    Beef stew

I was a bit skeptical to try this food joint because being from Los Angeles, I did not think that anyone can come close to the awesomeness of Pho Hoa in Chinatown and Pho So 1 in Reseda. Boy, was I wrong about that! District Tonkin offers a variety of Vietnamese food that rivals the authenticity and flavor of the food served in Los Angeles. The rice noodle salad was served warm with a nice touch of heat. What I like about it was the rice noodles were served warm, unlike in LA the places served their noodles cold. The fish sauce was right on the money! Veggies were crisp and fresh tasting! The Vietnamese eggrolls did not disappoint, they were meaty and crunchy! The banh mi sandwich was gigantic. The liver pate seemed to me inadequate (or missing!) and I just wished that there was a bit more of the cold cut meat. Still awesome sandwich! Beef stew was very tasty and addicting. Not too rich and very nice to pair with their full size fresh french baguette. Price was fair and the staff were polite and friendly. Just a tad bit disappointed that they do not serve Pho until 5:30 pm. I came in for lunch. I was thinking to myself, they serve Pho at 7:30 AM in Los Angeles! LOL!

If you are looking for a restaurant that has a good atmosphere with a lot of space this is the place. District Tonik offers a big variety of different dishes. However, you couldn't change the meat so that was a disappointment. So lastly, I recommend this place if you travel with a big group or just want a quiet silent place to hang out and eat good food at. I tried the pho! 10/10.

They don't have an abundance of food items which is fine as this means they can concentrate and do what they offer well. They do have a good selection of Teas & Soft Drinks. You order/pay at the counter and the food is brought out to the table. Note-they don't have a Toilet I tried the Chao Ca Ri with Crispy Duck which was cooked to perfection. The Curry was just right spicy. Everything (Basil, Cilantro, Lemon Grass, Mixed Veggies, etc.) in the bowl worked well together & I would highly recommend this dish. Lovely dish on an overcast and cold Copenhagen day. Paired it with a Tiger Beer. The Beer costs slightly less than a Mineral water. Hmmmm A hidden gem-will definitely be back!

We always get a great service, we come here so often that they almost know what we want to order. They might seem a bit special in the way they serve you or take your order, but that is part of the charm. It is cosy place and we recommend it for dinner as a couple, with friends and group. Everything on the menu looks inviting and very filling, so if you are looking for warm satisfying food and affordable good food this is definitely the place.

I went searching for Vietnamese soup though, because I had a cold, and Denmark refuses to sell cold medicine over the counter! So, I was trying to treat my cold with hot soup, and the "hot soup" aspect was fulfilled. Authentic? Amazing? Not really. The many of missing stars are for the service. The woman who's front of house never asked me if I wanted a drink, and when I did ask for some water, I watched her fill a glass from the back sink, and then saw a 5kr charge for that. Really? Beware, she speaks little to no English. I probably should have known better when I walked in, as the place was empty the entire time I was there.

That said, this is the spot to try if you want to taste the famous "LêLê" menu without going to the actual fine-dining restaurant. Unless of course you have the $. Great spot for a cool salad and Vietnamese ice coffee on a hot summer day, but flavors are not authentic enough to satisfy my vietnamese food craving. Salad was just regular greens with a simple sauce, nothing I couldn't make from my own kitchen. Vermicelli roll was OK, again nothing special, making it seem overpriced even for Copenhagen. I think a lot of it has to do with the branding - they do a good job of spreading themselves throughout the city, making themselves known to the Danes who will find the cuisine new and interesting. Good, fresh picnic food. I'm glad they don't pre-make their rolls. But overall, I wouldn't recommend LêLê, as there are other more affordable, more bang-for-your-buck options if you just do your research. Hint: Do you want real, tasty, authentic vietnamese food in Copenhagen? Go to Nha Trang in Nørrebro!!! All main plates are around 100 dkk, AMAZING Vietnamese coffee. Seriously, GO!

I appreciated the free tap water. As a tourist, I also appreciated the menu having pictures; this helped me pick up some Danish while feeling confident that I knew what I was ordering. I end up giving LêLê 2 stars simply because of price. They were just so hugely expensive that what we ate did not match what we paid. Had they been *half* the price, I would happily give them 4 stars. But given the price, it's like eating an ordinary meal in a cafeteria but paying for a really fancy one at a sit-down place. We didn't know any better, again, because it was our first meal in the city. But as we came to understanding pricing during our visit here, we also came to understand just how overprice LêLê is.
