Made appointment last week for dazzle dry mani pedi, I arrived 10 minutes ahead of time to choose colors. The girl started the pedicure then another employee came over while I was in pedicure chair and started doing my nails! Totally ruined any chance of relaxing as one was working on my hand and the other was working on my feet! Couldn't even turn on the massage chair due to them both working at the same time. No parifin, treatment, no massage. $75 + a $15 tip for a terrible experience. (I shouldn't have tipped 20% considering the service) unfortunately I won't go back. Too bad, this used to be such a nice salon. Also it was freezing in there. And to add 1 more the dazzle dry started peeling off my fingernails after 1 day. It usually lasts up to 2 weeks. read more

I went there for a regular pedi and dip mani because my regular girl at Hollistic Nail Art is on maternity leave. It was cold in the shop. The pedicure was ok. However, another woman did my manicure. And 1 week later it chipped on 2 fingers. She filed the dip down until it looked like a gel manicure. By filing it down so much it also made the color look white/faded around the edges. The paraffin wax felt good. It costed a whopping $100. I will never go back. A dip manicure can last 3-4 weeks without chipping. Obviously not at Diva Nail & Day Spa. The polish selection could use improvement as there weren't a lot to chose from and the place is absent of a range of color options. Once she filled in for an absent employee and was quite rough; when I yelped at a sudden painful jab, she had a total meltdown. I'm not surprised that the more recent reviews are bad. I went to Diva for about 15 years along with family members, but we are all DONE with this place, as are all of my friends (except one) who went for years. Just as examples, one friend left because of the pricing, and another left because she (a good tipper btw) was told her tip wasn't good enough (I see another reviewer posted about that). I have noted the decline over the years, the service can be rushed, they stopped the routine hand wax dips, and they upcharge too much. One day I brought in my own nail polish, which makes it easier for me to do touch-ups at home. It's Dazzle Dry (a polish they charge extra for), so while I expected no discount for bringing my own polish, I was disappointed that they still charged me the $20 Dazzle Dry premium for a mani/pedi. The explanation was that they still used the Dazzle Dry undercoat and top coat. I said that seemed very unfair, especially since they had to provide ZERO nail polish. When I asked about this and noted my longevity, the owner (via the nail professional) begrudgingly reduced it to $10. Pretty lame, again since they incurred ZERO cost for nail polish, and we all know how little is used for the bottom/top coats (and the price difference between the regular and the Dazzle Dry is not much). I gave the nail gal an excellent tip (she was very nice) and politely said this would be my last visit. So now I'm reminded that there are MANY, MANY nail salons in this area, including those that have nicer facilities, friendly/welcoming management and lower prices. Hadn't been to Diva's in four years since I moved from MA to CO and I was in town for a wedding. Was so excited to get my nails done for the event and knew I could count on Diva's. It is always cozy, clean and they pay attention to detail. But upset because my lady cut my cuticle really bad it hurt for a few days. She was apologetic but she kept being somewhat rough even after the fact. She tried to stop the bleeding a couple times which indicated a deep cut. My advice is to let them know to be gentle when cutting or to not even touch the cuticle if it doesn't need to be cut. read more

This place is awful! If you're getting a regular classic manicure they will rush through your service. I'm assuming it's because you're not spending as much as someone else who is getting a gel one. My manicurist rushed through my manicure and it looked awful! He didn't even wait for my nail polish to dry before applying the top coat! You could clearly see the nail color running to the bottom of the nail and streaking as he was applying the top coat, but he did not care. Not to mention when you pay using a card, they say "just $ (however much the service is" I find this a bit rude and awkward for the customer. They should definitely find a better way of asking this. However the reason I am giving them a 1 star review is that my nails looked awful hours after leaving the salon! If you are looking to have the new powder dip polish put on your nails do not, I repeat do not go to DIVA NAILS on Adams Street in Newton. There is only one woman there that can do it, and she really does not do a good job at all. They have a very, very limited choice of colors of powder. Also the clear liquid that they put on your nails before they dip them in the powder is usually very thin. The product that she used on my nails today was very thick and goopy and as a result my nails are very thick they are very bumpy and uneven. She really didn't know much about the removal process of the product on my nails when I walked in. Painful process to remove it because she refused to let the soaking process take long enough. They just look really bad and it cost me $45 for this. My usual salon is closed on Sunday and I had no choice today - one day to get my nails done. I feel like I just threw my money away though, I am going to have to go have them redone at my usual place as soon as I can. read more

