Lindsay Carpenter has been so patient and I literally counted just this year alone to date, I had emailed her 40 emails about 2 separate apartments regarding and what it involves since roommates are involved. Each time she responds right away and with grace and never rude despite I had so many questions. My daughter lived here for one school year already and we feel Domain is clean, quiet, and safe. Lindsay is very professional and responsive. We appreciate working with someone who is present to address any concerns immediately. So overall this is why we now recommended someone else to apply for the coming school year and our other daughter is planning to live at Domain for the senior year. We rented an apartment in College Park for almost 3 years and prior to moving in (August 2022) we noted in our application and rental forms that the stovetop was damaged. We provided time-stamped pictures as well to show the issue. The stovetop was never fixed and Domain has charged us now ($225) for the repair. As frustrating as this scenario is, there has been NO response from Domain despite repeated phone calls and emails. Domain is a nice place but they have treated us with ZERO respect on this issue after dutifully paying them $2000 a month for almost 3 years. I would NOT recommend Domain to anyone who needs a place in College Park as their unwillingness to respond to a simple issue shows a fundamental lack of respect to a paying customer. read more

The elevator was recently broken for a week straight, then broke again days ago with no repairs or communication from management since. It breaks frequently and is not fixed promptly. Residents navigating from the lobby/resident parking garage generally had a stairwell as an alternative to the elevator, but the automatic lock is broken such that at least one floor's door cannot be opened from the stairwell. Residents were not notified of the unusable stairwell, and were actually told the elevators were functional as of 11/29. In addition to this major accessibility issue, the automatic door in the lobby doesn't work, and hasn't worked properly for years. Other community spaces, such as the mailroom and resident garage, still lack automatic doors. Just a day after noticing and posting that the stairwell access is blocked, the building alarms went off again and have once again been sounding for a gratuitous length of time. read more

The area is nice and the apartments are fair. What's unacceptable is how often the garage doors are broken and how often erroneous fire alarms will go off (and sometimes they will last literally 4+ hours, a nightmare if you have pets). Minor annoyances like the outdoor courtyards being randomly closed some day, but the fire alarm and state of disrepair of facilities (including elevators and trash chutes), for the price you pay to live here is ridiculous. Unenforced "no parking or stopping at any times" in front of the single remaining functional garage exit makes it so Uber Eats/doordash drivers love to block you from entering or leaving your home. Seth, one of the leasing agents, is a helpful and nice guy though. read more

Pros: nice looking lobby and units, allows dogs. Nice looking courtyard. Cons: Apartment literally falls apart. "Normal" wear and tear is up to domain to decide, and apparently it never is. Staff (Daniel?) treats you like you're annoying him and he's doing you a huge favor when you need to visit the leasing office for anything. They take a long time to repair the building (elevators, garage door, sort of accessible entrances). When the main AC broke and the temperature inside the building was over 80 degrees, they declined to fix it because the outdoor temperature was supposedly below 80. The pool opens right after you finish the school year and go home. Rent is expensive with huge increases, and there are many additional fees. There is a smoke smell in the stairwells. read more

Domain college park is extremely predatory in its billing practices. Many reviewers report erroneous fees upon move out beyond the non-return of their security deposit, especially being charged for normal floor usage. Domain relies on the legal battle not being worth it for those tenants, who are mostly students. Additionally, many subscription fees for amenities conveniently cannot be cancelled online. So you can talk to the 24-hour concierge service, but a lot of the time there's no one there. If you manage to talk to someone, expect to be repeatedly redirected and/or insulted. Some positive reviews mention a "Miguel" but I don't think he works here anymore. read more

This is the fourth year that I live in Domain. The Service of the management team is worse. When I experienced the noise from upstairs neighbor, the manger just gave me a number instead of solving this issue or communicating to the neighbor. What a funny thing! The cost here is a little steep at first thought, but for the ammenities and the absolutely amazing staff, ranging from: 1) The custodial staff (that can clean your apartment for a great rate) 2) The building engineers that seem to know everyone in the building and are always willing to talk and help with any problem possible or even if they can't help you for whatever reason they will explain why instead of just saying no, and sometimes on occassion they will try to find a way around to do what you have requested 3) The24/7 concierge staff that are sourced from outside contract and are absolutely amazing 4) Lat but not least, the amazing management team and leasing center team that know all residents and are always checking to make sure everyinthing is satisfactory and if any changes need to be made they will make sure that happens I just wish it was a bit more affordable, but I definitely feel I get more then what I actually pay for in this building and that is why I continue to pay for it and live here!!! My wife and I lived at domain for a year and a half, had to move out when we bought a house. The staff is very professional and helpful, especially! Sam. She really wants to work with the tenants and put them in the right apartment. We got everything we wanted when we signed the first lease and second lease. The maintenance folks are always onsite and take care of any issues within the hour. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. I've lived at many apartment buildings in different states, the staff takes you for granted after a year or so. This wasn't the case at domain, everyone was very prompt. They really want the tenants to be happy and enjoy living there. read more

