Our standard order includes steamed dumplings which are ALWAYS amazing, do not miss. I will get a nice spicy Tom Yum soup, maybe some spring rolls to match. Nam Tok is a must every order. We usually round out with an order of chicken drunken noodles, some chicken green curry, the house pad Thai is rather good, the standard pad Thai is amazing as you would expect. Some other favorites are duck rolls. Red yellow and Penang curry are all excellent. So yeah, order in or stop by and enjoy the delicious bar offerings which are phenomenal. Dok Khao is probably my favorite restaurant in Merriweather. They're consistently great. I have noticed that prices have gone up since last year, which is understandable due to inflation, but they haven't lowered the quality of the food at all. My go-to order is their pad Thai and kapaw fried rice. Their pineapple fried rice is also really good, along with their curry. The tom yum and spring rolls are great appetizers, too. The healthy roll was fresh with crisp veggies and a peanut sauce. The papaya salad which is my go-to had a good balance of tangy, sweet, and spicy flavors. The rangoons were heavy on the cheese and I could barely taste the crab. HOWEVER, my duck basil was SO good. My spice tolerance is high so I recommend less for whoever doesn't like/tolerate spice. Seems like folks here enjoy their time inside the restaurant. We ordered various dishes from their Tom Yum, lamb curry, crab curry, steam dumplings, duck roll and pad Thai. The Tom Yum soup is a combination of spicy and sour. Good for a cold day. Their duck roll was delicious and big enough to share with another person. The steam dumplings appears to look more like a shumai and was okay. Nothing too special. The lamb curry was good, but a bit too sweet. The crab curry was really good and savory. I visited Dok Khao Thai during their cherry blossom pop-up and was genuinely impressed! As soon as you walk in, you can instantly see how beautifully decorated the restaurant was for spring. There were cherry blossoms everywhere, it was so aesthetic and perfect for pictures! I tried several items from the seasonal spring menu, including the crispy golden bags, Phuket chili crab, yellow curry platter, lamb curry noodles (khao soi), and beef noodle soup. I loved how flavorful each dish was. The khao soi was my absolute favorite and a dish I HIGHLY recommend! The lamb was incredibly tender and paired with the curry noodles? Overall, my experience was okay--our server disappeared halfway through our meal so we were waiting an extra hour tryin to request the receipt from other servers which was a whole ordeal. The seats are fairly cramped, so you'll be pretty close to your neighbor, especially if you go for early lunch (like we did) as it gets PACKED. The place is nicely decorated and apparently they change decor based on the seasons which is cute. Food-wise, our starters/appetizers were better than the main dishes. So flavorful and cooked perfectly! I can't remember the exact names of what I ordered but one items was a samosa of sorts, and the other were their sweet and spicy wings. The entree I ordered was the crabmeat fried rice with shrimp, it wasn't really seasoned so it tasted fairly bland. I had a lot of leftovers, so I brought it home to refresh with a few seasonings and added some sweet Asian chili sauce and it tasted AMAZING. I have been hearing great things about this place, and my esthetician raved about it. So we stopped in after our spa day at The Pearl for lunch and everything was absolutely delicious and flavorful. When I say this particular Saturday was packed, it was packed. We just sat at the bar and I am glad we did. Our bartender was really nice and attentive. We both started with the Tom Yum soup which is my favorite. I got the shrimp and she got the veggie. Both soups were delicious and the lemongrass broth hit just right. We also shared the crispy salmon rolls which was really good as well. For lunch I did the street noodle and she got the hangover Lo Mein with flank steak. The drinks were unique and tasty, next time I would come for their reverse happy hour (which I only learned from seeing a poster in the bathroom) and try a different entree + dessert. I am not easily torn, but they have such an array of curry dishes and compliment them very well. The downside, it's no secret so getting a spacious table is unlikely. What I discovered last visit was the purple tao beverage made with Jasmine tea. It was really tasty and in a surprising way. I'm still in shock I had ot over coffee and woth no regret. They pushed together 2 tables so we could seat 9, and we got great service even on a super busy Thursday night. We ordered the drunken noodles (no protein) and I tried a fall special, the Phuket Chili Crab, almost like a pumpkin curry paired with fried soft-shell crab and rice. So good. Met my friend here for happy hour - this served as a midway point between Baltimore and SE DC. It's a super cute space with a lot of character. Some friends took me to Dok Khao a month or so ago and it has become my favorite Thai place since. I have ordered take out so many times since I visited the place the first time but when we ate there we had tried the gyoza, crab rangoons, curry puffs and spring rolls from the appetizers- the crab rangoons, curry puffs and gyoza are a must. From mains- I highly recommend the street noodles, it my favorite so far, it combines a nice amount of spiciness with shrimp/chicken and veggies inside. The dok khao pad Thai is a second favorite. My husband really likes the chicken cashew! The lamb curry is