Never ever will I go here again.. I asked for a acrylic fill and picked my color. When I sat down I asked how much for a fill and she said $40 and my initial response was that's a bit much for a fill. She then said it included the cost of the gel color. I told her I didn't want gel and asked how much it was with the normal polish and she kept insisting it was the same....whatever. It was one of those moments you knew you weren't going to win and they just wanted to upcharge you and make money so I said ok. Then she starts to do my nails. She put gel fill (not polish) over my 2 week old brand new acrylic set. I couldn't understand her when I tried to ask her what she was doing and she seemed super irritated with me for questioning her. But she wasn't using acrylic. She said it was the same. This entire time I have no idea what she's doing but she's not giving me an acrylic fill and up charging me... I couldn't wait to get out of there. Then it was time to pay. they prefer cash or check.. so I wrote a check and asked who to make it out to and she said write cash. What? I refused and wanted to write in the name of the business as it should on the check. She was SUPER irritated with me. I was SO happy to leave. She made everything uncomfortable. Fast forward to 36 hours later and one of my nails just pops off.... so reluctantly I return to take them up on their 2 week guarantee. When I get there I talk to the manager and tell her I'm confused as to what she did but I wanted an acrylic fill. She sits me down WITH THE SAME WOMAN from before. She now in better English explains to me THEY DON'T EVEN DO ACRYLIC! She will fix my one nail only. When I walked in and asked for an acrylic fill the first answer should have been we don't do that here (what nail place doesn't do acrylic). Instead, she pretended she couldn't understand me, gave me something I didn't ask for an up-charged me. Oh and after that nail got fixed... it popped off again 2 days later. I ve been going to divas for years . Always friendly . So I went yesterday to get my nails and toes done and I felt a strange feeling like I wasnt welcomed . So dazzle nail is more money but worth it. Pedi was ok not a good massage she seemed rushed . So a lady made an appt so after my pedi she left me and I was told by grace that she made an appt. So I finally got to my nails . No fingers soaking In water . He removed the samples on my left hand but never cleaned my right hand . Right now I felt like I was not wanted there . I want to give this place a better review because I had such a good experience last time but the experience this time has really left me quite shaken. It was close to closing time when I called but they said they could stay open longer. They clearly didn't consult the guy who was going to be doing my nails because be was less than thrilled that I was coming in close to the end of the day. And to top it off, I had existing gel nail polish on. So instead of letting the gel nail polish soak in acetone as long as it needs to safely come off my nail, he starts aggressively scraping and filing it off and completely destroys my nails in the process. I actually started crying when I saw the end result. And not in a princess "omg I broke a nail" kind of way. But as in it's not just a matter of cutting them down and fixing them, I have to literally grow half my nail back. So insanely disappointed. This place is outrageously priced. I received a gift certificate for a mani-pedi, and upon walking through the door I knew it would be an unpleasant experience. I had made the appointment in advance, and when I arrived I was given MAYBE a minute to choose a color and was rushed and told to come sit down. The water for the pedicure was freezing and when she asked me if I wanted her to adjust the temperature, I said yes; she ignored me and walked away. When it finally came time to pay, a woman who I assume to be the owner or manager insisted that I wasn't tipping enough and actually asked for me to put a larger tip on my debit card. The best pedicure I've ever had!! I've had many and this one blows all others away..and all for $30! My winter feet needed some love. Even though I'm not wearing open toe shoes lately, I wanted some pampering on a winter day. I wasn't about to go to a sweatshop place to be rushed in and out. I yelped good places to go and Diva was a standout. The reviews live up