I've lived here for 3 years and can think of very few things to complain about. I actually love it and don't want to leave. The pros far outweigh the cons. If you work for the University or at another company in the area, or even in DC, consider living here. Pros: Within walking distance if you work at UMD. I can walk to my office in 10 minutes, or to the Metro in 20. The Purple Line will eventually go right by this building. Quiet location - while it is right next to the campus, it is in an area that sees low foot and vehicle traffic. Think about it - you are not right next to Route 1 which is constantly busy and loud. The only crimes that have occurred in the immediate area were an armed robbery and shooting at the Marriott hotel (extremely rare event) and an indecent exposure incident nearby at Tawes Hall. That's it. There are seriously a bunch of churches surrounding this building. Inexpensive, reserved garage parking ($60). This is a big benefit because I don't have to worry about finding a space. Friendly office staff. Sam was my leasing consultant when I moved here 3 years ago, and she is still here. There were a few times I had a concern with a neighbor or a rent pricing issue, and Sam worked with the property manager to correct each one. While I was recovering from surgery this fall, Marla, Miguel, and Sam all offered to help in any way they could with bringing packages to my apartment, etc. A few times a year, the staff buys a catered dinner or cookout for everyone. 24/7 concierge. If I need a guest parking pass, someone is always there to get it for me. If I have a noise complaint, it is taken care of. This benefit is hard to find in market-rate apartments in the area. Very well designed architecturally in the lobby and common areas. Even the units are designed well. Common areas are cleaned thoroughly every single day. The new package locker system is so easy to use. They send a text when your package arrives and you have 3 days to pick it up to avoid paying a fee. If you're on vacation or traveling or something, you can set a vacation preference so that you are not charged. While I liked picking up my packages from the concierge before, this actually works out better and lets the staff focus on other things instead of tons of packages. Cons: Relatively frequent fire alarms. Once, someone pulled the alarm, and just recently there was an actual fire in someone's apartment which set off sprinklers in surrounding apartments. Not a good situation, but outside of management's control. Yes, there are some students here, but I haven't had a problem with them. There are actually quite a few non-students, which is who this building is actually marketed towards. I can OCCASIONALLY hear my neighbors, but not frequently. I used to have a very loud upstairs neighbor who stomped around and threw a couple loud parties, but management dealt with it and they quieted down. I've never heard the neighbors next to me. It's apartment living, so you might hear someone occasionally, but Domain is a step above other apartments in terms of sound insulation between units. The flooring in units looks nice but is really terrible, and nearly disposable to the point where I see maintenance crews tearing it out and replacing it after some residents leave. I don't understand why some residents have screen doors, but others (like me) do not. They started adding these recently because the Juliet balconies had no screens, which make them difficult to actually use. Final rant in response to an earlier review: A note to those who are students and complain about the staff's attitude to you if you do not pay your rent on time. If your name is on the lease, pay your rent on time, or management can take actions against you per your lease. One of the reasons this building is so well maintained is the staff does not have tolerance for frequent noise complaints and non-payment of rent. Also, yes, there is no furniture here, because this is a market-rate apartment building, not student housing. If you don't like it, then go live at Terrapin Row or Landmark where they (over)charge by the bed, not by the apartment, and each roommate pays their own rent. read more

Great Place to live. Staff is absolutely the best and as I am looking for other places to live I realize that they spoil us here. Free printing has saved me so many times and location is right next to campus. The gym is conveniently located on the ground floor and is newly renovated. My partner and I lived here for nearly three years. The study rooms, pool table, etc. are great amenities but a it seems like a lot of it is for show. The apartment complex has definitely gone down-hill since we first moved in. The main elevator was broken for nearly two weeks, which was especially inconvenient for all of the folks moving out (though this didn't directly affect us). When we moved apartments two years ago, we were initially given an apartment that smelled like cigarettes and had cigarette ash on parts of the kitchen. After a long debate with the management, we finally were able to move to another apartment. The building clearly looks great on the outside but with all of the new luxury apt complexes in College Park now like Terrapin Row, I probably wouldn't choose the Domain any more if I were moving to College Park now. read more

