I've eaten here a few times now when visiting Vegas. Once was many years ago, another was January 2023 and recently again a week ago during EDC weekend. I remember their pho being much better before. I normally order pho tai but went with Shaking Beef Pho this time. Prices have for sure gone up! $25 for a bowl of pho that barely tasted like pho!! This one adds some sate or chili in it but it still lacked any of the pho spice flavors. One of my friends also ordered this as well and agreed. My other friend ordered the Oxtail Pho. I tried a sip of his broth and it was the same. No pho spices at all. It's already a bad sign when you walk into a pho spot or when they bring the bowls out and you don't smell the aroma of pho. My friend's oxtail wasn't even cooked long enough. The pros: the noodles were cooked perfectly and the shaking beef in the pho was tender. Our server was also nice. Not sure if maybe it was just an off day or maybe they were still making the broth and forgot the spice. Idk but I will be choosing a different pho restaurant next time I'm in Vegas read more

The flavor and freshness was delicious plus a hint of truffle, the perfect touch. Highly recommend! Garlic Serrano Chicken Wings; 10/10 the garlic, green onions, and the peppers with the chicken. It was nicely crisp and the chicken was moist! I'm sure we all love moist chicken! Garlic Noodles with added Chicken; 10/10 This dish surprised my boyfriend and i. The flavor was all there and it had some sort of smoky/wok flavor. Very enjoyable! Oxtail Loco Moco with Pho Gravy & Egg; 9/10 This dish is extremely heavy! Definitely can be shareable. We came to District One around 8 PM with a party of seven and were seated right away. We've been here before and like that it offers good food and flexible seating for groups. Our server was friendly and helpful. He offered to split the checks for different groups in our party, which we appreciated. My friend and I shared the garlic noodles with shrimp and the oxtail fried rice. The noodles were flavorful and smelled great. The oxtail fried rice was also really good, and the portions were generous. Some friends ordered cocktails and liked the drink options. This place is really good! We came on Friday and arrived a little before 5pm. To our surprise, the place was closed. They recently implemented new hours and close between 3-5pm lunch and dinner. We waited about 10 minutes and the restaurant opened right at 5. We were seated right away amongst a few other parties. The restaurant decor reminded me of a seafood broil type place, with a full bar and booth seating along the walls. It was happy hour which runs from 3-6 on weekdays. I think this needs to be adjusted to their new hours since they are closed for most of that time frame. At first, I was reluctant after peeking at their small menu selection with multiple items crossed out. The server mentioned that they often change and replace items. Anyway, we ended up ordering the beef carpaccio, chicken wings in garlic Serrano sauce, crispy egg rolls, and bon bu hue noodle soup. Everything came out really fast and every dish was packed with so much flavor. The beef carpaccio was for sure the star of the show. We definitely did not leave disappointed. I stopped by 1 hour before they close the kitchen so I had to order everything once I sat down. I ordered: Pho Tai no cilantro Pho Ga Pho Dac Biet Crispy Eggrolls 6 Oysters on a half shell The broth is flavorful and they were generous with giving lime slices. The oysters were delicious. I thought it would have a hard time swallowing these because of its size but no issue here. Staffs are friendly and always checking in on us. The only downfall was that they definitely use old oil to fry the eggrolls. I thought they were going to be the jumbo size eggrolls I normally see at other Vietnamese restaurants but these are the small ones. I would skip it next time. They also ran out of coconut juice and coconut ice cream so I couldn't try these during my visit. What a bummer. Parking lot available. I've been here twice now and I've enjoyed both my experiences! I don't have high expectations for Vietnamese food in Vegas since I'm from California but this place definitely exceeded my expectations. Their Oxtail Fried Rice is probably the best fried rice I've ever had in my life- the oxtail was so tender and I really liked how the rice really soft/fluffy and packed with flavor. Even though it's on the oilier side(probably from the oxtail fat), it doesn't taste greasy at all. We also got the Big Bone Soup and the flavor for this one was decadent, I really like the pho broth that it comes with as well. Their Oxtail Pho is also