When my niece and I visited this store today, we spent a fair amount of time going thru all the clearance bins outside near the front door. We then shopped a little inside too. Upon checking out, we were told that almost everything we selected was regular price! No sale, no discount! I explained we got these items outside in the clearance 70% off bins, where there were more of the same items we selected. The checker said she can't give us the clearance price. When I said that by law she must, she replied "oh, we don't do that here." I refuse to spend my time and money at a place that cares so little about its customers!

I am utterly disgusted and appalled by my experience this evening at Dollar General. My sister in…read morelaw and I were simply going to grab a tub of ice cream to enjoy our Friday evening. When we got to the counter to be checked out, a worker with the name "Carlton" walked up to check us out. He had terrible body language, looking pissed off that we even existed. We stood there feeling awkward and uncomfortable. As he scanned our items and we paid, he was loudly sighing and rolling his eyes. He was also giving us very nasty looks. The only words that he said to us were "Receipt?" and we grabbed our receipt and left. I think I am mostly upset because we did absolutely nothing wrong and were being treated like crap. I will not be going back here.

I'm always surprised at the variety you find there. I buy some items there because they are cheaper than even walmart and just as good! The staff has always been friendly and helpful.
