Have used this company in the past. Called for a water leak outside my home. Technician dug the area before we signed anything or gave us a price. After doing this, he gave us 2 options. $1500 for this repair or he suggested changing out the whole supply line for en eye watering $6000.00. Checked with some Knowledgable plumbers who agreed this was over the top. After we said we did not want him to do the repair, he wanted to charge us $1200.00 for his ONE HOUR to dig. I refused to pay that and said please have a manager call. We never signed any work authorization or quote. I am willing to pay a reasonable $125-$200 per hour for a skilled tradesman. Last time they came out, they tried to get us to replace an entire mainline for a small root problem. We declined and had them jet the line which took care of the issue. They tried to scare us with their camera that goes down the mainline. It was slightly off-set but draining fine. These plumbers are on commission and looking out for themselves. Look elsewhere. I will not do business with this company again. Had I not interjected they would have taken complete advantage of my wife who is not as knowledgeable. Companies like this give many tradesmen a bad name when there are honest professionals out there. Should have checked other Yelp reviews. Pretty scathing and many others feel taken advantage of by this company. I guess they don't realize you build a more successful business leaving your customers happy feeling they got a decent deal and were treated respectfully. I spoke with Christina who said she is the manager. She did not have answers as to why Beau did not conduct business properly but offered to send a more qualified "senior technician " to our home. Why would they send a technician who is not fully qualified? He called in to his office twice while at our property. It was akin to a used car salesman going back to talk to his sales manager. When we refused to pay, he did not push back as he knew $1200 for a diagnosis (10 mins labor time) plus trip charge is not reasonable. Well the young man was friendly , what was so weird was that as soon as he walked into the door and assessed the problem . He hands me the cost of repair , which was $476. We had a club membership maintenance of our tankless water heater done 5/8. After the maintenance we had blue water in our water lines. My wife drank a glass of water to take evening pills around 9 PM and did not notice the blue water in the blue glass she used. She felt nauseous and ended up vomiting around 2 AM. We called Do it Right on 5/9 and they sent a plumber out. The assessment was that the system was not sufficiently flushed by the prior plumber. I tried calling and using chat to get an answer to what chemicals are used when they flush the tankless and as of yet have not got a response. To mess up a annual maintenance and not respond to customer concerns is not good. read more

BEWARE! Have been going back and forth with Do It Right Plumbers trying to get our money back on a deposit for work that was canceled. Pricing has been changed and they continue to give the run around and lie about what the technician did. We had them come out to inspect our home on June 16 2023. We canceled any type of proposed work on June 18th. How and why is this still not resolved and why haven't we gotten our refund. Up to now, July 25th, they state that they will not refund anything. Great experience with Do It Right Plumbers. We entrusted them in repiping the entire house and installing a new water service line which was a huge undertaking. Initially we called them to fix one of our toilets but our plumbing technician, Damian, did a "doctor's checkup" of our house and found that we had a major issue with our deteriorating galvanized pipes built in the 1970s. Damian really took his time to investigate the issues and explain to us our options / pricing and he really kept in mind our financial concerns. He even threw in some special offers to alleviate the burden! Do It Right Plumbers offer a no interest 6-12 month loan option which was handy in this major project. To install the new water service line from the the city meter to the house took less than a day. To repipe the house, it took 1 full day of a team of 4 and 1 full day to patch up the dry-wall with a team of 2. They place protective material on all the furniture to ensure there is no damage, your house will look like a scene from Breaking Bad! FYI the dry wall is finished to be paint ready. They used PEX pipes - major upgrade from our rusty galvanized pipes (see pictures). Really amazing job and super appreciate Damian for taking the lead on the project. March 3, 2025 DO NOT USE Do It Right (DIR) Plumbers READ ALL THE 1-STAR YELPS--This Company Needs to Be Out of Business! We called DIR for a service call in early December 2024 to clear a simple clogged toilet. After a big sales job, DIR charged us $2,900 claiming the sewer line need "descaling" and a new flange. Long story short, it did not work; then DIR said we needed to re-pipe from the toilet to the main drain and put in a clean out for an additional $6,000 which we declined. At the end, DIR said "we will give you a free power flush toilet because that is your real problem." The Supervisor said, "If you take the power flush toilet you will never see us again." We accepted DIRs offer for the free toilet, even though it is so loud it sounds like a public restroom toilet. You guessed it--the free power flush did not work either and now we are stuck with it! We gave up on DIR and ended up contacting Roto Rooter; they snaked the drain and resolved the problem at a fraction of the cost. Basic plumbing... After multiple requests to honor their advertised "100% Satisfaction or its 100% Free" website guarantee, they finally honored the full refund when we were prepared to go to the California State Licensing Board (CSLB). They initially claimed the website