I'm a very protective dog mom so sending him to a place I trust is key. I've taken a couple of my dogs here for day care and for boarding and feel very comfortable leaving them in good hands. I left my dogs here for boarding a couple of weeks ago and was surprised with a framed photo/certificate of my dogs first sleepover. It was a fun surprise that went straight on my wall when I got home. The staff are knowledgeable and I've never had any problems. My pup loves Dogtopia! The other review here make no sense to me. The staff love dogs and are incredibly caring. My dog has been coming to this location for two years, 2-3 days a week plus boarding, and 2 years at another location in phoenix. He is always excited when he realizes he's heading to daycare. They have rules for a reason to protect the other dogs and the staff- which I appreciate. We had one minor incident where another dog scratched mine and the staff immediately handled it, notified me, and the other dog got a warning. That's to be expected in an open play environment and my dog was fine. They also let me know any additional training needs they think my dog needs. They know the dogs and customers by name and treat the dogs like their own family. We're thrilled. read more

Took my pug mix for a meet and greet in anticipation of needing boarding services in December. The staff were extremely nice and loving towards my dog. I was able to watch on webcam for my dogs entire stay, minus their nap time when the cameras are turned off (not sure why that's necessary). In observing on the live camera feed there were no alarming incidents and the staff member in the room seemed to be caring, attentive and effective at managing the room. When I went to pick up my dog the lobby area smelled so strongly of urine that it was overwhelming. This particular business does not have an outdoor area for the dogs so they are confined to the large communal indoor room, including sleeping in that same room for naps and overnight stays. That part is concerning when thinking about potential illnesses. When observing the webcam, I observed my dog urinating onto one of the crates. The tray for the bottom of the crate was on top so it was not sprayed. However, the urine was still on the floor under the crate. Staff member did not notice the dog urinating into that empty crate. He can't be everywhere at all times so that's understandable. But it made me wonder how often those crates are moved and the floor under them cleaned so the pets are not breathing in those fumes while sleeping. They do have a ventilation system to try and manage this but the strong urine smell when I came back in the afternoon suggests it may not be as effective as intended. In the end, I decided to find someone to watch my pet at our home for our upcoming week long trip. Again, staff were amazing and very friendly to my wonderful dog and myself. read more

Faith is unstable and a very angry girl. Ben the owner is not much better. I went in on Saturday because of overcharges which went on consistently. Faith was by herself acting Manager, and I told her I was leaving paperwork showing inconsistent charges. I trust you guys and know that you will correct those that apply. Faith said No stay ad we will go over them. During the course of this conversation, she began getting angry because I kept questioning her logic. One thing led to another, and she stood up and said, "Leave get out". This is not the first time she has talked down to me when I questioned the charges. Another Manager told her to correct the over charge. Faith immediately contacted Ben and the Lord only knows what she told him. I made an attempt to contact Ben, the owner who said he was on vacation and would review the paperwork on Tuesday So today I went to drop of my pup and was told I could not enter the premises and that I was banned. I asked for an explanation, but Ben refused to provide details, so I asked for written as to why I was banned. Still refused to answer. Not only did then ban me from the business but blocked my number with my dog inside. I contacted the Police for an escort to allow me to get my dog. In the past I have brought to their attention about the size of the dogs in once room 20 or more and only 1 person to oversee them, poop not being picked up, my pup being placed in the kennel for long periods of time via their web cam, I've heard a female yelling at the dogs and was told it was the dogs (Really I may be old but I am not stupid, another time a female in the doggie room grabbed my pup by the face and shook it, I immediately called but there was no manager onsite according to Nate at the front desk! It seems they were set on getting me out. To me Faith is an angry disrespectful and seems to know it all. Several times, I told Ben look at the camera tape from Saturday to no avail. He made the decision that Faith used her influence or whatever she did to get Ben o ban me. Sadly, my poor baby paid the price. Cameras do not lie but Faith did, and Ben believed her. My pup is now enrolled at the Canine Country Club and her first day was awesome and the young lady at the front desk was extremely gracious and did not get angry with my many questions and did not have me thrown out. Anyone who takes their pups to Dogtopia please listen to your gut if you feel something is not right becasue after you leave and after the camera is turned off who knows what your babies endure at their mercy. I am not saying don't take your babies there just pay very close attention to your baby and question any behavior not in align with your baby/babies. read more