good, just not my favorite as I don't really opt for pho noodles. I thought the grilled scallops were going to come with clear vermicelli noodles but it was actually with toasted nuts and green onions, which I absolutely loved! It was different than that I'm used to, so I really enjoyed this as our appetizer and would highly recommend. I love that there's also a bar here, they have a really cool drink menu with their own Vietnamese take on traditional drinks like michelada, moscow mule, mojito, and so on. Our favorite was the Fresh Coconut Mojito, which had super cute presentation by coming in a real coconut! Love that they also give you the fresh coconut juice on the side. You definitely get your money's worth here, their portions are huge and probably meant for sharing so it's a great place to eat family style. This Vietnamese restaurant is a little ways away from the strip but it's definitely worth the commute. Service was also great considering we were a dozen people. We had the belly buns, spicy edamame, shaking beef pho, ribeye pho, shrimp pho, oxtail pho and who can leave this place without the ginormous Big Bone pho!!! All of the pho was delicious. Generously portions and the broth was so savory. They definitely don't skimp of the protein or veggies. It just tasted so fresh it was a delight. I personally loved the belly buns which are pork belly bao buns with this sweet sauce definitely ordering this again. The spicy edamame was good too worth a try. As for the Big Bone pho I didn't indulge but two of the tall guys in my group absolutely loved it. They thought it was so good they finished it with pleasure. We came here for lunch and there were not a lot of people here. They had a wide selection of pho so I went with what I normally ordered at pho restaurants and got the Pho Tai. The waitress was nice and friendly as well. The restaurant looked clean so that was good. The food came out a few minutes later and the Pho Tai was okay to me. The broth had flavor but wasn't what I was used to and was their version of it. The meat was not thinly sliced but again, this was their version of it. Nothing wrong with their version. The portion was enough to fill me up so I thought it was okay overall. I have being to Gao Viet in San Mateo, District One is a very poor imitation. It doesnt live up to the hype like Gao Viet. Carpaccio and egg rolls were good, but the chicken wings were flavorless, I can't believe so many people order this. The pho broth doesn't have the usual cinnamon and black cardamom flavor and came Luke warm rather than boiling hot. Bo lu lac could use more wok hei and more meat given the $26 price tag. For $21, you're not getting a ton of anything - it's regular sized bowl and not much else. It was the same for the phở combo ($21). Inflation, amiright? Sheesh. **** BEWARE OF THEIR "ACCIDENTAL" TIPS**** I've been to District One in Las Vegas multiple times, and it's always my first or last stop before heading back home. This time, I decided to take my friends for their first visit. While the food was as great as always, the service was a major letdown. When we first walked in, the restaurant was empty, yet we were met with an attitude and told to wait while they set up a table. After a few minutes, we were finally seated, but it seemed like the employees didn't want to serve that day. We were barely spoken to, and it felt like they were avoiding our table. Getting someone's attention was a challenge, and the experience was already off to a horrible start. On a positive note, the food runners were very nice and welcoming. However, the service was inconsistent. We would request something, and the worker would go to the back kitchen, only to come back out and forget what we asked for. This happened multiple times, even though the place wasn't busy at all. We had to ask multiple employees for anything specific, only to finally be told they no longer had it. Ridiculous. To top it off, I received an email showing they manually added an extra charge on top of the gratuity! No way am I adding a 42% tip for that kind of service. I wonder how many mistakes like these they are going to make. Overall, while the food is great, the service needs a serious overhaul. Until then, I won't be coming back. read more

