Absolutely LOVED My Experience At Divan ! My Server Maya Was The Absolute BEST . As A Server Myself , I Know Exactly What Great Service Looks Like , And She Treated Us Exactly How I Would Treat My Own Tables . I Was Beyond Satisfied With Her Service ! Farid & Andrew ( management ) Were Also So Sweet And Attentive , Checking On Us Throughout Our Visit And Making Sure We Were Having A Great Time . They Even Brought Us A Slice Of The Pomegranate Cheesecake -- And BABYYYY ... ‍‍‍ The Oysters Were As Per Usual , And The Seafood Pasta Was Delicious . But That Lamb Shank And Duck Leg ?! TO DIE FOR . 10 / 10 Experience , Amazing Food , Ambiance , And Even Better Hospitality . I'll Definitely Be Back ! ( I forgot to get pictures of everything )

My first time visit to Divan was simply DIVINE! This hidden gem in the heart of Midtown is a must try! The ambiance was pretty chill, and far from pretentious. The excellent customer service was welcoming, knowledgeable, patient, and accommodating. Huge thanks to Manager Farid (the complimentary Saffron Ice Cream was delicious pleasant surprise!), Bartender Jeremy, and David in the upstairs hookah area (try the Spring Blossom blend)! The delicious food tastes something like I've never had before and the pairings are quite unique! Can't wait to return!

Cool place with outstanding food!! Everything we got made us audibly say "wow." Can't wait to come back from California to try more things! They were out of mussels, so we got shrimp instead -- do NOT skip them. So fire. The kashke bademjaan is also a must-have. The duck leg confit was unbelievable!! For mains, we got the lamb chops (the star of the table and huge), the lamb shank (so comforting and tender), and the sea bass (flaky, crispy, and I could've licked the fava bean purée off the plate!!) We got too many appetizers and were so full by the end, but those leftovers hit the next day. We were too late for hookah, but next time. Beautiful vibe inside! Valet parking only, I believe, unless you get lucky.

I've always really enjoyed Divan throughout the years. The food is flavorful and delicious and the staff is always so friendly. On this particular occasion, the valet staff was extremely rude to me and my party. We didn't let it ruin the evening. We enjoyed our dinner and when the manager came by to check on us, we told him about our experience (with no expectations) but he did give us desserts and I believed and a round of drinks on the house. He was an excellent manager. Absolutely amazing customer service. On to the food, the mussels were my favorite and outstanding. Everything we had was amazing. I highly recommend the wings as well. If you are looking for something lighter and still flavorful, the cauliflower is a really good choice. I didn't get it on this occasion but the salmon pasta is delicious and one of my favorite dishes. I took off one star because although our waiter was friendly, it took him a very long time to check on us and bring us the bill. I had to find him to ask him to bring us the check and as you can see from the pictures, it wasn't super busy at all. Also took off the one star because parking can be a hassle.

We approached the restaurant and pulled in the valet parking line right in front. I think this is your best choice. It is only $10, plus credit card fee and tip. The valet attendant took my phone number, sent me a text and said click the link 5 mins before I was ready to pick up the car. We entered and headed for the check-in desk. I informed them of my reservation, they checked us in and asked if we could stand to the side for a few minutes. We were quickly greeted by another hostess who led us upstairs to our table and provided menus. We started to review the menu and noticed the beer selection was pretty small, with only about eight choices. Our server, Zee, came over and immediately made us feel welcome. This was our 1st visit and I heard the place was called the "Castle" with 4 different levels. I had all types of questions about the menu and layout. Our server was ready for it all. He explained we were seated in the main dining room, on level 2. Levels 3 and 4 had some outside seating, event space and some open lounge areas. I would definitely have to go on a recon mission later to check out the other levels. As far as the menu was concerned, Zee started to give us his recommendation for appetizers and entrees. Listing some of his favorites and other popular dishes. At this point we only decided on the beers we wanted. We both ordered a Turkish beer called Efes. Zee went to get our beers and we continued to review and discuss the menu. We were contemplating a few things as our beers arrived. We ordered a couple of appetizers to share; the PEI Mussels and the Tandoori Wings. For our main entrees, I ordered the Springer Mtn Saffron Chicken Kabob and Wifey ordered the Garlic Shrimp. Zee came to the rescue again, informing us that both of our dishes came with a huge amount of rice and suggested we substitute one order of rice with another side. We decided to keep Wifey's Dill Basmati rice and I would get the sautéed green bean. When he found out we were local to Atlanta he said he thinks we just found our new favorite restaurant. As we were waiting I was looking at other people's plates and the food looked delicious. Our beers and appetizers arrived quickly and we started digging in. The Tandoori wings were falling off the bone tender and seasoned well. Wifey was the first to taste the muscles and she loved them. I tasted them and we agreed the broth the mussels were cooked with and also sitting in the bowl was the star of the dish. That broth was excellent and would make anything taste good. I took a break from the appetizers and said this was my chance to check out the 3rd and 4th floors. I headed upstairs in the castle and both floors looked like someone's house was converted into a lounge area, but definitely in a good way. There were some areas with small tables and others with a very open layout perfect for groups. Both floors also had some outside seating that we will definitely have to try next time. I noticed the seating did not have a lot of shade and was taking a lot of direct sunlight. That could be a problem on a hot summer day in Atlanta. I was snapping my pictures and walking around and Wifey called me to let me know the food had arrived. I headed back to the table and checked out the spread. Everything smelled great and looked delicious. We started tasting everything and were not disappointed. Zee definitely came up with the right suggestion for sides. There was more than enough rice and green beans to share between our 2 entrees. I loved my Chicken Kebob and all I got out of Wifey was "the shrimp are divine". Zee mentioned some great desserts that sounded tempting, but we decided against it and wrapped up the bill. The check actually arrived in a cool wooden box that said "Divan Restaurant at the Castle" This was an excellent 1st visit to The Castle. The food, service and atmosphere were all Top Notch. Zee was very attentive and took great care of us. I can't recommend Divan enough.

