Then after about 8 minutes she called for someone to come to a price check... more waiting... about 10 minutes or so still wasn't moving. Someone else finally came to open another register, no move with a purpose.

You can pretty much buy half-price dry goods that are almost, just barely, or long since past the expiration date. For T.P., laundry soap, and last-forever Twinkies, this is a spot that can save you some money. Much of the food looks perfectly fine to me. Well within date, undamaged, and clean. Wifey isn't big on eating past-date stuff. Me, if it's nearly spoil-proof stuff like dry pasta, granola bars, specs, etc, it's sometimes worth saving a buck to get something that expired last week. I kinda dig these places. It's like a challenge to find stuff I'd normally use and save money. Unchecked, I can be like your crazy Aunt Gert at a yard sale though. Buying things I've never wanted and won't see again until Aunt G. and I host our own yard sale. What's hard about these places is that, unlike your neighborhood grocery, you can't usually run down your grocery list and come here knowing that what you desire is here today. Everything is marked with a date, the longer its been there, the more discount the item has. As you enter you will find a sheet of paper that has the dates on it and shows you how much of discount you will get. I have found many things deep discounted and I love to shop here. I have found everything from my favorite designer condition in a large bottle (score!) to my big screen T.V. It does have a very "flea market" vibe to it, but I don't mind! They get a lot of Target things along with dented items and broken boxes. You have 30 days to return whatever you purchase in case it doesn't work! I love Bargin Hunt and consider the Maryville location my favorite.

They had all sorts of random…read morestuff, including some really great items, at great prices and with the setup that the prices start dropping after it's been on the shelves for 30 days. Now that the company has opened up so many stores, I think the "good" stuff is getting spread around much thinner. There are still the occasional good bargains that show up, but not nearly as often, and I've started noticing them putting FUTURE dates on their tags. Everything is dated on the 1st, 10th, or 20th of the month, so I can get if an item dated, say, 9/20 gets put out sometime after 9/10...but when items are being put out with a date a month (or sometimes more!) in advance, it seems a little disingenuous to advertise prices go down after they've been there for 1 month when that clock doesn't start for some time to come. Admittedly, this location isn't *quite* as bad about this as the Knoxville location seems to be, but it is still a bit of an issue. They are still a great place to find occasional clothing bargains (my wife frequently finds decent items that have reached 90% off the marked price), but they've not had as many cool electronics and gadgets, which I am generally more interested in.