I loved Domain College Park. My apartment (I chose a corporate apartment set up - fully furnished 1 bedroom, all bills included) was spacious, nicely laid out, had plenty of light, and everything was up to date/modern. The main floor of the building is fabulous - it's where all the staff is along with two community computers, an awesome printer, lots of comfy seating, TVs, bathrooms, and a beautiful fireplace. The ground floor/basement is a huge bonus - pool table, several nice private individual study rooms, and MY FAVORITE, the amazing gym which they just completely redesigned, replacing all the equipment with impressive, high-end stuff (e.g. Peloton bikes). Domain College Park has a fantastic staff - Marla, Miguel, Sam, Max, Luis, and several others who are warm, friendly, and are always there to help. The cleaning crew has the entire building looking great every day and I never waited long at all for a maintenance issue to be resolved. Parking is all covered, which is awesome, and only the residents have access. Finally, especially because there is a staff member working 24/7, I always felt safe at Domain College Park. Just want to tell everyone what they're going to find out: this place is in a terrible location. If you go to their web-site, it implies that you are walking distance to grocery stores, movie theaters, shopping centers. You're not. The closest grocery store is miles away. The only movie theater is in Prince Georges Plaza. And there's a shopping center about a half-mile away but it's just a bunch of chain restaurants. What you are close to are campus stores, which sell things like cereal and milk but no fresh produce or meat. So in addition to *not* providing affordable housing, they are not being accurate about the surrounding area. read more

I've lived here for a while now and I have to say it's really nice I read some of the hate reviews on here and all I can say is blah yes it is expensive and some of the amenities aren't yet available but the ones that are are really nice and well kept compared to my option this one was great the apartment is really nice kinda dark but to be honest most are you gotta add your own light the place is kept clean and as a UMD student it's perfect for me in terms of walking to campus and it has it's own parking garage along we a charging station for electric cars. There are always fun events going on were you can get a nice drink or some food and the staff here is very polite and helpful not only with your apartment needs but they will go above and beyond to help you with stuff you should actually do yourself.In terms of location I believe they want to attract people that have some kind of affiliation to the school, but stores and stuff are about 5-10 minutes down the road not really far at all but if you want stuff like wal mart there are none in this area at all but there are 2 targets 2 marshals a tones of food place and quite a few grocery stores and my favorite Ikea. Now the apartments are Pricy but for a one bedroom apartment it's defiantly the cheapest compared to others in the area I pay about $1550 for rent with my utilities, internet and TV I pay about $1800 and I have one of the bigger one bed one bath apartments, and if you ever one to upgrade to a bigger apartment all you do is move not lease cancellation fees or anything, but don't take my word or anyone else's word for it come and see it then go see everything else. read more

Before moving here, I checked out other graduate student options and this was the best one. College Park is a university town, and the areas surrounding the university are just not that nice. I've been here a month and here are the details: Garage/parking. 5 stars. Fine and secure. You could have a fancy car if you wanted one and not worry about it. Cost is about 50/month. Repairs/maintenance. 3.5 stars. I've had three minor issues and all three were taken care of within one day. I wouldn't say the guys doing the repairs are fantastic, but they can do the job. Apartments. 4 stars. They are a bit dark because they have dark floors, relatively small windows in at least one room, and one of the walls is painted dark green. Having your own full size washer/dryer is nice and there's decent closet space. Kitchen is fantastic. I hate cooking and for some reason I mind it way less in this kitchen since it's huge and makes it easy to keep clean. Gym. 4 stars. Gym is somewhere between a good hotel gym and bad apartment gym. It's definitely nice for a building gym, but I still think you're stuck joining a gym or using UMD if you want decent equipment. Location. As mentioned, you have to drive to go shopping and do just about anything. Perhaps the better place to be is the other side of campus where the restaurants and stores are, but the Architecture School is three minutes away and the business is across the street. It really depends where you need to be. I like that it's quiet and not on US1. Amenities. 5 stars. This place is swanky. It's fancy on the inside with slick decorations. It's kind of fun. Has a few nice conference rooms, a gaming center, lounge music, a pool table, and lots of flat screen TVs. Pool isn't open yet so I don't know about that, but there are two nice courtyards for BBQs. Who lives here. Some students, some professionals who like having a nice place to live who have nothing to do with the university, some athletes' families who train at the tennis center nearby, and some people who work for the university. It's a quiet place to live...not much partying. Staff: 5 stars. Fun, nice, cool, helpful. They couldn't be better. Issues. You have to take your garbage to the lobby. There's no trash shoot or garbage room on every floor. The fire alarm also seems to go off a lot and it's "loud." Overall, there's really not much here except the university and I'd tell anyone with the option to live in DC or a more vibrant community to live someplace else, but for those of us affiliated with the university or Tennis center, this is by far the nicest option in College Park. read more