guarantee was just a "slogan" and not intended to be a guarantee, we planned to allege fraud and false advertising. Once we were at the point of filing a formal complaint, they finally gave us a full refund. Their business plan is to quote services at a high price and then add on from there. CAUTION: Beware of Megan ("Customer Service Manager"), she will lie and make up false claims to muddy the waters and hope you give up and go away. The owner "Edan B." will never be seen or heard but nothing will happen unless you are filing a formal CSLB complaint. Edan B. has learned how to keep from getting cited by CSLB by only giving refunds just before formal complaints are filed against his company. Make sure to do your research and avoid DIR Plumbing. I believe they took advantage of our situation. I had my tenant hire a plumber of their choice. I leave it up to you to judge. $300 to snake a drain. Earlier this year, I paid only $75 to do the same, a different plumber quoted to do it for $100. I DO NOT recommend this company. At the very least shop around to get an idea how much service should cost. More details: invoice included a bunch of services they did not do, like camera down the pipes. Shady business practices. I paid less than $300 (including parts!) to get a water heater installed a few months back by a different plumber, which I believe typically costs more than unclogging a drain. All this said, I'm sure their service quality was fine. Edit: We called out another plumbing company. They actually took the time to properly diagnose the problem as a bad thermocouple. What a concept. We opted to replace the whole pilot assembly and the repair was $200 ($80 for the part and 1 hour of labor at $120). If Do It Right had any shame at all they'd refund the $129 they charged (for doing basically nothing!!!) without question, but we'll probably end up disputing the charge. My advice for those looking for a reputable plumbing company is to just look elsewhere. I don't usually do reviews, positive or negative, but I gotta say that I could not be less impressed by this company. My grandson and his roommate (we'll call him "A") were having problems keeping the pilot light lit on the water heater at the house they rent from us, so I told them to call a plumber and I'd deduct the charge from their already minimal rent being as we weren't available to deal with it ourselves. So A randomly calls these guys and they send a plumber out. Now A is supposedly told that there wouldn't be a call out charge but I don't know precisely what was said so, you know, whatever. Anyway, the guy Do It Right sent out re lit the pilot, called it good, and charged $129 for doing so! I'm told that troubleshooting otherwise consisted of looking into the combustion chamber (presumably through the pilot light inspection port and without disassembling anything, since it didn't look to me like the cover had been disturbed at all). Now, charging $129 to teach two relatively unworldly young men how to light a pilot light (even though the instructions for doing so are literally on a sticker affixed to the tank) wouldn't be so bad IF it had been the fix to keep the pilot lit and IF I didn't learn subsequently that Do It Right's standard call out fee is around $50. Then $129 starts to sound like a complete ripoff!!! So, like I previously said, lighting the pilot light was not the fix we were looking for and the next morning the pilot light was out again. And once again the morning after that. By the third day the pilot light wouldn't light at all and that's when I started to become a little indignant. A call into Do It Right to complain on a Saturday between Christmas and New Year found only the answering service available and, since it wasn't a complete emergency, I told them it would be OK for a callback on the first business day in the New Year (Tuesday the 2nd). To their credit (and probably the only positive interaction with this company) I got a callback from Do It Right first thing on Tuesday morning and they were able to find me a slot between 12 and 4pm for someone else to take a look at it. Except he never showed. And I got a call just after 4pm to let me know that not only would he not be coming but they weren't able to reschedule anything until Thursday the 4th. Obviously, I told them to forget it and that we'd find someone else. Oh, and let me also share that the only options offered beyond the $129 fee for lighting the pilot light were complete replacement of the tank with a standard 40 gallon tank for $3200 and a tankless unit for $7500. So you're telling me that aside from the fact that this clown was unwilling to troubleshoot for any other options to keep this tank going, he expected us to pay more than $2k in labor for a tank that probably has a trade price in the $600-900 range. I had a driver in one of their work vans try to cut me off when the lane merged and I did not let him in because there was no one behind me but he wanted to speed up and get in front of me. Great company to get things done the right way. Today we had Thristan come into our home because our bathroom sink was clogged real bad. They do free estimates at your place, so that's great. He came in, looked at our sink problem, asked a few questions and he started working. Great guy, friendly and very knowledgeable. He worked fast and was very clean. We didn't even get out of the gate with these guys. They kept us on the hook for half the day, telling us they would squeeze the appointment in. We did not call anyone else out of courtesy to them. Lo and behold, however, they called us late afternoon to say they couldn't make it until tomorrow!! How many people do you know are willing to deal with a toilet that won't flush one more day?? It just seemed rude. But here is the thing. After calling another plumber (who showed up as promised), they discovered a tree root growing in the pipe. This is not a