My husband shared it with him but is on the fence of if he'd get it again. He said depends on his mood next time. So definitely get it for the kid, toss up on whether Brandon will share it with him. Both kids loved the French fries. I got the smashed burger, which was delicious, with a side of fries for them which they devoured and wanted more. So next time we should get two sides of fries. My oldest son got the noodles with marinara. He ate a little, but not a ton so we still don't have a winner there. My dad got the ribs and liked it. I found the slaw to have too much dressing so that wouldn't be a top choice for me. We always like coming here, so I still recommend it. Doc B's is a nice find in Tampa, particularly if you are in town the night before an early morning flight. It's near the airport hotels, and we had a great meal and experience. They have a lovely patio; it was a little chilly, so we opted for indoor dining. The interior is welcoming and warm. The menu is very elevated bar food and favorites -- crispy chicken sandwiches; creative burgers; very nice salads; good appetizers. Our server, Zoe, was just lovely, and helpful. Bonus for those with gluten allergies -- nearly everything on their menu is gluten free, including the fries. Woohoo! We started with the grilled California artichoke hearts, which were tender and smoky. Excellent. My husband had the buttermilk fried chicken, which he said was absolutely delicious -- he was mad he couldn't finish it all, and kept picking! I had the Wright chicken sandwich, which was also crispy and delicious, and I was all too happy to be able to have a few french fries! Was at international plaza today and stopped into Doc B's for lunch. Pleasantly surprised on how good it was. Wife got a cheeseburger and it was cooked to a perfect medium. I got the oven roasted wings. They were excellent. Not a crispy wing but delish nevertheless. Basically a roasted wing tossed in a Chimichurri sauce with grated cheese on top. So after a Saturday of shopping we decided to tryout Doc B's. The decor nothing spectacular looks just like any typical diner. The see through windows so you can see the kitchen staff working pretty cool. As far as the food no seasoning no taste, it seems they use all these sauces to cover up the lack of seasoning in there meats. I had the fried chicken which had 5lbs of batter but no flavor, my wife had a wok out bowl the broth saved the dish because again no seasoning. The traditional burger lacked seasoning as well. Overall if you're into non seasoning or flavors then this is your spot to be in. Coming from a family that uses seasoning (healthy options) we know what flavor should taste like not use sauces as an excuse to not add any flavor. This is definitely off my radar when visiting International Mall. I've seen so many establishment come and go. This place may have another 2 years in them. read more

