When the night came, a friend of Terri's- Marcus- was the DJ for my wedding. The night went well, our guests had a great time and majority of everyone danced. There was however, a few things as the bride that I was unhappy with. For example, he didn't play our correct walk in song, he didn't pronounce our name right, I had to ask him to dismiss for dinner when it was in the notes, I had to ask him to play a certain song that we had outlined in our notes to be played following the mother/son dance. I had to ask him to start the garter/bouquet toss when that's was also in the notes I gave him. There was only one slow song played the whole night. Overall the night went very well, but I felt I had to push him to keep the night rolling. After the conclusion of the wedding, Terri reached out to me asking how Marcus did. I explained all this to Terri; basically saying Marcus did well and was very professional, but there were things I was displeased with. I receive no response from Terri after this, and instead I receive paragraphs from Marcus criticizing everything I mentioned and then some. He blamed everything I mentioned back on me as well as calling me... and I quote "nitpicky". He called me rude for never offering him food or drinks throughout the night... as a bride I don't feel like I should have to think about if the DJ is catered to. He never once apologized for anything. After paying $1700 for this service, I could not be more upset over the disrespect I have received. I may have had a different outlook if Terri had been there, or at least apologetic about my concerns.

Sorry for the long post, but I wanted to share our experience!…read moreThis company offers a fantastic deal if you pay upfront--it's definitely hard to pass up. Before our wedding, we had a planning meeting with someone who wasn't actually going to be our DJ. She let us know that from the beginning, which was completely fine. We were told that DJ Kassy would be our DJ, but on our wedding day we found out it would actually be DJ Dave. We had gone over our timeline, names, songs, and all the details with DJ Hope, and unfortunately not everything made it to DJ Dave. There were a few small mistakes because of that, but none of it was his fault. We never had the chance to meet or speak with him before our wedding day, so he was walking into the event with very little information. That said, everything truly works out for a reason because we absolutely LOVED DJ Dave! He handled everything so professionally, adapted on the fly, and made our night unforgettable. We heard so many compliments from our guests throughout the evening about how amazing he was, and we couldn't agree more. My biggest suggestion is to stay on top of communication throughout the planning process to make sure everyone is on the same page. And if you're booking with this company, I highly recommend requesting DJ Dave. You won't be disappointed!

Kyle and Hope Ray provided DJ services for my wedding…read more Kyle and Hope Ray were who I spoke with while contracting the service, were reasonably communicative during planning, and provided forms for a set list. I am not sure that Kyle and Hope were the male and female DJ who actually provided the DJ services. I have been dating my wife since we were young children and music has been an important part of our lives growing up in Evansville together. We provided an intentioned set list and the DJs took it upon themselves to add featured songs to a do not play list and to otherwise deliberately avoid playing our music selections until my wife had to inform the DJs that we were disappointed and confused as to why they had not played the selected music. While they corrected from this point, it was already late into the night and roughly half of our set list went unplayed. At the end of the night I checked to make sure the DJs had been paid for their time and labor. After this interaction I expressed my disappointment with the provided service - the male DJ seemed to think I was trying to stiff him on services that I had just checked with him that I had paid him for. The male DJ very quickly became belligerent and began telling me to sue him, confused at this hostile response I corrected him that I had already paid him and was not seeking a refund, I stated that I was simply disappointed and just did not understand the foresight or intelligence of a decision to deliberately choose not to play our provided set list without telling us. The male DJ seemed to take this as a deep personal slight and began loudly proclaiming to me that he was the best DJ in the tri-state area and that he was the reason my guests stayed and enjoyed themselves and that they all left when he played my preferred music so he chose to play guest requests and wedding favorites. Many of my relatives are older or have young children and had informed me ahead of time that they'd be leaving early into my late evening to midnight reception. I'm not sure why the DJ assumed it was his role to re-curate our own music selections or that the DJ in one of the two ballrooms for the event would be a significant factor in guests' travel plans. The female DJ seemed to recognize her coworker was behaving inappropriately for our conversation and intervened to prevent him from speaking further while the male DJ visibly fumed and continued to loudly complain. The male DJ's behavior apparently alarmed one of my guests to the point that they asked our off duty police officer to watch him as the DJs collected their equipment to make sure he did not interact with either myself or my wife and to trespass him from the premises if he did. The DJs additionally arbitrarily and frequently skipped or sped up music as it was playing making it disruptive for dancers to the point that multiple guests complained to me. This DJ company fundamentally does not understand the relationship between vended services and their clients or the role of a DJ at an event. The male DJ in particular was alarming to interact with in the brief in-person exchange we had and seems to have a warped sense of importance of his contributions to someone else's wedding. No one has ever remained at a wedding due to the DJ, but DJs who make their clients happy receive tips. These DJs did not make us happy and the male DJ in particular alarmed my guests and was intensely disruptive.
