There are a good amount of gluten free organic options here. Dairy free milk if needed. Cereals, nut butters, cookies, snacks, crackers, chips. It was of course insanely expensive... but that is island shopping. Be prepared anywhere is $10 for a box of cereal. It was also $10 for a bar of chocolate. Pretty wild. Way overpriced, limited selection, poor quality produce. We bought a box of pasta which turned out to be full of weevils :( and peaches which were rotted inside. Disgusting! Save yourself and go to Starfish or Mid Way Market instead. read more

I can sum this little market up pretty quick: convenient but expensive. It's like a small grocery store, they have a decent supply of things. Only thing I bought here was a 6 pack of Hard seltzer that is made on the island cause I thought that was fun; it cost $15! There weren't many cashiers (I only saw one) but there was no line. They have produce here, plus a dairy section in addition to your standard grocery store stuff. What helped us specifically is we were staying next door at Dolphin Suites (owned by the same folks), and there was no parking available at 5p on Saturday when we came back from the national park. We ended up parking at this market for about an hour, the owners of the place said that was fine and they'd make sure no one towed us. Last note: this place is located very conveniently close to the docks. Actually if you come from car dock, you'll pass it to get to the "downtown" area with restaurants and shops. read more

Although not a SUPERmarket nor cheap, it is very useful. Those who complain about those working there forget that they are the guest. Guest should be appreciative. If not they should stay at a 5 Star Hotel and continue having the elitist attitude. I've had both choices, I'm happier at Westin St John and appreciate Dolphin with the close grocery store read more

Good local grocery store in Red Hook. You can get almost anything that you need here except bags of salad. Their salad selections are in bulk and very large. We would never eat a large bag like they sell but besides that it's a good place to shop. It's more expensive than other grocery stores but it's very convenient. read more

These markets are AWESOME. The one we went to on Southside Road was very nicely stocked and had a great selection despite the small size! We went back to these smaller markets every day versus the other larger grocery store in Cruz Bay because they hands-down had a better selection of everything except seafood/meat. Be prepared for your wallet to take a hit, but just remember you're on an island and everything is expensive! read more

I asked very kindly with much respect the same question (excuse me, could you please tell me where I could find the coffee) to at least three of their employees and they were totally unwilling to help and dismissive. If I could give zero stars I would. I understand the prices are high because we are on a tourist island, but that doesn't give the employees the right to be rude. Items are not marked and when you ask, you are given smart ass rude answers. The young lady at the counter was nice, but the male employee that was working on August 13th 2023 was the rudest employee I've ever encountered. He obviously hates his job and it shows. Hi ... be careful of Dolphin Market ... bought some items there and after an issue of food poisoning found out after that many were past their expiration date ... when I brought this to the attention of the store management later there was no response or need to correct. It's not necessarily a bad market, just don't expect a full and robust grocery store. Local produce is picked over like mad by the end of the day, leaving only imported (and therefore excessively expensive) fruits, roots and veggies. Processed juices run $6-7 for a half gallon, and there's an extensive selection of equally jacked up dry goods. Beer and booze, on the other hand, are reasonably priced (sixers of Murrica's most popular top out around $9-10). Expect a grocery store, feel a little let down. Expect a convenience store on steroids, and, well, you've got it. read more

Very unpleasant experience each time I have come hear. Place is run down, parking spaces poorly marked with sun bleached signage, poor property maintenance which definitely translates to neglect indoors as well. Extremely overpriced compared to other nearby stores. read more

Based on reading other reviews, let me add: 1) your on the islands, 2) you're a guest into another culture. A culture that moves as a slower pace in life, and expects a "Good afternoon, how are you?" before you launch into your requests/demands. Yes it's more expensive than on the mainland. Consider the logistics of having everything brought in on ship or plane to St. Thomas, then shipped over to St. John. Plus, they're running a business for profit, not for your pleasure. Yes the selection is less than what you'd find on the mainland. You're on the islands. Still this is the best selection that we've come across. Great selection. Probably the best on the island. Friendly staff at this location. But totally false advertsing! In every guidebook/map of St John's, it says that St John's Deli and market is the place for organic, vegan, gluten-free, lactose-free food. Well it is basically just a grocery store with hardly any items of that sort. And extremely expensive. read more

Initially felt uncomfortable shopping here, however, after frequenting the store they began to recognize us and we're actually very friendly. One night after our dinner at a nearby restaurant we stopped in rather late. I got to see first hand what these folks have to deal with on a daily basis. There were several groups obnoxious tourist digging through the shelves with no regard for the effort it took to stock and maintain the store. One lady was mangling bags of chips as she swatted at one after another trying to find what she wanted (they were perfectly neat prior to her destroying the well stocked shelf). I also felt like the lone cashier was outnumbered in her efforts to watch out for shop lifters. I sensed that there doesn't seem to be a problem with petty theft on St John, except from the people visiting. We liked the store. Like anything else, the prices were high. However, that's the way it goes anytime stuff has to be shipped in to an island. I will say that chicken and fish were very reasonably priced. However, chips and snack type foods were expensive. read more

If you are in the Coral Bay end of the island definitely use this grocery store. It is tucked in behind Aqua Bistro restaurant. It is super clean and has a great selection of quality food. read more
