I have used Dog Wash Depot a few times now. We initially washed 3 dogs in the self service (groupon). It is set up well and in fact gave us more than I expected. I was impressed with using the dremel with a sand bit to grind down the dogs nails after clipping. No more bloody scratches! We also brought in a long hair doxie for a puppy cut grooming. It was done well and I will continue to have it done through the summer. Finally we brought in a larger dog who has fear issues and they handled her perfectly. The type of handling that only comes with experience. The shop may be new and yes, there are a few growing pains (aesthetically the shop is cold and kennel feeling & scheduling early on did get a little sketchy) but all I care about is the health, care and well being of my dogs. I do not worry when I am there. I have met everyone of the groomers and I truly trust them. They have not given me a reason not to. I truly expect to be able to give Dog Wash Depot 5 stars in the coming year as they find their stride going into their 2nd year of business. As for the negative feedback about scheduling and kenneling. Let's be level headed shall we..? A mistake in scheduling was made. Frustrating yes but not a reason to filet a business that the reviewer admittedly said, she was treated very nicely at. In addition, part of grooming means that sometimes a dog is kenneled comfortably for a short periods of time. As if you have never put your dog "away" yourself. So then is the issue b/c it's a kennel? Perhaps one should instead use a mobile groomer that comes to the home, it sounds more the speed for a nervous mom. read more

I can't say enough good things about the wonderful treatment and expert care my Brady received from Dog Wash Depot! Brady is a large dog with an aversion to crates, so it's been difficult to find a groomer to accommodate us without breaking the bank. Express appointments at the big box pet stores get pretty pricy. When I found out Dog Wash Depot uses stalls ideas of crates, I figured we'd give them a shot and when I saw there was a groupon, I grabbed one up quick! The online scheduling system was relatively easy to navigate, but led me to believe we had an appointment. When we arrived the morning of our "appointment" we found out it was more of a sign-up for the morning rather than an appointment (typical of most groomers). I was s little disappointed, but the staff assured me that Brady would be in good hands as they led him to his stall. They let me know approximately when they'd be calling for me to come back and pick him up. Pretty close to the time I was quoted, they called to tell me he was ready. When I went back to pick him up, I hardly recognized him! He was gorgeous! If you want to see a major transition, check out his pictures on their website! The thing that struck me the most about Dog Wash Depot was how happy all the dogs seemed. You can tell that the staff truly has a heart for animals. Brady didn't want to leave. OMG! Thank you! My dog has people issues...he does not like them. This makes getting him groomed impossible. I have a brand new bathroom, giving him a bath there is not happinin. I found out about Dog Wash Depot from an employee at my bank (of all places). It was great the girls worked with me to bring my baby in when it was quiet, they had our room set up before we got there, we walked in the door, in to our room and proceeded to take a tubby. They gave me everything, shampoo, conditioner, face wash, a brush, comb, towels and a doggie blow dryer. They didn't bug us or try to talk to my dog cause they understood about his "issues" but were there when I needed them. We will be going about once a month (long haired auto shop dog YUK). I am hoping he will get accustom to being there and may be SOMEDAY he can be groomed :). On my way home I called my sister, she has 2 dogs. One of her dogs gets groomed and one she bathes her self. She will be going to Dog Wash Depot now. read more

What a great place! The two girls who run this operation do a awesome job with the grooming! I used to go to a place prior to this one and I could hardly tell that my dog was ever groomed, when my dog comes back from here, she is clean, she is happier, and she is beautiful! I have recommended so many people to this place and they all LOVE going here and are repeat "offenders"...meaning they love going back. Their staff are so pleasant and caring about the animals and they know their customers and their "clients" needs. They also have a program, after 5 grooms the sixth one is free and they are true to their word, and their free groom isn't a half fast job, it is as if you paid for that free groom! I will never go to another groomer again. I have not used their self wash service, but I have heard from others that it is awesome. I am so glad that they came up with this great idea and were able to put this in motion and open up this shop. Keep up the fabulous work!! read more

