Our DJ was the first vendor we booked for our wedding almost a year and a half in advance and we are so glad it was DJ Connection! The initial flexibility of booking and having a friend on the team (Dalton!) made the planning process so easy and fun! I love their portal where you can modify your own song timeline and add lots of songs to different playlists for your event. But mostly, we absolutely LOVED our DJ Connor and simply could not have asked for a better DJ for our wedding day. Connor was the life of the party and even let our guests know at the end of the night that certain flowers were poisonous to any cats they might have at home. I recently worked with DJ Harvey, who was not a crowd pleaser. 95% of the songs he played were not produced in this century (for a wedding for 20-something year olds) and he was a little awkward over the mic. No surprise that nobody was on the dance floor. I recommended some recent bops that got everyone dancing, but when the list ran out it was back to the 1960's for the rest of the night. If you really love music of the 1960's and want it exclusively played at your wedding, book DJ Harvey. If not, maybe look at other options. Oh, and how could I forget? He played the wrong song for the first dance. read more

Working with DJ Connection couldn't have been easier. I reached out to them for my company's Employee Picnic in August. When I first reached out (months in advance) we got all the paperwork taken care of and they told me not to worry if I don't hear from them for a while because they would be in touch to make sure they got all final details closer to the date. They have a very well planned out timeline that helps make sure you are on track, even if your event isn't for months. They weren't lying about getting back to you either. They reached out to me a few weeks before our picnic to talk through the schedule I had submitted to them on our online portal (that was another cool feature- you have your own online portal that allows you to lay out a timeline of when you want announcements made, certain songs played, etc.) to make sure our event ran as smoothly as possible. The day of our event, our DJ Chris, made everything so easy for me. Not only was he very easy-going and helped reassure me that he had everything under control, he also was very flexible to any last minute changes. He had all the equipment he needed with him including wireless microphones, which were super helpful when making announcements around the different park locations. He also got along great with our employees. If we have the ability to request a DJ again, we will definitely be requesting him. If you wonder why there are no bad reviews, its because in order to get any kind of refund for a bad experience they REQUIRE you to sign an NDA. We booked DJ Connections for my daughters wedding. The DJ not only mixed up the songs during the ceremony, but did not stay on the timeline agreed to by all vendors as well as myself and the couple. The DJ also would disappear several times throughout the night(which was why we were behind the timeline). We had to keep searching for him. One time he was gone so long that his song loop came to an end and repeated the last song 3 times. We had guests leaving early since he did not open the dance floor and we were just standing around. He was awkward, refused song requests even though he could have. The couple had to leave an hour early (8:30ish) since the bride was sick, and he had not even had them cut the cake yet. So he had them cut the cake, then immediately had the guests light sparklers for them to leave, no one had any cake until 8:45. The wedding started at 5:30. In trying to deal with his "managers" after the wedding, I felt very frustrated with the whole process. They said the whole night was recorded, but I was then told that some portions were not recorded. When offered the first partial refund I was never told I would have to sign a non disclosure agreement. So imagine my surprise when 5 hours later on a Friday night they email me said NDA. I told them I would not sign it. Then they offered me a 50% refund but still require the NDA. Needless to say, I did not sign. I would use extreme caution in doing business with them. They get one star only because I have to leave this review. read more

I never saw party guests get on the dance floor so early into an event before. Kids young and old (parent) really enjoyed his music selection. Appreciate the DJ Connection staff contacting ahead of time to prepare the best song selection, and for Tandy sharing announcements as needed. Very professional business! Their DJ was the worst part about our wedding. When we saw family this Christmas, everyone was still talking about how terrible he was. Our friends created an Instagram hashtag about him and still use it to talk about things that are embarrassingly bad. He ruined our first dance and played multiple songs that we asked him not to. And probably the worst part was that when I got back from my honeymoon and tried to contact the company, they didn't return my calls. I wish that I could say that I loved it like the other reviewers, but unfortunately when I look back on my wedding and think about our DJ, all I feel is embarrassment and regret. read more

DJ Connection is awful. They are poor communicators and do not work with integrity. I was told I would know who the wedding DJ was on the frontend, but this was not the case. I was told my bride could meet with the wedding DJ prior to the wedding, but this also was not the case. Based on their 'say one thing and do the other' mentality, I approached my bride's wedding day with no confidence in this company and requested to get the deposit back because they clearly did not do what they said they would do. They refused and we lost money hiring another DJ (who was trustworthy and did a phenomenal job!). DJ Connection has the reputation of hiring young men and women right out of high school who have little to no experience in the industry (hence their affordability). Their services might work suitably for a school dance, but I would highly not recommend hiring them for your wedding. They are a factory and business is more important than people. read more

