BED BUGS - Punaises de Lit - Bettwanzen !!!! 2017…read more I stayed in a 4 bed dorm. I got around 150 bites by bed bugs in the first night. The hotel did NOT treat the room nor my luggage, when I told them about the bugs in the morning, They just gave me a bed in another room for the second night (this room was surely infected too, when I moved with my infected stuff). The hotel even let another person sleep in the first infected room after they got knowledge about the bug infection. The staff told me that they had a bed bug problem since some time already and could not get rid of it. When I saw this poor hygiene standard, I had no doubt that this problem will persist. My skin got inflammed with all those bites. But the hotel manager lady did quarrel a lot about getting me and my stuff desinfected the second day. And she quarreld a lot about getting me refund and medicine from pharmacy. I had to contact the tourist office to get finally help. Besides this. The street side of the hotel was totally covered with a scaffold, so there was noise, dust and less security. During reservation nobody told me. And the wifi is only in the lobby and does NOT work with some IPhone and Android devices.

Hotel is located in the Jewish quarter, down the street from a large synagogue. Room itself was quite spacious and comfortable yet simple. Bathroom be a bit cleaner though (I'm a stickler for hotel bathrooms). Although our room was situated on the ground floor it wasn't as noisy as I expected it would be. One issue I did notice, however, was that the door didn't shut fully. We were away from all other rooms, so we didn't think this was an issue but you can clearly see it doesn't close all the way when at the outside of the door. All in all, very good value for a night's stay!

Having booked two nights here via Hostelworld, I was pleasantly surprised to find upon arrival that…read morethis is a 2* hotel, so the private room was a big step above what you'd expect from hostels, with a fully equipped kitchenette, small TV, desk, and dining table. The location is not in the exact city center, but all of the sights are barely five minutes away by tram. The desk staff was helpful with making sightseeing plans. There's a computer with free internet access in the lobby, but wifi charges are exorbitant (9.90€ per day).

Our room was down the end on the ground floor near the spa. The smell is very strong of chlorine which is not nice. It's quite busy down that end so if you forget to close both of your doors it's extremely loud early in the morning. The rooms themselves are very breathtakingly pretty with different wall papers, with the bedding to match. The bed is comfortable and you can control the heating in your room. Our room had a little balcony with tables and chairs. The bathrooms are clean but nothing at all special. The toiletry extras are pretty cheap. The location isn't great. You can't walk out and find a bar so unless you want to drink or catch a taxi to Strasbourg (45 euro ish) then you are stuck in the hotel. The bar and restaurant are ok,but again, they need an update. The bar menu is very light on in terms of Alsatian wines but there is lots of whiskey. Breakfast bar is big and plentiful and you can boil your own egg. Very good croissant if you manage to get them straight out of the oven. Staff are hit and miss and its not 'well oiled' when it comes to the restaurant floor staff. There were many, many young children.