I am very happy with their service. It's obvious that everyone there loves dogs. I first went to them last fall with my old goldendoodle for their self wash. He was lame and too heavy for me to lift but they picked him up and got him back down in an individual "kennel/bath" setup, and provided me with all I needed to wash and dry him. At that time I discussed his physical limitations with them and had planned to bring him back early spring for clipping. They were willing to work patiently with a large dog who couldn't stand for long periods of time. Sadly he died of cancer in January. I started using their full service grooming with my new pup. Because he was an anxious rescue they let me stay with him the first time and since then he's very happy to go. They also offer an express service for a nominal fee which I greatly appreciate. Finally their excellent services are very reasonably priced. Highly recommend. read more

Staff there is amazing! We've been going since they opened. Today I came in to bathe my parent's dog myself since I didn't think it was fair to ask anyone else. He had an abscess burst and his back was covered in dried blood and puss. (Vet gave him the go ahead to be bathed.) Liz is very knowledgeable and showed me how to get the dried blood out by soaking it in Dawn (vet said it would have to be shaved). She completely brushed him out and blow dried him for me even though I only asked for the self grooming. Everyone there that I've encountered seems to genuinely love dogs. They treat Toby so well that he always runs in, even though he hates being groomed. (He always thinks he can say hi and then leave without being groomed.) It's scary to leave your dog with other people, especially knowing that your dog will be scared and defensive. But I feel very comfortable leaving him with this crew read more

This was my 1st visit to Dog Wash Depot and the 1st bath for my 5 month old GSD. He had previously played in the creek running through Village Park and a kiddie wading pool but he was very resistant to getting wet for his first bath. But this worked out well once he was soaked. Dog Depot supplied all of the bath supplies including a spiffy waterproof apron for me. Megan and Lizzy Turansky were very friendly and helpful in explaining the setup and how to best get the job done. Their Ewing location is convenient for me from Lawrenceville. I walked in with Nico around 1:30pm on a Friday afternoon without an appointment and experienced no waiting. The regular price for a DIY bath is reasonable but I caught a special they were running, which knocked a few dollars off the price. Overall it was a very positive experience. I was very pleased with the service- the girls were great, informative, friendly and obvious dog lovers- I noticed real respect for my dog, and her temperament! I have a Shiba Inu and she has had some bad experiences so I have not had her groomed for a long time. This year her winter coat was coming out FOREVER and I have been vacuuming everyday to keep up, and that's not even enough since her hair is coming out in clumps. The house and dog were a mess! I took a chance after hearing positive feedback about Dog Wash Depot from our vet who recommended going there since you can groom your dog yourself, and they had a great way to remove all that bottom coat. I really wanted the pros to do it, though, and they did a fantastic job, without trauma! My dog left happy, and looking beautiful. read more

Took my dog there to get her nails clipped. They were fantastic. My dog was secured with two harnesses, which I know is normal and makes sense to keep the dog from jumping off the table. One individual held and "sweet talked" her and bribed her with a pretzel while another individual clipped her nails. The food didn't work; she figured it out it was a bribe and ignored it, so he held her securely but gently (I was right there - all was good). They clearly love dogs. I will definitely go back. We also got her teeth brushed since we were there. She needs a bath and we would have gotten one but it's supposed to rain through tomorrow so she's going to be a muddy mess anyway. In short - I highly recommend Dog Wash Depot. Couldn't have been happier with the service. read more

We always took our girl to Petsmart but with the recent deaths at the dog grooming at various Petsmart stores I was very reluctant to bring my dog back there. We took our dog to Dog Wash Depot this morning and bathed her ourselves. The staff there is super nice and helpful. Everything you need to give your dog a good bath is supplied for you. They helped us get her up and down from the bath area. They dremelled her nails for us. We we paid less then half of what we would have paid if we taken her someplace else. She is a medium size dog so it was a fair amount of work to bathe her and dry her but it only took about an hour. We plan on continuing to bathe her ourselves as long as Dog Wash Depot is still around. read more