I called them and booked them this past February just because I wanted to get all of the big stuff reserved and taken care of. They ask you all of these questions during a 30 minute phone call and take notes. Well February was a little early for me to know everything, but they assured me that I would go over everything again when we got closer to the day. September finally came and I hadn't heard anything, so I called to see when we were having this follow-up conversation and someone told me they would be calling me the week of my wedding. I was a little miffed, and I know it's personal preference, but I wanted to have everything nailed down the first two weeks of September, so I could just work on last minute stuff the week of the wedding. So they guy calls on Monday (I got married that Saturday) and I ask if he will be the DJ. He tells me "no" and I'm thinking "Really? Am I going to have to repeat this to the person who will show up on Saturday?". He tells me "no" and reassures me that he'll take good notes. I ask him if he received my Play and Do Not Play spreadsheet (the template they provided) and he starts reading songs from the wrong spreadsheet. I think they had me walking in to "Wild One" by Flo Rida, which is not even close to what I had selected. He finally found the correct spreadsheet and we started going back through the questions. He kept referring to the answers I gave in February, but my spreadsheet had some changes on it that I felt like he completely ignored. I kept telling him that he was to play ONLY the songs on the list since I had taken requests for songs on my RSVP cards. I don't think he ever really understood that part of our conversation. After repeating myself multiple times, I got off the phone and just decided I would have to talk to the DJ who showed up on Saturday. On Saturday I wasn't crazy stressed about anything or super pressed for time, but I knew I could get the things done in the time I had and could still have a little down time with the ladies in the dressing room before everything started. The DJ showed up when I was setting up the reception tables and came over and started asking me questions that I had JUST answered on Monday. Then he proceeds to ask me if we needed sound for the outdoor ceremony. I had told them from day one that we needed sound, so I'm not sure why this was even a question (it was in their notes). Not only that, but the sound kept cutting in and out during the ceremony and it sounded AWFUL. So I'm sitting here answering questions and trying to get these things done before my photographer showed up for pictures and I needed to get dressed, and was getting very frustrated. My sister picked up on this, and I got on my phone, forwarded her the spreadsheet of songs and instructions, and she went and talked to the DJ to make sure he followed everything on the list (again, the file they provided). About halfway through the reception, I start hearing songs that were definitely not on my list. My directions to them were to play EXACTLY what was on my list and to not stray from it. At this point I'm thinking, why even have a DJ??? My iPod could have done a better job and at least played the correct songs. But then I hear Apple Bottom Jeans and I just about lost it. Not only that, but the DJ kept coming over to me throughout the night to ask me questions about the schedule. The same schedule that was ON PAPER that I had gone over just five days before with another employee. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. They are completely unorganized and have a very hard time listening and following directions. I have heard similar stories and not just weddings. The DJ was upbeat and professional at our wedding, but he def did not look the part. He was a little disheveled looking. We were married at the Dresser Mansion, so we rented an extra speaker on top of the package we chose bc we wanted to make sure the music was heard throughout the venue...the extra speaker didn't do anything. Not sure if its because of the quality of their equipment or just the set up of our venue. All in all I would def choose to use them because their price is great compared to the other competitors. read more

DJ Connection does not deserve a single star. They do not live up to their contractual obligations, nor do they play the music YOU - the customer - want to hear. Don't bother providing a song list to them. They limit the number of songs you are able to request they play. At the venue, don't expect to hear the songs you requested. The timelines they use are also ineffective because their DJs don't adhere to those either. I highly recommend finding a DJ from another service provider. read more

I won a package with DJ Connections that was a cheaper package price that included 4 up-lights for free. I was a little hesitant with this company since I was unable to speak with my DJ prior to the wedding day. Let me tell you...THEY BLEW ME AWAY!!! They give you a portal to use to make selections for every moment of your big day. I was able to request songs that we were not even sure were going to be able to be played, and they were able to get every single one of them. On top of that they also have an area for songs you DO NOT want to play and they stick to it. He was a great MC and was able to keep the party going. I could not have been happier with the service I received over the phone either. I wasn't a highly needy bride but anytime I had question I was able to get answers. I used DJ Connections in Dallas for my wedding reception. It was an AWFUL experience. The dj looked like he was in high school. From the events that occured through the night, I don't think he had ever done a wedding before. There were multiple sound issues, that being the least of the problems. He played the wrong first dance song. I had to walk up to the dj booth and tell him what song to play. The most horrifying thing of all was him introducing us into the reception by the WRONG NAME!! I would not recommend DJ Connections to anyone!! I am so bummed out that he got so many things wrong! We can't ever get that time back. read more
