I was aware that many Amazon products that are returned get sold to liquidators, so I entered the store with expectations of pretty competitive pricing. What I found was a pretty broad collection of cheaper-quality products at, what seemed like retail or near-retail prices. In spite of signage assuring me otherwise, the discounts that I saw just quite didn't rationalize the purchase price for me. After all, some of these products may even be defective Amazon returns and the savings just weren't substantial enough to take that risk. While the products may indeed be acquired through a liquidation sale, or Amazon palette auction model, the price that consumers like me see doesn't quite reflect that. It feels like someone's making a handsome markup here.

But, and this "but" is serious. While we were there a woman entered not wearing a mask. No staff member asked this woman to wear a mask or why she was not. She proceeded to walk through the store again maskless;. At the cash area, she was behind me and I asked her "where is your mask" Her reply was "if you did any research you would know I do not have to wear a mask and neither should anyone else" I thought oh great a conspiracy follower and did not respond. But what bothered me was as I was leaving the store the cashier said to thid lady in my hearing "that was a good answer you gave to her". I have no problem with personal beliefs, having said that I am extremely high high risk. What bothered me most was this employee is purposely not maintaining the Health department and Ministry of health regulations to help stop the spread of this deadly virus therefore putting others at risk. I feel she should have approached this customer and at least asked where her mask was and with a nonmedical exemption answer reminded this customer of the rules every business is supposed to follow. I have been in medicine for over 40 years, have seen lots of noncompliant humans. I don't have time to change minds if they are ignorant to this pandemic. But I do not wish to frequent an establishment that does not comply to recommended health department advice that we are all supposed to follow. I think this establishment needs to instruct their staff to keep their opinions to themselves and help us as a community ensure the safety of their clients. The odd occasion that I do visit is on a Saturday or Sunday, I could've been unlucky. You do have to go up to the front counter to open boxes if you want to see what's inside (some boxes are obvious but others are not so clear). You can also test electrical products by plugging it in. I wish when they reseal it, they at least label the box to let the next person know what's inside so if they're not interested, they don't waste their time opening it. Just be aware, things that don't work are thrown back in the bin but the staff would let me know if they recognize what it is or if it works before I attempt. This month I peeked in and found some great finds like a neck massager retailing at $50-60 for $20 and today, I've found Coop pillow for $20 completely sealed and unused! What a score 10% of the retail price! There are other Amazon pillows there too but I think people didn't know about this brand so they passed by it. This pillow is great, at the top end of pricing and highly recommended on Reddit. I also have one myself and enjoy it (not the cooling one though so this Eden one would be great for the warmer months). Do I need another one? Probably not but it is the thrill of the find, that keeps people coming back. The neck massager works well and I have it to use while I relax on my couch.

When my daughter asked if they were hiring her response was, "You're not who we're interested in." If that wasn't bad enough, the look and her body language was unnecessary and disgusting. Whoever you are (and I hope she's this), you should be ashamed of yourself. And so should five below for having such a nasty employee. Unfortunately, I had to put one star or I wouldn't have been able to express myself.