the the reputation. The service was extremely thorough with little extras here and there like hot stones, warm oil heel wrap, entire leg scrub, ending with a very good massage and even another neck/back massage at the dryers. $30 for about a full hour of treatment that is worth every dollar. While the salon is not very tranquil with all the business, its clean and modern with newer chairs, hardwood floors and extra touches like keurig coffee, a huge polish selection and lots of candy to eat. It's not a huge place either yet they make it all work. The girls that work there are ultra sweet. None of that chatty crap while they stare you down like other salons. I wish it were closer to the city. Will certainly return! The place was jamming on a Saturday. You will definitely need an appointment if going on the weekend. While the prices are slightly more then other salons, you will get a full work through in your service, they really pack the punch into the deal. read more

First off, I'd like to point out that I've reviewed Diva Nail & Spa once or twice before and loved them each time I've went. This review isn't really about the quality of the mani/pedi, but of the service. I was in a wedding this past September, which was up in Vermont on a Saturday. I'm an RN and had to work Thursday 7am-7pm, and then take a bus up to Vermont on Friday (my husband was meeting me up there later with the car, I had to be up earlier for the rehearsal dinner, etc). Anyway, I had to get my nails done on Wednesday for the wedding 3 days later. I went to Diva Nails, and granted, I should have looked at the price first, asked for a gel french mani pedi. I did this because as a nurse, I use my hands and fingernails all day long, and a normal manicure NEVER lasts as it always chips. Seeing as I had to make it last a few days, I chose the gel. Everything was the normal Diva Nails experience, nothing mind blowing, and it took a while, but I was ok with that. When I went to pay, it came to $120!!!!! I was NOT expecting that. I didn't think I had that much money in my personal debit account, so I had to use a credit card. I didn't even really have the right amount of cash to give a proper tip, and I was so flustered at the cost that I just signed the receipt and left. Now - I tip EVERY time I go there. EVERY TIME. I brought my entire bridal party there for my wedding in July, that's how much I love the place. But I could just not believe the price... and like I said, it's my own fault for not looking at the cost first, but we all have our faults :) Anyway, I went out to my car and was sitting in the parking lot looking up an address for the next place I had to go. I had a 6:30 appointment for a mani/pedi yesterday at this place not knowing they were closing at 7. I felt bad not knowing this prior booking and didn't want to keep them after hours so I asked for just a manicure instead; plus I didn't want to feel rush during what should be a relaxing experience. They were nice enough to take me for both and I didn't feel rushed at all (but it could be because they had a party that came in at 7). My pedicure was ok, I think the lady who worked on me was Kelly, she was nice. I had someone else worked on my nails and I didn't very much like the experience. I wished I had known her name but unfortunately I don't. It was an overall bad experience with her. She spoke little English that's all I know. For the price, I would say the included paraffin and hot stone in the pedicure, the paraffin and massage for the manicure was worth it. The quality was not that great in my opinion, speaking as a licensed nail technician. The polish on my pedicure came out decent, the manicure however was horrendous. Yes I could have done my own nails, but once in a while I would like to pamper myself too! I understand that an Essie color is hard to paint, but if you're a nail technician, you should have mastered the technique of applying the polish. I'm not sure how there are so many good reviews and 5 stars for Diva. I personally think everyone gets caught up in the paraffin wax and 30 second back massage. The actual manicures are TERRIBLE and each time I've got one there they have lasted barely 2 days without chipping. I've gone in the past but I've only go there if its my absolute last choice because Lonys doesn't have time. I went tonight and it was definitely my last time..they were rude, I waited over a half hour after my appointment time, and to top it off the women didn't cut any of my cuticles so I asked her to redo one of my fingers she was so rude and jabbed me with the clippers and cut my finger. She was also huffing and puffing and shacking her head because I was wearing a OPI shade that had sparkles and told me it was too hard to get off and had to do it myself. Since my first visit to Diva I haven't been to another nail salon. They are clean, quick, great variety of colors, and there is never a HUGE wait. They have plenty of people working. I won't