Honestly, I didn't know what to expect from this restaurant... but I'm happy to say that we were very pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere, decor and music were all incredible. The restaurant itself was an old house that looks like a castle, in the middle of Atlanta. Perfect for a date night! We wanted to try a little bit of a few dishes, so we got some potatoes for starters.. delicious. But the habanero sauce that comes with it, is no joke. Spicy! Then we got some chicken and beef kabobs with basmati rice. Delicious! And to finish it off.. we got some baklava with saffron ice cream. Yum!! All the staff there is super friendly and knowledgeable. Stop by next time you're around downtown Atlanta, you'll thank me later.

I recently celebrated a friend's birthday at Divan, and it was my first time at their new location. I used to visit the old restaurant, but over time, it lost a bit of its appeal for me. Still, I was excited to check out this historic home. The inside is gorgeous. They did a great job with the space, and there are plenty of private rooms, which is great for events. One thing to note--there's an elevator, which some of the women in heels wished they had known about before climbing three flights of stairs. The elevator is functional, but I could see them making it a design highlight down the line. They also have several patios for outdoor dining, tucked into different corners of the home, which is a nice touch. Now, about the food. Divan offers both food and hookah, so naturally, one is going to stand out a bit more. The menu has a lot of choices, but I'd say the food was just okay. It looks nice on the plate, but aside from a couple of dishes, it feels like your standard Atlanta hookah restaurant. With places like Delbar, Yalda, and Rumi's in the mix, Divan is facing some stiff competition. It used to be the go-to restaurant, but for me, it's faded a bit. Still, I'd happily come back for hookah and some small bites, which seems to be their sweet spot now. The restaurant's atmosphere does give off a more premium feel than the food really matches. I had the beet salad, which was tasty, though the goat cheese was blended into a creamy sauce instead of chunks--still good, but I prefer the chunks. It was mostly arugula, and I missed the mandarin oranges. The lamb bolognese, though, was genuinely tasty. As for drinks, I had the Dragon's Tail and Persian Smash--both were fine, nothing extraordinary, but enjoyable enough. I have a feeling sitting on the main floor might offer a slightly better experience, but that's just a hunch. All in all, Divan is a great place if you're looking for a decent meal and hookah. It may not be the top choice if you're after the best regional cuisine, but if you want to relax, eat, and enjoy hookah it's a win!

My party of 3 had an 8:30 reservation on a Friday night. They got our table ready while we parked. Our table was in a small cozy room, which I found nice so that we could hear each other talk. Our server was great! I believe his name was Que. He gave us time to browse the menu and have honest feedback on the dishes we asked about, which was much appreciated! This was my first time coming but my family member have been here before. All of the food was well done. For starters we had the roasted cauliflower. It was well seasoned and the sauce underneath was great and went well with the crispy chickpeas. Between us we had the grilled tandoori wings, koobideh kabob, mussels, and salmon Alfredo. Everything was well seasoned and well cooked. The kabob was tender and even the rice accompaniment was well executed. We also had desserts and drinks which were great as well. I can't wait to come back!

I got the Soltani which was also amazing. The thing to do though is sub out the Zereshk Polo rice. You won't regret it. I got a little adventurous and ordered the Torshi - pickled vegetables. I'm not really into vegetables and I was a little worried when it showed up and didn't look very appealing to me - but it was SO good. Loved it. The staff were seemingly entertained that I liked it - apparently it's only Persian people that are into it, and they kind of laughed when I wanted to take the leftovers with me. My son liked it too though! And he's picky. We were getting ready to go when suddenly they brought an ice cream and wished me happy birthday. I think they heard my son wish me a happy birthday at dinner. Just really paying attention to detail. So this bright yellow Persian ice cream shows up. I've never had it. It is really different - like a cross between dinner and desert flavors. That doesn't sound good but trust me it's great. Again, my picky son loved it! It's got a saffron-pistachio-rose thing going on that actually really works! Much of this is probably very familiar to those who have enjoyed Persian food before. For our family it was a new and wonderful experience. I love this restaurant and DEFINITELY want to come back for Father's day. This is going to be my new special occasion spot.

