This is a fabulous family Italian restaurant in Burnham…read more It opened around six months ago, and has around 30 tables. But already it is worth booking, because it has already become so popular. And here's why. The food is fantastic. The menu is wide, including all the normal Italian dishes you would expect from a good Italian restaurant, such as a variety of pasta, pizza, meat, and a couple of fish dishes. The pizza is home made from scratch and cooked in a wood fired pizza oven. Made with fresh ingredients, both kids and adults love them. The pasta is also home made, with a good range of sauces, such as bolognaise, seafood and penne arrabiate. If you like lasagne, they make one of the nicest I have ever had. Huge portion and so delicious. Tonight, we started with octopus and aubergine. The octopus came with a tomato sauce, on a bed of curried mashed potatoes. The aubergine was baked in a cheese sauce. For the main course, we had steak with a pepper sauce and vegetables, served in an attract wooden slab. And a chicken baked on a creamy gorgonzola sauce. Although we did not ask for it, the restaurant thought roast potatoes would be nice with the meal, so they brought us a portion on the house. We finished off with sticky toffee pudding. Unusually, not too heavy, coming with ice cream and cinnamon sugar, a great way to end. The food was perfectly cooked, and tasted exquisite. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming. We went earlyish, so there were plenty of kids. The brought a very happy feel to the place. The staff were completely comfortable with it all. In fact, the restaurant is a place that seems laid back with just about anything. You can wear what you like, go for an intimate meal or go with a party of friends. The staff are always welcoming and friendly. The service was attentive without being overbearing, and warm. We have been a number of times. The meal generally costs between £30-£70 for two. Tonight, the meal cist £71 include bottle of Montpulcianno wine. Thoroughly recommended. If you go, you are in for a treat, with or without kids, alone or in a party. But you would be wise to book if you want to be sure you will not have to wait for a table.

A good range of dishes with a lunchtime daily special. Short but not too expensive winelist. Had a simple meal with chums. Mine was a fish main dish which was good quality and nicely cooked. Chums pasta also looked above average. Bread was very good but arrived with main course. We had a pud, but I only had ice cream so can't comment on other choices. They were fully booked for the following day's Valentine celebrations and the waitress spent lots of time putting up decorations. Useful in the area.

We waited over 45 minutes for our main course to arrive on a lunchtime when it wasn't very busy. I enquired as to where our food was several times, only to be abruptly told by the manager that "IT IS COMING". When it finally did arrive, only 2 out of our 3 dishes arrived. I asked where my wife's dish was and was told "IT IS COMING SOON". When my wife's dish did arrive (fusilli as pesto), the pasta was completely undercooked. This is a dish that should only take about 3 minutes to prepare but even after 50 minutes it wasn't cooked correctly. We asked if it normally took that long to wait for a Fusilli al Pesto dish and was told by the manager, "Yes it is normal because of the cooking time for the fusilli". This is of course completely ridiculous and a total fob-off. It should have taken much less to cook than my chicken in breadcrumbs dish and in any event even a moderately decent restaurant times the cooking of every dish for the table such that you start cooking the dish that takes the longest first in order that all the diners on the same table can be presented with their food simultaneously. The manager obviously has complete contempt for his customers and thinks it is perfectly acceptable to fob them off as if they were stupid. Well it didn't work for me and we will most definitely not be returning. There are far better restaurants in Beaconsfield. Unless you want to wait a lifetime for your food or have a sudden urge to be treated as if you are stupid then this is definitely a place to avoid like the plague.

The Italianness is quite over the top in my opinion. As an Italian speaker and someone who has lived and worked in Italy I was surprised how thick it is all laid on. Not letting on that I understood every word that was being said around the table was quite interesting, although nothing negative came out. A sentence like , this evening.. (English) abbiamo.. (Italian) some delicious (English) ..speciali(Italian again), followed by about 40 dishes reeled off in super heavy Italienglish that neither of us could understand nor remember. Then va bene? and off he went. I joked that it was like an episode of the Generation game as we were left comparing notes on what we imagined might have been suggested to us. was that scollops with minestrone? Turbot with Crab and mash? it all sounded wonderful but we had no idea which special was which. So we opted for safety off the menu. So over the following 2 hours or so an assortment of Brasaola, parma ham, parmesan, melon, rocket, duck, orange, Tagliata, garlic, chilli, spinach and the most amazing fried eggplant was presented to us for our dining pleasure alongside Gin, tonic and water. And it was all just magnificent. A true mediterranean delight. However this all doesn't come cheap. Situated as it is in one of the famed celebrity dormatory villages where daytime tv presenters live cheek by jowl with movies stars and captains of industry a place as good as this doesn't need to offer competitive prices to stay in business. So 2 course with a drink each and water, plus tip was a sniff under £100. I will definitely return, as we had a fantastic dinner. However I might need to save up a bit first! That's not to say it wasn't all worth it though. A good dinner, overall, with outstanding features. Though perhaps slightly less of the 'buona sera' would have made it just outstanding.

When you enter the restaurant, there are two dining areas: one near the front of the restaurant and closer to the bar and the other one further back. The area close to the bar gets a lot of foot traffic between the staff going back and forth to the bar and patrons entering the restaurant. So far the food has been pretty mediocre. I have ordered the ravioli al funghi di bosco and the spaghetti alla bolognese. The ravioli was yummy but i wish there was a bit more sauce that came with it. The bolognese was positively average. I felt like this was on par with hamburger helper. The goddess olives, which are available as a starter, are really good. I normally don't like eating olives unless they are on a pizza, but these olives taste practically buttery. Zizzi's also has a seasonal beer selection. It's nice to taste relatively fresh beer from Italy that I'd never heard of before. I had the Amarcord La Gradisca beer and was pleasantly surprised. The wait staff are friendly and helpful.
