We understand that working in a 'service environment' is not easy. Some customers take service folks for granted. Customers need to know that checkers stand for long hours and are paid minimum wages. One should not assume that since you're paying for your groceries, you should stand back and watch while checkers bag your groceries and check you out with a smile on their face. There was a person in front of me who decides to talk on the phone while the checker bags the groceries, wait for the credit card, and hand the receipt over with a smile. Aubrey did just that on this date. She is the epitome of good customer service. Aubrey's relaxed and friendly attitude is the reason we enjoy grocery-shopping at this Grocery Outlet.

Melissa, the General Manager, always greets customers with a smile as soon as they walk in and makes sure they can find everything they need. You can tell she genuinely cares about providing great customer service and wants everyone to have a positive shopping experience. Whenever the store gets busy and the lines start to build, Melissa is quick to step in and make sure customers are taken care of as efficiently as possible. The store is well-stocked, and has such a welcoming atmosphere thanks to her leadership and the amazing team. It's refreshing to shop somewhere where the employees truly care about their customers. This store is large. Seasonal items are always stocked on the left side of the store and there are at least three aisles depending on the season. The first thing you notice before getting into the women's bathroom door is an intense aroma of a…read moreputrid combination of feces, urine and possibly a week's old baby diaper. I was not planning on using the restroom facilities at this store, however, due to a new medication I was surprised with an immediate urge to pee. Upon getting through the door, and catching my breath from the stench, I rushed to find the first open stall. I began to unzip, and THANK GOD, Iooked back before sitting down! The toilet had "remnants", of the last person who used it, almost over flowing the toilet and on the toilet seat. Now, I did what anyone else would have done half pulled up my pants, clenching my purse, made sure the coast was clear and ran to stall #2. LOW and BEHOLD, almost comparable to #1, but worse. I "jumped" stalls again and ended up in the handicap stall. The best thing I can say about this stall is that there was NOTHING in the bottom of the toilet, HOWEVER, there was all over the floor in this stall (the flies swarmed the stall. Immediately upon exiting the handicap stall, I took pictures to show the manager. As I exited, I realized there is a HUGE janitorial closet, directly across from the bathroom. I found the manager and explained. I also showed her the pictures of the bathroom, her response was, "I hate having bathrooms here, if it was up to me, I would just do away with them." Her lack of concern or empathy, motivated me to leave my cart of about $200 worth of merchandise at the end of the aisle and promptly leave.

Very kind! She tried to help me find them and that was appreciated. Unfortunately, they have Haribo candy, but do not have Haribo berries. I have been a customer of this Dollar General location for quite some time and was surprised to…read morelearn that I had apparently been banned from the store. To this day, I have never been provided with a clear explanation, written notice, or any specific reason for the ban. What made the situation especially frustrating was the lack of communication and consistency. On a previous visit, I was told by management that I was not banned, only to later be informed by other employees that I was no longer welcome in the store. As a customer, I believe transparency and professionalism are important, and I did not feel either was provided in this situation. I understand that businesses have the right to refuse service, but customers also deserve to know why such a decision is being made, especially when they have done nothing wrong. My review is based on a single employee that spread rumors and lies, and also on the manager and overall handling of the situation. I hope Dollar General will review its policies regarding customer communication/customer service and ensure that future situations are handled professionally and respectfully. I also would suggest that Managers don't lie to your face.
