I have been going to Doggie Spa for about a year. My cocker spaniel is always scared to go in, happy to leave. This last visit was the last visit. They shaved my cocker. Removed her beautiful skirting, shaved her wavy fur on her ears. Scabs on ears from clippers slips. When I asked Jamie why? No answer. When dropped off the old lady at front desk, does not relay what is asked to be done to groomer in back room. Breed cut. I was told by manager that I always get shave on my cocker. NEVER! Talk about tainting a relationship. I had an emergency and missed one appointment after going there for two years, and have never missed. When I called to reschedule and apologize for the miss, the owner totally flipped the script on me and was extremely rude and sour about the miss. My poor baby. I should've known from the start that the genuine-looking smiles were a lie. A really good lie. These people fool you. They just have really superb marketing/business techniques. We've been here three times. The first couple of times went okay. But it was the third visit, the second eye hair trim. It was this time when my baby saw the lady and immediately backed away in fear of her. But we thought, 'it'd be okay...we've been here before...they're nice.' She took him to the back, and within seconds, and I mean SECONDS, they finished 'trimming' the hair around his eyes. When they opened the gate, he SPRINTED towards me and underneath my legs. Um, red flag? What'd they do to him? His heart was pounding out of his chest hundred miles an hour. I first and foremost care about the safety of my baby, but the service was terrible. We looked at his eyes and they didn't use a trimmer as they did the first time. They used an electric razor. If they did a good job and didn't get so close to his skin and his sensitive eyes to where they could cut him, then electric razor no biggie. But they're dishonest and careless and impatient. They don't care about your babies. They shaved the hair so close to his skin that they could've ended up cutting his skin, or even worse, his eyes. He's even in pain in those areas!! I should've been more wary of the red flags. My poor baby. read more

I purchased a Groupon and left a voicemail to schedule an appointment per Groupon instructions and also inquired how much extra it would be for a haircut which I was absolutely willing to pay since my little floof needed one. However when the owner called me back she had a nasty condescending attitude and stated " you left a voicemail when we were closed and you should've called before you purchased the Groupon". Took my bull dog into get a bath today. When I dropped her off I told them that she need her folds cleaned. When I got home and checked her her folds and rear ended were filthy. I called and let them know specifically she was not cleaned as requested. I was told " I am not calling you a liar but I watched the groomer clean her". I think I'm really picky when it comes to groomers so, take that into consideration when you read this. I have a 35 lb medium golden doodle he was not easy to cut. I have a few issues: the last time I took him, they told me he's not a medium dog and so they want to charge me more, they cut off his long eyelashes on one eye only and left them very long on the other eye. (I hope they grow back) his hair is uneven and patchy and even though I've taken him there are a number of times, they don't keep a record of what they've done in the past very well so I have to explain what I want each and every time. They never seem to get the cut done the same way twice. Even if I have one little part that I like, I can't get that duplicated. If I complain, they say, "today we have a really good groomer working" but it's the same thing every time. Update 8/2/17 :I tried to give this place a second chance after they cut all of my dogs eyelashes off on one eye only last time. Today when I picked him up he had a cut under his left eye. Nobody told me about either incident: eyelashes or a cut. When i called there they accused me of hurting my own dog and claimed that they would've told me if they would've hurt him. To quote the manager "it wasn't on their watch". The manager was rude and doesn't care about repeat customers. Don't take your dog there if you care about his safety and well-being. I'm disappointed that I have to make a yelp review I have been coming to doggy spas for over 6 years never had a problem until today. I dropped my dog off and picked her up and notice on her ears she had razor burns from the clippers on both her ears more so on the left. She got done in an hour and feel the groomer rushed through with her and the groomers rushing probably caused her to get the razor burns.like I said before I never had an issue with them but walking Into the salon isn't the same of how it use to be the customer service use to be excellent now it feels like I'm bothering the employees by walking in and making an appointment the lady was rude. Doggie Spa is an excellent place to get my dog Kandi groomed. The employees are extremely knowledgeable and always friendly. My vet is very impressed with the way Debbie baths her as she has a skin condition that requires special attention. I am always informed of anything that needs my attention when I pick her up. Kandi loves going there. The receptionist Amanda is always pleasant and makes sure Kandi has her next appointment on the books. I cannot say enough about Doggie Spa. I'm very disappointed with the grooming service received here. I took my dog there and they had him for 5 plus hours mind you. When I got him back his hair cut looked like a rush job. There was hair still falling off of him when I picked him up, plus, he had lots of nicks and cuts all over his face and body. He looked like he went to a doggy concentration camp! When this was brought to the attention of the staff, the girl in charge was very defensive and argumentative trying to deny this could have ever happened. It made me so mad! My dog was miserable when I picked him up and took him home. We have taken our dog to many groomers and never have we received such poor Customer Service, lack of ownership and an overall crappy job. I found this scab on my puppy 2 days after being groomed. #1 They deeply cut my dog (an inch long) #2 They didn't even bother to tell me! Also they charged me early for the subscription I had for weekly baths, they realized the mistake and canceled it yet failed to make me aware. Instead I got a call from my bank about possible fraud. I took lunch at work to go pick my dog up and turns out they hadn't even washed him yet! So I took my lunch to pick him up when he wasn't even ready! They confused him with another dog. I can't believe what just happened & shocked when I picked up Mowgli who recently became the victim of the most epic hairdresser mishaps ever! How could The groomer make this mistake when I specifically left instructions for them NOT to cut her hair. She had Beautiful fur. A Bombay Cat! I dropped of My Cat Mowgli in the morning at 10:30 AM at Doggie Spa! She was done in an hour! I went to pick her up, the blonde girl came outside to drop her off ( don't know her name) She said we are not going to charge you for this one because accidentally we got 2 Cats mixed up & cut Mowgli's hair instead. She showed no remorse whatsoever. Very very unprofessional! I will never never go back! She had beautiful Fur & now it could take up to 6 months to grow back possibly! Horrific Horrific experience! Mowgli seems a bit traumatized! After we came home, I called Doggie Spa right away since I couldn't go inside due to COVID-19. Left a VM. Haven't heard from them. My wife took the time to specify how to trim our dog, but the woman that groomed our dog failed to read the notes correctly and the ruined his lovely hair. She trimmed him down shorter than we requested and shaped his hair wrong. Later after a closer look, I noticed small nixes on his paws and belly. The service was much better this go around and my small dog was finished with his bath in 2 hours which I think is good timing could have done without the interrogation. I used to love coming here so much. When I moved to irvine from corona I would still keep coming here. Now I feel like I every time I come I have to pay more and more. In the recent time I went we were told our dog would be done in 3 hours. We called to see if she was ready and no one picked up the phone, I called maybe 4x and on Yelp they said it was closed. I drove down and they said 30 more minutes as she would be done. I then left and came back 30min later and she sti was not ready. It took a total of 4 hours to get my dog ready and to top it off we were waiting in the car and from our rear view mirror the girl walking our dog dropped her leash and we were lucky our dog ran straight towards my fiancé.