another great choice too! As far as the place goes- it has indoor and outdoor seating, we went when the weather was nice so we were able to enjoy our meal outside, plus it is located in a lively area of Colombia with many other restaurants and shops near so it's fun to walk around after eating. I recommendEd this place because she is vegan and I am vegetarian among other "arians" so it was a win for both of us. we start out with the tofu wings which were really tofu sticks with peanut chili sauce. I love these tofu sticks but they could have been a bit more crunchy since I like crunchy tofu. my main entree was red curry dish with vegetables, white rice and tofu. Delicioso! but I wish it was a larger portion because I'm greedy like that. A lively Thai restaurant with tasty and generous servings and creative drinks. We came at 8:30pm here on a Sat evening (Sep 2025), and found a nearly-full restaurant still busy from the evening rush. It's among other restaurants and establishments just south of Merriweather Park, fronting on a small well-lit greenspace where families were playing, yes at 8:30pm! You can park in one of the smallish nearby lots, or more-likely find a space in the tall free Merriweather garage a couple blocks away. I think we arrived just at the end of their busiest Saturday-evening hours. The small outdoor-patio was full, and the bright interior also looked packed, yet we were seated in minutes by the friendly hostesses. All of Columbia is here: at least two groups celebrating birthdays with a little bit of singing, extended families, couples, and some solos at the 14-seat bar. By the way, the bar-stools are backless. The restaurant was still brightly decorated for the summer with sea-green walls, clever stylized white parrot wall-sconce lighting, and beach-themed inflatables like beachballs, life-rings, and the occasional large smiley shark. It was a submerging roar of conversation with a lively background of club-style-music pulsing not-too-loud. There are soft quilted wall-lining seats, and otherwise mostly simple classic bent-wood bistro chairs. The menu is extensive, including quite an array of drinks and chef-specialties. We started with a fun flavorful $16 Aperol Spritz with a fresh sweet orange wedge and of course sparkling wine, and a $15 smooth and foamy south-Thailand inspired Chumphon: a crafted gin-sour with gentle elderflower and sour yuzu-fruit juice, topped with lightly-frothed egg white, and zinged with a bit of Monster BFC energy-adaptogen drink! Delicious refreshing beverages at reasonable local prices. We chose the lightly-fried-tofu version of a flavorful generous $19 Pad Cellophane of ephemeral cellophane noodles, onions and scallions and tomatoes, a little bit of eggs, and savory shiitake mushrooms. And an equally generous $26 very crispy thin-sliced duck with bright minty basil, bell peppers, and thick rich sweet sauce, in my case prepared perfectly mildly-spiced at my request. Both were full-flavored and luxurious. I think most of our conversation was about the food! And our servers were friendly, quick, polite, and very attentive. It was also surprisingly packed for a Thursday night. I started with the crab rangoons. They were tasty, but I felt like they were 90% cream cheese 10% crab. For drinks, I tried the Sip Like a Star. 10/10 for presentation and tasted great. Their drinks are pricey but worth it, so pretty!! I think this is my favorite Thai restaurant now. The decor is so cute inside but it's the food and drinks that are standouts. We came on a Friday night and it was packed. We had about a 30 mins wait before we got seated. Our server was friendly and great. We had time to review the menu while waiting and ordered our drinks first thing - Lycheetini for me and Spicy Daisy for him. Our drinks were so good! For food, we ordered the Fried Chive Cake appetizer and shared the Crabmeat Fried Rice and Street Noodles. Wow, everything was delicious. We didn't know what the chive cake was but it was so good! The dipping sauce it came with was great. The street noodles were a little sweet and the fried rice was simple but great. When my cousin was in town I brought her here and she said this was the best Thai she's had. On weekends it's busy but there's an option to add your name to a waitlist and they'll text you! Came here on Sunday at 7 pm and it was pretty crowded but my friend and I were able to get seated immediately! We ordered pad Thai and mango sticky rice. Both came very fast and was delicious. The portion of the mango sticky rice was pretty small but the pad Thai portion was very large. The service was good and our waiter was attentive and kind. The restaurant is pretty crowded, they really packed in the tables and it is very hard to get around. The bathrooms are in the back but are single stall so I had to wait. I love the interior design, especially the beach balls on the roof and the water fountain in the middle. The decorations really add to the experience. read more

Very popular Thai restaurant in the Merriweather District and always busy for a reason! The food is delicious. I've been several times and it never disappoints. The menu is expansive so there's something for everyone's taste. Same goes for the specialty cocktails. We've never made reservations; however, though they are typically very busy on the weekends for dinner, the tables turn quick so the wait is usually doable. You may also luck up and get seats at the bar where the full menu is also available. The decor is cute and fun too. Dok Khao will always be in rotation for us when craving Thai food. read more