small job. Do it right plumbers has a very disgruntled employee named Francis who answers phones and does the scheduling. This week I called " do it right plumbers " To place a service call. When speaking to Francis she was very abrasive and combative, she wasn't easy to work with and sadly sounded very bitter over the phone. She sounded like she didn't want to take the call or book the business for the company. But since I needed a plumber I booked the appointment anyway. While speaking to her exhaling my situation she kept interrupting me and cutting me off, literally not allowing me to speak. Finally I told her it sounded like she didn't want to take on a customer service call and maybe I should go to another pluming service company. She rudely cut me off again and set the appointment begrudgingly. About 2 hour later the customer service manager named Gladis told me they didn't want my business and I should go find another plumber,she called at the end of the day and I told her I had already planned to have them check out the plumbing the next morning. Gladys was very loud and very angry. This whole time I'm thinking wow, if only the owners of the company knew how bad this customer service team was they would be sadly disappointed. I asked Gladis why all of a sudden after already booking my appointment with Francis would she now call me to tell me they don't want my business? What changed ? What happened?? I thought to my self I bet Francis realized she was rude on the phone and probably was spooked when I told her that her demeanor and combative tone could possibly result in a poor yelp review. And sure enough that was it, I told Gladis I didn't understand. But ok. So I called another plumbing company who gladly took care of my plumbing need ( mind you this was supposed to be repeat business for them, I had already paid them $500 for a job that Was 1/2 baked 2 weeks ago) . Then I placed a one start yelp review on the " do it right plumbing" yelp page. Mind you I am a business owner and when I had spoken to Francis I gave her my business name and address as well as my first and last name. Out of Spite and revenge and bitterness Francis turns around and placed a one star ambiguous fake and false 1 star yelp review on my business yelp page. She made it totally obvious it was her placing a review. she used a fake name or had a friend or coworker or relative place the fake yelp review under the name " Brittany". In the review she was very ambitious and just said " there is a lady there who is rude " any one who has a ever owned a business knows that true and legit customer complaints placed on yelp are very descriptive, they describe what day and time they visited the business and they describe exactly what they didn't like. That's the whole point of the review. On top of that the we the owners aren't there physically, so we knew it was 100% a lie. Which proves her yelps review is false. She claimed to meet the owner which isn't possible again they just simply aren't there. That was the evidence. You can't say you met someone at a certain location when the person is never there. Period. Francis is a real crazy person. Because when she used the "Brittany" account she didn't remember that the first yelp review " Brittany" placed was a 5 star review for " Do It Right Plumbing " and raved and raved about Francis. Making it very obvious that was a fake review. Why ? Because Francis works for " do it right plumbers. Francis had " Brittany" post a 5 star review about her. And "Brittany" also placed a negative review for Francis on our business yelp page. The fact is Francis never was a customer at our business and placed the fake yelp review out of spite anger bitterness is ludicrous . Francis was reading the replies sent to the " Brittany S" yelp account and then sends me a direct message saying " I am not Brittany, I am Francis and I have my own google and yelp account . Right there Francis admitted she used "Brittany's " account and proved it was her behind the fake and false yelp review. How ridiculous. Then Brittany posted to our business account a copy of the direct messages. Still denying she was not Francis which is a bunch of lies. Why else would " Brittany" post those direct messages? If Brittany was not Francis then she wouldn't care about a perfect stranger right ?? Right. But she does care so she posted them. Here they are for you to see. The whole thing is sad and unfortunate. Yelps should be for paying customers, it should not be a place where fake yelp reviews are placed out of spite because YOU are mad YOU got a bad yelp review. And that is exactly what Francis and Gladis are doing. I hope the owners read this and realize how bad their customer service employees are, this is beyond bad customer service it is straight Libel. The guy said he did me a favor and turned the valve so the water would stop running and then turned around and told me I had to pay $250 because he did "manual labor". He could've just told me to I need to turn the knob and not have "done me a favor" that cost me an extra $200. I asked for an assessment, not to be tricked into paying $250 for him to do a favor and turn a knob I could have turned while also telling me there's nothing he can do to fix our water softener. Very poor, they installed a water softner that worked for a couple of months. After three attempts to fix it they were not able to. Clearly it is a defective unit. After four months of waiting for a response from them and requesting it to be removed they refused. Note: I had to contact them before they finally returned my call. They did offer me a replacement unit I choose not to chance it again. If it happens once it could happen again. they have lost my trust to stand behind the products they sell. I have been a customer of Do It Right Plumbers (DIR) since 2017. I have always given them high marks up until now. On Sunday my kitchen sink backed