We ordered: Crispy egg rolls (10/5): Crispy, crunchy, and delicious! If you've never been Vietnamese egg rolls, these are a must! Wrap it in lettuce with mint and carrots and pickled radish and dip it in that special sauce and you're in heaven! We started out with the belly buns. The flavors were good but the belly was a little dry and seemed like it might have been braised? I tried the shaking beef salad. Every Vietnamese Restaurant that I've been to always stir fries or wok sears shaking beef but here was different. This beef had the right flavors (soy sauce/fish sauce based) but seemed like braised or stewed beef. I could get past that but my bowl was filled with the marinade or braising liquid and my salad was a pile of melting greens and a soggy mess. I would not recommend the shaking beef salad to anyone. Our server highly recommended the shaking beef pho to my husband. It was better than the salad and also was spicy. It also was made with what seemed like braised or stewed beef so it was a little odd to us. Our server was attentive and at the end we did inform him about the soggy salad. District One is a Vietnamese Asian Fusion restaurant with 2k+ reviews on Yelp. Located outside of the Vegas strip and at the edge of Chinatown Vegas. They are famously popular for their Lobster Pho. Which was the first thing that caught my eye on the menu. (Also, there's news articles and awards at the entrance). For $60 USD, was it worth it? Honest review, the soup was light and subdued. It was missing that aroma Pho usually has. The aromatic. The lobster was not too juicy. Probably not a live Lobster but a frozen one. The meat was giving the Nevada desert. Ok but not that dry. Overall, it was not worth $60. But I have no regrets; at least I gave it a try. The OXtail fried rice was really good. The flavour was there. Reminds me of the takeout Salt fish fried rice my parents would always get. The rice drank up that ox tail flavour and juice and made it so umami. The fried egg on top was the cherry on top. The cocktails are incredible here. Well crafted and mixed. The restaurant is spacious with a lot of seating. The service was great; don't have any complains. TLDR: An upscale pho place that takes bold steps to take traditional ideologies to the modern age. All this at the cost of your wallet though. Big Bone Soup: It's what I imagined how pho is made. Bone marrow, big chunks of meat, and a healthy amount of garnishes. Removing the meat and marrow from the bone will take some work, but it is a labor of love for meat lovers. Taste wise, it's a bit of a letdown given the price. However, it's still worth experiencing at least once. Lobster Pho: Another item of indulgence that isn't what I'd call worth it. There's not a whole lot of lobster meat in it and the dish tries to make up for it via presentation. One major positive though is how they recreated the essence of pho but with a lobster taste. Came in on a Saturday afternoon, 1530 to be exact and fairly quiet. Tried making reservations on Yelp but the earliest was 7pm so we just walked in. Ambiance was RnB and the lighting was ample as we sat in the booth. There were 5 of us but the booths seat 6 so plenty of elbow room. The establishment resides in a food plaza so arrive early or you will be looking to park off street. The place is fairly clean and we can tell no tourists as this looks like a locals favorite place to eat. We asked a friend and he recommended this place. There is even a full service bar. The menu doesn't do any justice however, scan the QR Code to get the picture version and you will be amazed on the fusion part of the Vietnamese dishes. Service was quick and restrooms were clean. We ordered: -Shaking Beef Pho was ok as they said and nothing to brag about. -Rib Eye Pho was good as well and you can taste the fusion twist to it. -Big Bone Soup this thing is humongous and can feed 3 to 4 people. Recommend all to try. -Sea Snail With Lemongrass Broth was actually cooked well and seasoned right as I thought we were not going to like it however, we recommend everyone to try this dish. -Thjt Nurong Skewers was good as everyone killed it! -Matcha Thai Tea looked and tasted amazing however, was loaded with ice so not worth it unless you just want several sips until done with. So I'm not sure if any other place can compare to it ever again! Yall haveee to go try that place. I went to District One Kitchen and Bar with my family, including my nieces and nephews -- a party of 10. While the food was good, the service was absolutely horrible and completely ruined our experience. When we arrived, no one greeted us. We stood waiting at the entrance for 15 minutes while staff ignored us and even approached another customer who arrived after us. Thankfully, that customer pointed out that we were first. Once seated, things didn't improve. Some of our orders were missed, and what did come out took an unreasonably long time. No one checked on our table during the meal, and we ran out of water with no refills offered. The staff that day were rude and unprofessional.
