It's actually two DMV branches / offices combined into one: - DMV Driver Safety Office & - Occupational Licensing (local San Jose branch for Santa Clara County Branch) My review is for the Occupational Licensing. Things have taken a dive since the pandemic. The hours are strange; horrible hours...they're barely open. Good luck trying to get a hold of anyone...even when I did go there in person, nobody form the branch was present. the young beautiful at the front office by the bell was so professional along with supervisior for that office were the top of care; i did promise them 5 star review, i serviced them in pro per my medical report. they acted in a legal manner stamped with a date and forward it the main office in el segundo. i was assigned an officer:ona logan-nicks,who was a top of the line in her knowledge of my evalution as great health professional and hearing officer. she resolve my case and help me within her authority. i am promised the second stage at the dmv to take the knowledge test per the dmv laws. i am greatful and thankfull for such high class treatment of my issue. the lawyer was asking $4,000 commitment; as a senior citizen no way. my advice to you,"they are doing their job to protect the publice. you must understand that fully and abide by it. thank you all for a great job. ////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// read more

This is the quickest and most efficient dmv location I have gone to. Easy to find and lots of parking. The line didn't take very long at all. The employees were helpful and friendly. I was in and out within 30 min. This DMV does not do all services but it does handle license, is, change of address etc. read more

Rude to me about my documents too, "can you lower your voice" "stop interrupting me" when the lady was like going off and wouldn't even let me talk and explain my issue. I dared to call them out for not accepting my doctors faxes for over a month. We need a government agency to supervise the dmv. I think their employee Ana just wants to be rude to anyone who has a license suspension. No, she's just mad she had to get off her ass and do any work. Seriously grow up, my suspension is due to a medical issue NOT a dui. And if my hearing officer had my medical docs faster then I would have it cleared. Made an appointment for my son to renew his DL. We got there on time to face a very rude woman at the door checking documents making very sarcastic comments at people that didn't have the required documents. What I noticed that did bother me a lot was that she had very little patience with people with accents (immigrants) Maybe she was having a bad day, but you know..... we (taxpayers) pay for her salary. Including people with accents. If you hate your job or can't deal with people with accents, quit and move to a state with no immigrants (if you can find one) read more

This office gave me so terrible service, they were very rude and disrespectful to others at all.

Horrific customer service they took my id photo with my eyes closed and it was printed like that for years. They gave my mom and sister attitudes they were extremely rude and mean and attitude when we asked a simple question. DO NOT COME HERE STAFF IS BITCHES. Cleared my behind the wheels test at this location. The examiner was very kind, this was my 4th attempt and only with this examiner I felt slightly more confident. Reducing 1 star because my appointment was scheduled for 1:20 pm and my exam started at 1:45 pm. read more

lots of these examiners at the Santa Teresa location, along with most other DMV locations, that conduct drive tests, have chips on their shoulders, don't like they're jobs, or are just plain haters and tend to discriminate towards certain individuals. Bringing this to managements attention does not help, they tend to protect their own and circle the wagons. Ask 5 examiners the same question and you get 5 different answers. Complaints fall on deaf ears. Time to call in investigative reporters to uncover the corrupt side of the internal DMV Practices. read more

The office itself is good and good at helping out customers. However, this one driving instructor was beyond horrible. He did not even give me the time of day to show what skills I needed to show for the driving test. He literally took me in a circle and failed me. He was very arrogant and in a hurry. read more

If i could give 5 negative stars to this office i would. One of the employees was very rude to me saying i was blocking his way. My daughter and i waited an hour in line outside just to get in and this is what i get. Then after another 2 hours of wait to be accommodated another rude employee told us we lack requirements. So rude...and their employees don't even have badges to identify themselves. No system at all. Its just a pity for us citizens and taxpayers to be treated this way. read more

Made a phone appointment the other week. Came in my appointment time this morning. The process was painless. Took my exam. After I finished my test. The dmv clerk let me know if passed the exam within 10 to 15 minutes. This was the most painless dmv experience ever. The service was quick and easy. This is based on my experience. read more

This place is not located at the DMV for regular drivers. Bullet proof glass for the receptionist and an attitude to match. Had to make an appointment and still waited 10 minutes to be seen. However I was early and was seen early, which was nice. The inspector who proctored my test was very nice. After finishing my test had to wait another 20+ minutes for grading. I guess the lesson here is when dealing with the DMV, no matter what location, expect to wait. All in all I do not have to recommend this place since it is the only one in the South Bay and is mandatory you come here. read more

If there is option to give 0 star I I would give that for this place. They kept us waiting for all most 6hr 30 min. Worst of worst part is when I try to huge feedback to manager he is not even willing to listen and take feedback to improve the speed and productivity.. The sad part is they have a machine to renew car registration in some of the Safeway, but they don't have the same in DMV office, if they had one like that for sure, it might have helped some customers, this is just one improvement. read more

Wow!! I totally agree with everyone's comments. I know it's the DMV, but is the prerequisite for working at the DMV is to be an ass or have an attitude.. I know I've met some nice people at the DMV but you have to go to a particular one and you have to go a different city. Not San Jose ones, never go to San Jose ones or the el camino, or freak mont. read more

You will wait at least 3 hours in non appt line if u don't get there a hour before they open. It's absolutely insane how unorganized and SLOW they are! They are also extremely rude and not very helpful at explaining things. You can tell they hate their jobs! I would suggest going to a different location or make an appt or arrive an hour before opening! read more

incredibly incompetent imbeciles work here. these morons are scum. the guy at the front desk was playing candy crush the whole time with the volume on. i applied for some safety licensing and here are the problems 1. my application needs my middle name as an alias 2. my insurance was not up to their standards, yet my agent sent them the same thing 3. my diploma was not good enough they wanted transcripts 4. my background can only be cleared by the doj NO ONE ELSE!! and they are idiots as well 5. i had a point on my license that was a mistake 6. my business money was no good so i had to get a money order this was all processed at different times not altogether for some reason instead of telling me all at one time so i can fix them. after a month of dealing with these pieces of filth i finally had everything cleared and to boot when i finally was licensed the inspector proctor was eating and complained to me about her hours i have no idea why everyone has a severe attitude problem here they called me and cancelled 3 times for an appointment when finally everything is cleared i have to wait 120 days for my permanent license This Place is HELL!! read more

Worst. office. ever. First time I called their phone did not work. Second time I called they did not receive my fax despite it being confirmed on my end. Second fax, made sure to follow up so I called and they said it had been received. But when I called again 3 days later they said they never received the fricking fax. This has taken 2 months instead of a week and my form still hasn't been processed. This office is incompetent. read more

There's an appointment line and there is a non-appointment line, but it really doesn't even matter because there's only one person to give you a ticket to wait in another line. It switches off between nonappointment an appointment so there's absolutely no point in having an appointment because the lines are equally as long. Probably the most crowded DMV I've ever been to. Also the system went down the day I had an appointment, and instead of notifying everyone via email, they didn't. What a waste of time. There's a reason the DMV is hated, they can't figure anything out! read more
