There's a big, beautiful well behaved dog sitting in his own bed in the office next to him with the door shut. He saw me, didn't move, and wasn't even phased. My kind of office. I highly recommend.

I never post reviews, but I'm sharing this so others can make informed decisions…read more I hired this firm for an uncontested divorce. My experience involved repeated clerical errors, poor communication, and a lack of accountability when concerns were raised. I completed my requested paperwork promptly, but some documents were not reviewed for months and became outdated, creating additional work for me. Several items were handled at the last possible moment within court deadlines, which created unnecessary stress and confusion for me. I noticed several errors which caused me to question the care and attention my case was getting. Among the issues: documents filed with the court included my first name misspelled, the judgment was returned by the court for correction twice, and my prior last name was not restored in the final judgment despite me raising that issue during the case. After finding these and other issues, I reached out directly and requested an opportunity to review my concerns with the attorney. I was told in writing that a meeting was not necessary and that the errors were considered "alleged." I have copies of all work completed. That was when I chose to share my experience publicly. I understand legal matters can be complex, but accuracy and communication are an expectation of customers.

Update: I received…read moreMarizen's private message and her request to edit or remove my review--this request was notably left off her public comment as noted in the screenshot attached. Since the 2 stars (which equates to the "[service] could've been better") were due to the unprofessionalism and inattentiveness shown (not due to her being an LDA), I have no reason to change my rating or delete my review. TL;DR: Marizen is NOT a lawyer. She is a Legal Document Assistant that cannot provide you with legal advice. She is a significantly affordable option for a Living Trust but she is unprofessional and has poor attention to detail-- key characteristics that are paramount to detailing an important document. Details: I left a Living Trust inquiry via her site and Marizen emailed me back within 1 day to "text" her back for a scheduled over-the-phone consult. Upon speaking with Marizen it was clear she did not take the time to review the few questions I had sent her in my initial inquiry as she was confused as to what the consult would primarily be regarding. Her rates were significantly less than what other competing services were offering which raised an orange flag for me. Upon further research, I realized Marizen was NOT a lawyer, but rather a "Legal Document Assistant (LDA)." According to the CA Attorney General, LDAs cannot give legal advice. This was my first encounter with an LDA, which allowed me the opportunity to do the necessary research to make a more educated investment. Had Marizen gotten back to me with the necessary next steps and questionnaire as she had promised (it's been over 1.5 weeks), I may have considered her as a possible option to complete my Living Trust needs. But if you are looking for a more affordable option, perhaps Marizen is a good fit for you.

I was at a lost when I found out I had to review my father's Will. The quantity of language, coupled with ambiguous words made it difficult to decipher. To make matters worst, I didn't know what to do, or who to turn to? I found Jack online, and I figured I might as well message him. He called me within the hour, and talked to me about my situation. He wasn't about the money, but more about the service. And he gave me a fee I could work with. The next day I sent the document to him via email. He was able to decipher it within an hour, and ADD language that I never even knew existed. The best part? He answered all my questions. Now, I can rest every night knowing that the Will was written properly. I thanked Jack for all his hard work. I am going to recommend him to all my friend's and family, and of course I will be going through him in the future to hopefully set up a Trust. Thanks Jack. You made more than a client, but a friend. Your friend, Joseph

He offered his services, but I had already consulted with a different attorney and got all my questions answered. He apologized again and said if I ever needed anything again, to please don't hesitate to call and ask to speak to him directly. He was very sincere and pleasant to deal with and I would highly recommend him to anyone.