Cannot recommend this business enough! With our recent adoption of Bear, we searched around to try to find the right place for day care. We were so impressed with co-owners Oscar and Kim. From the very first call, they were so professional, caring and clearly take pride in their business and love what they do in taking care of our furry friends. Positives: + They are very transparent; they will take you on a full tour of the facilities, even showing behind the scenes staff rooms, cleaning chemical brands they use (all pet and earth friendly), and you can watch your pup all day on the webcams. + Responsive, fast communication; they always answer the phone quickly, have a knowledgable staff member at the front desk, and can answer all your questions promptly. And as a new pet owner, we had a LOT of questions. Kim and Oscar especially were patient, understanding and always helpful! + The app; the Dogtopia app is a great resource for communicating, paying online and viewing webcams during the day. I love that they have an easy to use app. It just makes sense in 2020 to have all the info at your fingertips. + Quick service; we loved the fact that they are a one stop shop. We can even just pull up front and someone can come out to the car to pick up our pup. We love that we can book dog spa services like washing, nail trimming and tooth brushing. All while he's already at daycare. Our pup came back smelling clean and looking good (and totally exhausted from a day of play)! + Hours; we love that we can drop Bear off before work and pick him up long after (usually around 6:30pm). My schedule for work is not always predictable, so it gives me a peace of mind to know that the hours are broad and I can get there without rushing. + Our dog loves it; the staff show lots of affection and from the first day were ready to help our dog make friends, monitor for any potential problems with play, and encourage good social development. Our pup comes home every day totally exhausted and sleeps almost the entire next day! Negatives: I am having the hardest time thinking of any. I will update should anything come up, but for now, its all good! We've been coming for a month now and it has been a lifesaver for us as busy professionals. Worth every penny! We started taking our dogs when they first opened. One of our dogs knew where we were going when I would take them about once a week. When we turned on the street to go to Dogtopia he would get so excited he would cry all the way. They couldn't wait to go. Heard and saw a larger man with short dark brown hair yelling very loudly at a dog. I was across the parking lot near the Burger King which is relatively far away and could hear him clearly. As I drove by the glass front, I couldn't see the guy, and all the dogs were staring at a corner looking pretty scared. When I moved to Albuquerque, one of my biggest concerns was "where would I board my dog?" I had boarded him at the same place for the first seven years of his life, and I felt really guilty about taking him away from his doggy friends and the staff he knew, but when I took him too Dogtopia, all my guilt was washed away. The staff is wonderful and welcoming, and my dog absolutely loves it at Dogtopia. He continues to eat throughout his stay (something he was not always good about at his previous boarding situation), and they have the cameras which allow me to check in on him. I'm pretty sure he doesn't care about that, but it puts my mind at ease. They have been incredibly helpful as I have made my move from NC to Albuquerque, and I can't thank them enough. read more

I absolutely love this place. I have taken my pit bull there several times and have even boarded him for a weekend. First of all I'm glad they are not dog prejudiced. Second they staff there is so friendly and understanding. Most important I feel that my dog is safe there. Most of the day they are in an open play area with other dogs and they get to play all day. My dog is so wiped out from playing with his pup friends when he comes home. I wouldn't take him anywhere else. Highly recommend checking them out. I had the worst experience with Dogtopia. I set up an appointment and let them know I'd be bringing my dog at 8 AM. I arrived with all his shot records and neuter information.I completely changed my plans in the morning to get him there. They ended up telling me that they couldn't take my dog cause there was no Bordatella shot. Now, I can completely understand that they need this shot but I asked for the main manager to call me back who was completely rude and then tried to turn it around on me for bringing my dog at 8 am instead of 730 and throwing off her staff, like it was my fault. It was a very unprofessional and bizarre way to treat a first time customer. I would steer clear from this place. read more
