by and enjoy this food as much as I did. Parking is right out front, and there are tables and chairs to eat at inside. The plating is nice. I wish they gave a little more salad honestly. But this meal is pretty well balanced.