go out there and say that it is the *best* pedicure I've ever had. Yes they use hot stones and wax, but really it doesn't do that much. Its more for fun than anything. Worst. Pedicure. Ever. I have never felt the need to write reviews about any place I visit but I had to write one for this place. Diva Nail & Spa had a lot of good reviews on Yelp so I decided to give it a try on my lunch break. They had a good selection of nail polish, mostly OPI and Essie. The nail techs were polite enough except for this one woman, the way she looked at you and spoke her language was obvious she was talking badly about you. The nail tech who did my pedicure didn't cut my cuticles or cleaned up at all. She just trimmed them, barely shaped them and barely buffered them. I paid $35 for something I could've done at home and probably do a better job than her. The massage was meh, she didn't use enough force and practically just lotion down my legs and that was it. This place encourages you to pay using check or cash. When I first arrived, I asked the nail tech if they took credit/debit and she said yes. I paid with my bank card and when she brought me the receipt to sign, there was no place to add tip. I was not told tip was CASH ONLY. She had to refund the first transaction and charge my card again with the tip added to it. Hopefully they didn't charge my card twice. They gave me a lot of attitude in the process. And that one girl was giving me dirty looks while she spoke in her language again. I didn't give them a hard time about the service. I just wanted it to be over quickly. Oh my goodness gracious. I've moved around a lot, tried countless nail salons and various states, and Diva Nail is by far - like - really, really far - the BEST nail salon I've ever been to. 1) Your nails come out looking great (kind of important, no?) 2) For a $15 manicure you get: 'the regular stuff' plus paraffin treatment and a *shoulder/back massage* while the paraffin sets for a few minutes. 3) Did I mention the massage? 4) The salon is extremely clean, and is inviting and cozy despite being a reasonable size. 5) The staff are all extremely friendly, and I've never had anyone do a less than great job there. It's sort of a 'family feel' (and in fact, a mother-daughter team heads up the crew!) 6)Pedicures - amazing foot/leg massage followed by a HOT STONE rub down on your calves and feet. It can get quite busy on the weekends and thursday/friday evenings, but I've never been 'snubbed' or had a sub-bar job because there was a line. I suggest either a) going on an off-time if you can or b) just setting aside enough time on the weekend where you can bring a book and relax and read while you wait. The wait has never been more than twenty minutes, and let me tell you, it's well worth it. read more

I visited Diva for the first time last week for a mani/pedi before a family event and it was AMAZING! For $45 I got a lot more than I have at other salons in the area. I kinda don't even want to write this review because I love Diva so much and I don't want the masses ruining my nail experience. I can still walk in without an appointment and get my nails done with (almost) no delay. Where to begin? Great staff-even the dude, but I usually see Kathy. Yes, they're a little bit pricier, but you are totally getting your money's worth. For $15 you get a manicure, paraffin wax treatment and shoulder/arm massage. With the pedicure you also get paraffin wax to the heels and a hot stone massage to your legs! And I have to say, the color lasts. Trust me, I'm a nurse and I'm brutal on my nails. Another plus is that it's super clean. Locals get a box with your own nail file, buffer and toe spreaders. With a pedi, they always use a new scrubber-thingy. I'm don't want some strangers nasty exfoliated leftovers. All the cuticle trimmers come right out of the steralizer. So, you should go. But don't tell your friends. read more

Ok - holy wow. I logged on searching for a good pedicure place in the area in which I'd be running some errands, and Diva seemed like a good choice based on the reviews. Yelp strikes again! This was probably the best pedicure, and overall experience, I've had....ever, even at much more expensive places. First of all, this place is CLEAN. It's bright, neat, with lots of very sweet, happy, friendly women working there. In fact, there were 12 of them while I was there! Most of them enjoying the end of their work day folding some towels and chatting, but there was one of them for every station, plus one hostessing. Well staffed, well done. It wasn't jam packed with customers, maybe 4 or 5 of us, so it was relatively quiet and peaceful - they had no muzak playing but some light, ignorable something in the background, and the TV on the Food network on mute with captions. I was treated extremely kindly by everyone, especially the woman doing my pedicure. The "this feels awesome" part of their regular pedicure, at $30, probably lasts about 20 minutes. They