I was so excited that this was one of the few stores in Chicago that began carrying Shiner Bock when it came to the city! and at a reasonable price too. The only thing I hate is that you have to spend over $10 to pay with a credit card which when I buy a 6 pack of Summer Ale doesn't work out, so fine...through in a small bottle of Captain Morgan...no wait...at that price might as well go up to the larger one, more worth the money. Dammit! I've been had again!! Only down sides are - this place is fully of sweaty disgusting Cubs fans on game day for hours before and after. But that's life in Wrigleyville! And the guy that works here has zero personality. None. You say 'hi, how's it going?' you barely get a grunt if anything. One time he asked me how I was doing and I about fell on the floor. The selection is unbeatable - they have an amazing assortment of wine, beer and spirits that it is almost difficult to decide. That is where the exceptional customer service comes in. I am always greeted with a hello and it's never hard to find someone if I have trouble locating a type of beverage I need. One minor complaint - I wish they did not do away with the deli and cheese counters. This was always a nice add when picking up wine or when hosting a party. I hope they bring it back at some point.

I had to pick up a last minute item at Galleria for a party. I found my item and was shocked at the final price. I started doing the math in my head. The price charged was well above the addition of sales tax (10.25%) + cook county liquor tax ( rounding up 5%) and a credit card surcharge ($0.89). I asked the old white man with gray hair and beard why the final total was so high and he said that it was because Chicago sales tax is 12.5%!!! WHAT??? That was a bold face lie!!! I returned the next day to complain to the manager and he said "why do you give a F**k about a couple of dollars"!!! The audacity!!! They are padding their pockets by baiting and switching prices at the register.

Prices are slightly higher than Binny's or a grocery store, but you're paying for convenience. Never had keg delivery service as I'm probably past the age of hosting keggers. Their prices aren't the cheapest, but that's expected since you're paying for convenience. To be honest, you only end up paying an extra $1 or $2, so it's completely worth it to me. If I just need a case of beer or something quick, it's way easier than going to Jewel. It's family owned and everyone who works in there has always been super friendly to us. Overall, this is a great place if you need booze, lottery, or just a quick pick me up. Pro tip - They do accept credit cards, but only for transactions of $7 and up. They have an ATM, but $3 fee + your bank fee. Just an FYI.
