We have gone here a couple of times on our way back to Waco after eating at the burger and wok in…read morevalley mills. If you are expecting big city selection and prices you will be disappointed. It appears to be an express and not a regular grocery store. It is a cross between a standard grocery store and a convenience store. There is way mother of a selection than the standard convenience store and a lot more quirky products than most traditional grocery stores. For instance there are more refrigerated drinks here. A bunch of 20 oz sodas coffee drinks sport drinks etc. They sell briskets and apples etc like a regular store. We enjoy the store. It has a very clean bathroom customer service area like a regular grocery store and a deli hot foods area and has some tables to eat your foods at. We really enjoy going here.

Definitely not an autism-friendly store…read more There is friendly and there is whoever the hell is at the Chicken Express lane. They will rope you into a conversation whether you want to are not. They are extremely overwhelming and not ASD friendly at all, which makes it very weird for me. On a few occasions, the clerk yelled HOWDY as I walked past with headphones on. Even as I was walking away, he was still talking to me. I did not want to talk to him and he did not take the hint. I was very overwhelmed and did not want to mention I had autism, but he refused to read the room and acknowledge my intentions. You'd think wearing headphones would be more than enough to clue in on this guy that I do not want to talk to him. On other occasions, he called me "Big Boy". I told him not to call me that, but he still insisted: "Sure thing, Big Boy!" That's my nickname now. He insisted that it's a compliment: "You could be a linebacker!" I'd like to imagine that he thinks I'm joking and that he completely misread my tone. I'm not, and I do not appreciate my weight being at 50 decibels whenever I order their food. This store is very loud, obnoxious and rude, and I hate coming here. They really need to reconsider who they hire or train their staff to make their store more autism-friendly.