Took my dog to DWD for his first full grooming, which is a wash, cut, nail trimming, ear cleaning. He had been washed before by other groomers and was not happy with the experience. I delayed taking him for a full grooming, but he needed his hair cut badly. I went to check on him midway through and, to my surprise, he was not barking or putting up a fuss like he does when at the previous groomers. When I picked him up, he was excited to see me, but was not desperate to leave. The BEST part was that he looked gorgeous. They did an awesome job with his cut. Two weeks later, I still can't keep my hands off his soft fur, which I never knew existed under his stringy mop of hair. read more

Once I found out my regular mobile groomer was out of business and after finding a Groupon, I decided to get my babies groomed. The place was clean, quiet, and the staff (Lizzy, who I met) was friendly, meticulous, and knowledgable. Once finished my little boy looked like a proper poodle. I think the prices are more comfortable than other groomers based on what others tell me they pay for grooming. While my boy didn't smell particularly perfumy, he was meticulously trimmed and clean enough to eat off. He did not appear traumatized and he looked great. My husband has since taken his dog (cocker spaniel) and I have spread the word to everyone I see with a dog. read more

I brought my dog in for a self wash and dry just 1/2 hr before closing, but they made me feel welcome and set us up i a wash stall. She checked the temperature of the water and provided a big bottle of shampoo, conditioner, tearless face shampoo, ear cleaner and cotton balls. I was given towels to dry off my dog and we started drying with the dog dryer, and one of the girls even helped me out. She even held my dog's head while I timmed her ears. Overall a very positive experience, much better than bathing my dog in the tub at home with dog hair cleanup and better than getting soaked while bathing in the yard with the hose! This place is great! My dog Bella is a little difficult to groom and they had no problems with her and gave her a great cut! I have had some horrible experiences with Bella ,from having fingers shoved down her throat to being screamed at -therefore she has gotten out of the habit of going which even makes it worse when she does go. I had a great groomer at petco a long time ago who Bella got used to and then she left and since then I haven't found anyone until I found Pet Wash Depot!! I am so excited that I can now bring her somewhere where she was as happy when she left as she was when she arrived! I will definitely use them on a continuous basis! read more

We tried out the self wash option today and had a great experience. Mel got us situated and made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. She made sure we remembered to use the no tears shampoo near Skyy's eyes and gave options for the body shampoo. She was great and could not have been more helpful. Liz and Megan were both grooming while we were there and clearly love what they are doing. The dogs were calm and it seemed clear that this is a group of true dog lovers. We will definitely be back and Skyy will be in for grooming too. We highly recommend this place. read more

We only have good things to say about Dog Wash Depot. Our puppy is looked after and cleaned so well. We love seeing our puppy so relaxed and so fresh looking when we pick him up. The staff are very knowledgeable in medical issues as well, so we had excellent advice regarding our puppies allergy issues. And it is because the staff cares so much they have taken the time to help us and recommend the right Vets and treatments for our puppies. We are really grateful to them. I took my Maxwell to be washed and groomed. Max is scared of everything and I was kind of hesitant to leave him there since it was his first time. When I went to pick him up, not only did they do an AWESOME job grooming him, he was actually laying down, calm as could be!! I will definitely be taking him back there to be groomed!! By the way, I took Maxwell to Petsmart last year. They cut his toenails too short _ they were bleeding, chopped his hair up AND he broke out in a horrible rash. read more

Meghan who used to be the owner of Dog Wash Depot until very recently. She was the best in every way. She was always well mannered, accommodating and so generous with her "bonus" visit cards. My neighbor and I took our doodles to her for years. Doodles are hard to groom, yet Meghan always made sure that they were comfortable, looked excellent and happy every time the job was finished. Her staff was most friendly and warm. We miss her so much and we will follow her wherever she goes. read more

This place is great. My dog hates water and stands in the washing station looking miserable throughout her bath, but the staff does everything they can to make her more comfortable and get her out as quickly as possible. We usually use the self-wash option, but have done grooming in the past. The price is competitive, the staff is great with people and animals, and my dog always leaves with clean, soft, sweet-smelling, conditioned fur and trimmed nails that don't scratch. read more