Doc B's is one of those places that just gets it--great food, great service, and a vibe that makes you want to hang out a little longer. We sat on the patio, and it was so cute. Comfortable, relaxed, and perfect for brunch--definitely added to the overall experience. We ordered the cinnamon roll pancake, and when I say it's humongous, I mean it. It was big enough to split between four people, and it was still more than enough. Fluffy, warm, and completely indulgent, topped with syrup and icing that pushed it straight into dessert-for-breakfast territory. For my entrée, I got the chimichurri flank steak with breakfast potatoes and two eggs, and it did not disappoint. The steak was super tender and paired perfectly with the chimichurri. The sauce was fresh, vibrant, and very herby--full of flavor without overpowering the dish. The breakfast potatoes were crispy and satisfying, and the eggs rounded everything out nicely. Overall solid food with excellent flavors this is my favorite restaurant for anything easy and delicious. My go to lately has been the California salad with added salmon. That salad is one of my tops from any restaurant I have been to, there are so many little good things in it. Also the fried chicken is amazing as it's all dark meat. The steak sandwich is also fantastic as it's an actual piece of steak. For appetizers the candied bacon is incredible but has a little bit if you're not good with spicy. Th guacamole with sweet potato chips are incredible too. Really you can't go wrong with anything. They have a beautiful covered outdoor patio when the weather is nice. I was impressed with their guacamole appetizer, it was very tasty and came with house made sweet potato chips which were delicious and I liked that they were not your classic tortilla chips. Seeking out their vegan options, I really appreciate that they have tofu. I got the wok bowl with brown rice and tofu. It was pretty good, but I got it a couple years back and I feel like I remember liking it more last time. Went for dinner with my 90 year old dad who wanted a good burger. Nice ambiance, greeting peeps were nice, got a table on the patio which was nice too. Then came Brandon (or Brendan not sure) as our server. Terrible attitude, he looked annoyed and was not welcoming or helpful at all. Ordered the smash burger and wedge burger cooked medium. Came out well done. With all that attitude he didn't bother to check how our food was. Asked for ketchup for the fries and more attitude. In 45 minutes he checked on us 1 time and the place was empty! I wonder why. The only time he was nice was when we had to pay the check. Terrible service and not so great food. This is a fun, kid-friendly place to eat a sit-down meal at International Plaza. My mother-in-law wanted a meal with vegetables. My kids wanted typical American fast casual food. I also needed a dog-friendly place because my mother-in-law had her service dog but didn't want to eat outdoors. We made reservations on OpenTable. Our table was ready when we arrived. Service was very friendly. We started with drinks and the guacamole. That guacamole was absolutely delicious. It's $18, but the amount of guacamole was immense. I liked my paloma, and the kids loved their Shirley Temples. My husband complained that his beer wasn't cold enough. For my main, I had the chicken kabob (no rice, extra cucumber salad). My husband got a burger. My son got a crispy chicken sandwich. My daughter got the chicken tenders and fries. (Note: there's no printed kids menu, but they will list what they can make the kids, and they do have non-fried options like grilled chicken or pasta with red sauce.) The food was fine. My chicken was okay for what it was (definitely needed the dipping sauce for flavor and moisture), and I thought the cucumber salad was a little underseasoned. I tried my daughter's food, and the chicken was nicely crispy, and the fries were good. My husband thought his burger was only okay. My in-laws both ate all their food. The seats were comfortable, the noise level was better than expected. I liked that the bathroom set up, and the bathrooms seemed clean. Anyway, when I got the quinoa bowl, I wasn't expecting the whole bowl to be tossed with a sweet sauce since our server only mentioned the vegetables that came with it. Nowhere did the menu describe the bowl as being sweet (and it was VERY sweet). I was so disappointed because I was excited to have a healthy meal full of veggies. I didn't even mention that the egg yolk wasn't fully cooked even though I asked for it to be since I'm pregnant. When I told our server, she immediately comped it and brought a menu so that I could order something else, but I just ended up eating the other half of my husband's breakfast sandwich which was pretty tasty. It was maybe overly salted and sauced, but still tasted good. The smashed potatoes in comparison had little to no seasoning, but it was a welcome contrast to the salty sandwich, and the soft texture on them was enjoyable. Something random to note, I liked that there was a salt shaker, pepper mill, and hot sauce at each table. They have booths and many people had kids with them. Spacious and comfortable. Menus is very large, you can get many different things. I don't leave public reviews lightly, but this experience was uncomfortable enough that I feel it needs to be shared. From the moment I arrived, the atmosphere felt unwelcoming. I felt stared at in a way that made the experience awkward. When I asked simple questions about the chicken noodle soup, the responses from our server felt dismissive and condescending. After that interaction, she walked to the back area, spoke with other staff while looking in my direction, and later stood near the service area looking over with what appeared to be a smirk. Whether intentional or not, it created the strong impression that I was being discussed or mocked. When she returned to the table with water, the same smirk remained. At that point, I felt so uncomfortable that I stood up and left immediately with my sister. I have never walked out of a restaurant before, and I have never felt that unwelcome in a dining establishment. As I was leaving, the server said a sarcastic "thank you," without asking if there was an issue or if there was anything that could be done to improve the situation. I simply expect professionalism and basic courtesy when dining out. Unfortunately, that was not my experience here. I hope management reviews this matter seriously and addresses the guest service standards at this location. read more

Made reservations for our group of 11 and love the atmosphere, service and food! I started with an espresso martini and it was excellent! Every single one of our party of 11 LOVED their meals. We found out that Monday is their all day happy hour so we ordered CK Robert Mondavi Sauvignon blanc to drink. They were $8 a glass. The happy hour consists of drink specials, no food. I ordered the shaved brussel sprouts salad with a side of grilled chicken. I was worried it wouldn't be enough so had asked for extra brussel spouts, but my friends who order this all the time, told me it was plenty. I was weary, but decided that they knew what they're talking about as they order this all the time. I liked my dressing on the side, and felt like I needed more than just the one sauce cup worth for my whole salad. I recommend two at the very minimum. The salad was amazing, the grill chicken was a bit smaller than I had anticipated, but overall the salad was very filling. I couldn't even finish it, which was a surprise to me. I will definitely order this salad again but will try the protein my friends ordered- the almond and cheese crusted chicken. It's a great place to come for dinner, especially on a Monday. read more

I went to Doc B's with some coworkers on Friday (2-21-25). We had been here before and have always liked the vibe of this place. When you walk in there is a bar area in the middle of the restaurant with a long table next to it. We thought it was part of the bar seating, so we sat down. After about ten minutes we asked the server in the area if we could see some menus. She told us that the table was not in her section but she would talk to the hostess about serving us. The hostess approached the table and told us that we couldn't sit there because the table was not part of the bar and they were on a 1 hour wait for tables. Remember we had already been sitting there for 10 minutes. We moved our group to the bar and ordered some drinks. About 20-30 minutes went by and no one had been sat at long table. A member of our group asked the manager (I assume she was the manager, because she was who the hostess deferred us to) if we could move back to the table since it appeared the wait was over. The manager initially said no and was still insisting they were super busy and may need the table for other guest. After a few minutes of protest she allowed use to sit at the table, but at this point our spirits had been dampened. We decided to stay and order some food. Our server Lacey got our night back on track with a bright personality and great service. All in all they have great drinks and good food. It's just unfortunate that this manager couldn't manage to see that sitting us at that table would not have had an impact on her dwindling wait list. She did come over to our table to make sure we were 'okay', but at this point what was done took away any credibility she may have had with our group. read more