We had 4 adults and one 3 year old. We got out for something in the neighborhood of of $240. Ordering is ala carte: we had 3 meats, 3 sides, drinks. We had a very small bit left over. Decor was excellent. A beautiful entryway, muted lighting, muted noise. Service was attentive, friendly, and very helpful. While I'd love to return regularly, price makes that impossible, but it was definitely worth this visit. It will be up for consideration next time we have something big to celebrate.

As a longtime San Francisco Bay Area foodie, I've been spoiled by incredible international food and…read morebold, complex flavors, so I'm always excited when I find a restaurant that delivers that same sense of discovery. Delbar absolutely does. The food here stands on its own--layered, interesting and incredibly delicious. I had been looking forward to dinner at Delbar Old Milton for two reasons: a long-overdue dinner with an old colleague and a serious craving for Middle Eastern food. After battling Atlanta-area traffic from Marietta--it took nearly an hour for what should have been about a 30-minute drive--I was ready to settle in, catch up and EAT. I'd previously been to Delbar in Inman Park with a group and loved it, so expectations were high. Old Milton did not disappoint. The restaurant itself is gorgeous. Warm, sophisticated and beautifully designed, with a Persian rug welcoming you along the entrance and complimentary valet parking--a huge plus. The young valet team was impressively polished and efficient. I started with a Paper Plane, apparently my new financially irresponsible cocktail habit. Delicious, but these things are expensive! I blame the Italian liqueur. Two cocktails pushed north of $40, so perhaps I need a more economical signature drink. Then came the food. We started with the beet carpaccio: red beets, whipped feta, burnt honey, sour orange, pistachio and almond dukkha. Beautifully balanced--earthy, creamy, sweet, tart and nutty all at once. I let my dinner companion take over ordering from there, which proved to be an excellent decision. The Bandari Olovieh was the surprise of the evening: saffron-marinated smoked salmon with cream cheese, dill, chives, jalapeño purée, potatoes, Aleppo pepper, urfa, hot sauce, fried capers and cornichons, served with saffron potato chips. I'm not usually a salmon person, yet I loved this. The salmon was mild and delicate without the stronger flavor I sometimes associate with salmon or trout. And those saffron potato chips? Dangerous. I could happily eat a bowl of them. We also had the koobideh kabob, made with ground beef brisket and lamb shoulder with onion and saffron, served over taftoun with grilled pepper, tomato and sumac onions. Tender, juicy and packed with flavor. Wrapped in that bread, it was almost like the world's most delicious little Middle Eastern slider. By then, we were DONE. I had every intention of trying dessert, but there was simply no room. It was also getting late, and work was waiting for both of us the next morning. Next visit. Service throughout dinner was friendly and knowledgeable. This is a menu where good servers matter. Ours could explain the dishes and ingredients rather than simply take an order, and that added to the experience. Two small notes on the space. If Atlanta is doing its summertime furnace impression, I'd avoid tables near the doors leading to the patio. Every time they opened, a blast of hot air rolled through. Sit farther inside and enjoy the AC. And while I loved the Persian rug and overall design, the faux flowers and wisteria covering the entrance pergola weren't my favorite. Atlanta sun is brutal on anything artificial, and the rest of the restaurant is sophisticated enough that the entrance deserves something equally polished. Those are minor quibbles. The important part is this: Delbar is serving seriously delicious food in a beautiful setting with thoughtful service. If you're anywhere around Alpharetta or Roswell, make the detour. This place is not to be missed. Life is too short not to eat well. Get out there and find your next meal! Sorry, no photos;(

It's from 3-6pm Monday through Thursday (I believe). They have $6-8 cocktails and a variety of food in the $5-10 range. The food was all fantastic, as was our waiter. He constantly checked on us, kept the complimentary bread supplied, and gave great recs for both food and cocktails. I love a waiter who explains the menu so you know what you're getting into beforehand. As we were leaving, it was torrentially down-pouring and the host was so kind to let me borrow his umbrella to get to my car. It's rare to find this level of hospitality these days and it made my already great experience here even better.

Spots I would rather recommend for a nice night out are Delbar, Rumi's, and Yalda. My friends and I tried the Muhammara Dip, the Feta Cheese Rolls (reminiscent of spanakopita but no spinach and in roll form), the Truva Dumplings, and the Iskender Kebab. The Iskender Kebab and the Muhammara were the best of the bunch, but overall I think I was expecting more punch from the spices and greater nuance in the flavors of each dish. The thing I honestly enjoyed most was the complimentary bread and sun-dried tomato dip, which has gotten a number of shoutouts of Yelp already. I would come back to this spot to get a handful of appetizers, eat that bread, and hang out for a few hours. It does seem like the restaurant needs more staffing. Everyone we saw was very kind, but it took a long time to get a server's attention whenever we needed something.
