The menu suggests wine pairing for each dish listed. It made it easy for me to order the perfect wine to go along with our meals. Thumbs up!

The wife had a friend in town and we were excited to…read morehave found a Groupon deal that catered to three patrons as opposed to the typical two, four or six. As with Groupon, you don't always know what to expect. Sometimes the photos look really nice and the actual spot is less than desirable. That certainly wasn't the case with Salt. We somewhat expected small dishes, as we got a deal for a three course menu for three for 50€. There was a choice for two of three courses. For the first course it was a choice of a goat cheese dish or a pulled pork croquette with a salad and creme pickle dressing. The wife, who doesn't really care for croquettes, went with that selection anyhow, and they turned out to be "the best croquettes" she ever had. The friend had the goat cheese and really enjoyed it as well. For the second course it was a choice of a salmon with an egg yolk and cheese foam, or a tataki beef with pumpkin puree and potato. I had the beef and it was utterly delicious. The wife and friend had the salmon and the egg yolk was a delicious and creamy surprise. For dessert it was an almond creme with poached apples and a peach ice cream. Again, we all couldn't have been happier. All in all, we were so please work Salt. Every dish was special, well presented, and delicious. I hope this place keeps being successful, as we happened to be the only customers on a Sunday afternoon. You can sit and enjoy a glass or buy a bottle to go. We decided to do both and the wines didn't disappoint. There are also meat and cheese plates available - maybe next time! We spoke briefly with one of the owners about the shop. If you eat around Antwerp, a lot of the wines will look familiar. It turns out that Belgian Wines is their supplier. I am a strong believer in eating local, so I really like that Belgian wines are being promoted in the city. Plus they're delicious! The only thing holding me back from a full 5 stars is that there was a full table when we arrived of tourists and once they left, the two waitresses spent a good 5 minutes loudly making jokes and mocking them. I mean, the bar is not so big, so my husband and I were both a bit uncomfortable. If they make fun of them, are they going to make fun of us too when we leave? That won't stop me from returning, but will make me hesitant to stay too long in the shop.

When this place opened up a few years ago, we were delighted to taste their great wines. At the time we put their frankly "rude", service down to newbie nerves. However, on our 2nd and 3rd visit we had that sinking feeling that although the location, and wine were spectacular, it really is not right to hand over hard earned cash to restaurant owners who treat their paying customers this atrociously. After a gap of almost 1 year, we arranged to meet people there last night. I can honestly say I have never experienced such rude, aggressive behavior from a restaurant in my life. I get they were tired and they wanted to close. But here's the thing; don't sell the most expensive bottle of wine to someone if you want them to leave 10 minutes later and certainly do not lean over a guest and aggressively ask if they don't like your wine as they are not drinking it fast enough. If you are from a Country where service is as important as the quality of food/drinks, then avoid this place at all costs. You might get lucky and the owners good be in a good mood if not, a visit here is likely to ruin your night in an otherwise super city.

A coffee bar is always a go-to spot for me, so when I spotted O-Cortado, I had to stop by. First impression was excellent, as I was greeted by the person at the counter. I ordered a caramel macchiato, and the gentleman brought it to my table on a beautiful tray with a napkin + cookie. Lovely. The music and decor are both awesome, too! So glad I stopped by!!