up, and as it turns out I was putting wrong things such as eggs, pasta, and fibrous foods down the garbage disposal which eventually blocked my pipes. DIR came out on Monday to diagnose. I already had an appointment for other work this Friday, so when DIR came out on Monday to diagnose the blockage, they said they would handle that on Tuesday along with my original punch list for this Friday. On Tuesday, they came out to jet my pipes, and while jetting them, they said I had fractures in my pipes and wanted me to approve anywhere from $5000 to $12000 immediately to seal them with epoxy, stating that if they had to come out at a later date, even a few days later, they would have to charge me for the jetting all over again (about $2500). That made no sense to me, as there isn't that much that will accumulate over the next few days, and if they're coming out to seal the pipes why wouldn't that include cleaning them also? Moreover, the representative noticed I drive a very expensive EV and said since I drive that expensive EV then I certainly can afford the epoxy job. WRONG. First, I shouldn't be pressured to spend that type of money without multiple quotes. Second, even though I can easily afford the work, what I drive is immaterial to that fact and it was highly inappropriate and unprofessional. Third, as it turned out, there were NO fractures but simply where my pipes had connections/turns. My pipes are now fine and the jetting itself was great. I'm not sure I will be using DIR Plumbers moving forward. I am highly disappointed. They also missed an item on my original punch list due to poor communication, and only said after the fact they couldn't perform that item anyway. read more

If I agree to let them fix it, I will pay $200 for diagnosing, plus parts and labor. However, they still charged $49 for coming, even though they didn't even touch anything. read more

My experience with Do it Right Plumbers has been great. We ended up with a slab leak that was diagnosed by another plumber. They gave me a bid to fix it and I wanted to compare price with some other plumbers. I gave Do It Right a call and they came out next day and gave me a competitive bid. They also threw in replacing two old gate valves at no extra charge. Dakota showed up ready to work during this Covid 19 situation, with sanitize wipes, a mask, disposable gloves and boot covers. He was extremely professional, worked extremely clean and was very good at communicating what he was doing throughout the process. He was able to minimize the amount of drywall to only 2 interior holes and did not break the cut piece so that I can use it to patch the hole. They continued to charge me $9/month in spite of 1)I called them and made sure to clarify that we NEVER signed up for a plumbing membership with them and immediately wanted it cancelled and 2) I disputed it with my bank twice. This company charges TOO MUCH!! for the work that they did for us. We were told we had multiple gas leaks in our property n we needed to have it fixed before gas company turns gas back on ! Christian went to our property n gave us a quote for $35,000 for gas repipe for 2 homes duplex 60 feet repipe between the 2 homes without excavating or trenching which is less work I would think . The plumbers he sent which was probably subcontracted because the people that came to our place didn't even have the logo of their company nor they didn't appear like workers for "do it right plumbers " we were expecting professional plumbers that worked for this company but the workers looked like the people u would find from Home Depot .. that's wen we started to think we got fooled with the price !!! But by this time we were stuck with the contract. The job was finished in 9 hours same day but we were initially told it was going to be a Big job that will require possibly up to 3 days . I am updating this review as two stars because the Technitian was proved wrong. He wasted us $289 for his misdiagnose of the problem. I am leaving two stars just for the office people who are very professional. The reason our Urinal stinks so badly is that the draining pipe has been leaking. Dirty stuff came outside the pipe and made a greenish build up. The room smells horrible. I did point out the build up to the technitian and asked him to replace the pipe if it is a leak but he insisted there was no leak because he flushed but there was no water coming out. He charged us $289 only to poured some liquid down and flushed with hot water. The smell came back the 2nd day. Now we have suffered too much and hired another plumber. He came in and immediately told me there was a leak on the pipe. He said it is so small and slow leak, you don't even know it but you can see the green buildups. That is a leak. That great plumber charged us only $220 and fixed the smell issue. Avoid this company! read more

Loosing your hot water is no fun. Cold showers, no dishwashing or laundry and the list goes on. Thank Heaven for Do-It-Right Plumbing. Eric and Ali their new recruit, arrived at the appointed time and after a brief analysis of my issue had the repair done in less than an hour. They found the perfect work around to having to replace or repair my Rheem 40 gallon WH, and have to wait days for parts to do so. So much appreciated when you find yourself in this predicament, that someone is there to help. Too many plumbers would seize the opportunity to rack up charges in this situation, but these guys were more than fair. The customer service experience was great from the first call to Megan to settling the invoice. The charge was very reasonable to take care of everything. Would absolutely call upon Do-It-Right again. Five stars all the way. read more

Main service line broke and Do It Right was able to get a technician, Ryan, out the same day. Very professional and the price was good especially for an emergency situation. We have water we are glad!! read more