start with a sugar scrub for your feet and legs, then do a full leg + foot massage - probably about 5 minutes on each side. THEN they do a hot stone massage!! THEN they wrap your heels in warm lotion while they paint your toes. Lisa, my pedicurist, took extreme care with painting my nails. I noticed a woman getting a pedicure with her hands in undoubtedly warm mittens, receiving a shoulder massage and I thought to myself, "Man i should come back for one of those" Only moments later, Lisa was helping me up, unrolling my pants, moving my things (all unprompted - i did have my hands after all), and ushering me over to the drying station where she got me situated and then promptly asked me if i would like a shoulder massage. YES. OF COURSE!!!! Gaaaaah...boyfriend who? I didn't take advantage of the chocolates, twizzlers, or cofee, but ladies - it's there, and in abundance. I asked if I could put the tip on my card and the woman kindly asked me if i happened to have cash. I hadn't realized I did, but I think if I hadn't she wouldn't have minded too much. Diva is now my go-to for pedicures, and i'll definitely be back to try a manicure when I'm up to it. BETTER THAN THE BEST ! 19 stars and counting. * * * * * * + I'm a guy. That being said: I had the 2nd Pedicure of my lifetime today at Diva. It was the best $35 I've ever spent in my life. The $35 delivered not only the most fabulous pedicure but included the full time in a super deluxe leather massage chair, a paraffin wax treatment, hot rocks treatment to my legs and feet and clear polish (I went all the way) on my toes. Also included was removal of callous on heels and edges of my feet. Also included was a back and neck massage by a very well trained massage therapist. My previous pedicure at another place was $65 and was a good pedicure with none of the extras. When Ju, my pedicurist finished I was so pleased I refused to leave the chair and opted for a Reflexology treatment on my feet for an additional $40. The shop is pleasant, the people are kind, friendly, easy conversationalists and the place is VERY SPA like and NOT GIRLY, GIRLY. Easy parking on the street or there are a few lots nearby. I had made an appointment, but lots of people stopped by while I was there without appts and they all were taken care of. By the time I left it was pretty busy. So my best suggestion is to make an appointment. Better yet give your favorite girl a treat and bring her with you. Sit side by side as I did with my fav. girl........ We chatted away and compared the GOODY-NESS of it all. It was she who inspired me to go for the extra foot reflexology while she had a manicure and indulged in her own extra foot reflexology. I tried this place 3 weeks ago. The reason I waited to write the review is that I wanted to see just how long the polish would last. Seriously, I am not sure if it is because I chose a brand new bottle of polish or if this place is just that amazing but my nails still look pretty great! My nails grow very fast and I actually "outgrew" the polish before it started to chip! The price is a bit higher than your typical walk-in high volume nail place, but the neck/shoulder massage, hot stone leg massage, paraffin wax heel and hand treatment that were included in my standard mani/pedi package made it well worth it. Definitely going back. Added bonus: they have pricing for men's mani/pedi so my guy actually feels comfortable coming with me instead of staying home and complaining about how he wants his feet rubbed ;) read more

I brought my bridal party and future mother in law to have our mani/pedis done for the wedding. They pulled out all the stops for us. Hand massage, leg massage with hot stone, neck massage while your shellac nails were curing in the UV light, parrafin wax on the hands and feet, eyebrow and upper lip wax for about $140 each. They are also very good with disabled clients. My mother in law - to- be recently had a severe stroke and struggles to relax the muscles of one of her hands. They were very gentle, made her feel fully pampered and her nails came out exquisite. There is a free parking lot just to the right of the store. It is very clean, they play relaxing music, have a nice waiting area at the front door with FREE CANDY! I think I've found my regular nail salon. read more

Diva is ok- They women are accommodating .... the service is great!... "GREAT BANG FOR THE BUCK" paraffin- shoulder massage etc all for the price of a basic mani... I went on the recommendation of two friends... figuring if two separate people were telling me about this place, I must try.... You ask why the three stars? My major issue: after going there two weeks in a row - my nails became really brittle and dry .... ** also the polish was short lived- usually polish will last on my toes for a minimum of 2 weeks... not here (just about a week) Moral of the Story: I was back at my good old MiniLuxe in Newton Centre and should have never steered away--- read more