I don't live at Domain, but I did stop by, unannounced, for a tour of the property yesterday afternoon. First of all, I just want to give a shout out to Marla, the Comminity Director and Miguel, the Development Sales Director. They were so professional and friendly. If you're reading this, thank you! I didn't meet with Miguel for very long, but Marla's customer service skills were excellent. She ackowledged me right away and gave me a brief and informative tour of the property. She treated the residents that we encountered on the tour very kindly as well. The property is beautiful, modern and clean and the "smallest" 2 bed, 2 bath model that I was shown was very spacious in my opinion. I believe it's priced at $2400/month. Trash is an additional $10/month. Parking is also not included: $50 for first space, $100 for second. I did get the "college dorm" feel while walking around the property. All I saw were students with backpacks going to and coming from class. I'm in my mid-twenties so I feel like I'd enjoy a little more resident diversity, but if you're a perspective UMD student, this place would probably be awesome. I think I have to exclude this property from my list of potential apartments, only because it's too pricey for me and also because I felt like I was back at college. read more

We never moved in because of COVID-19. Weeks after we paid for the first month of rent, we get an email about a balance on our account. The employee (Miguel) that received the keys said everything looked good so we were confused. When we called, Miguel told us it was a carpet charge and that he would check it out (since there was no stain when the previous roommates left BUT Domain employees were entering and leaving) and call us if there was an issue. Another week goes by and we call since the charge is still there and they tell us that Miguel no longer works there and to talk to billing. We email billing and they tell us they don't know why the office told us to email them. We email billing and the leasing office again and never get a response. Poor communication and unprofessional. I know CP apartments are known to scam students, but I didn't realize Domain was a part of that as well. We also never received our deposit because a red spot on a carpet cost Domain about $400. read more

We have rented a lot of apartments in a lot of places around the US, and this is by far the best. It is clean, the front office staff are very nice and incredibly responsive, the pool is nice and never crowded... We rarely hear our neighbors, although you can hear street noise pretty clearly through the windows if you are on the street side. My husband attends UMD and it could not be more convenient. He walks across the street to campus and is in class within 5-10 minutes depending on the building. We are moving once he graduates to lessen my commute to work, but I truly wish we could stay. We have loved living here. All apartments have their issues, but this one has had very few. I would recommend living here if you are studying at UMD and want a bit of an older and more mature crowd. read more

Well, I'd love to be able to give this place a decent rating, but my first experience thus far has been just attempting to get information via their online chat box. I encountered some pathetic punk named Allen, who after asking me all the regular questions, "How soon would you like to rent "What type of unit are you looking for?" "Do you have pets?" told me to call the on-sight folks to ask them the same questions and he had no pricing information for me. I said, "Well, could you give me a ballpark, such as, currently they are renting for X, but the price in September when you need it cannot be guaranteed?" "No. Call this number for info." "Well" I asked, "Why does this company provide the service of a chat box, yet offers no information?" Punk says, " I already explained that to you." Then he proceeds to close the chat so that I can't tell him how ridiculous that all is. So, I appeal to you, the folks that might be on Yelp reading this that currently live or recently lived there. Can anyone tell me what they may be paying for a 1 bedroom unit? I don't want the heavy sales pressure from an on-sight agent, nor do I want them to have my number, hence my reason for going about it on their useless chat line. read more

The staff here is great. Always welcoming to any questions we have ever had, and always accommodating to any requests, we are very happy to call Domain our home at this time. The community here is driven towards young professionals, more than a college crowd. This is not the nearby Varsity building; there's no late night parties, or even loud noises, the building security stays on top of everyone respecting their neighbors. This building is brand new, opening only a few months ago, and the staff here is driven towards keeping it new. The cleaning staff is on top of their game leaving all common areas spotless every day. There's plenty of parking, a great gym downstairs, along with a pool table and big screen televisions to chill in front of. Also in the lobby they have a couple iMacs which have been great to us when we've needed something printed on the run out the door. A Tutti Frutti just went into the storefront, which has been a blessing and a curse for the late night crave of something sweet. Soon enough a Subway is supposed to open, along with a coffee shop. The building also generously hosts monthly get together parties, providing food and drinks for the adult crowd, it's been great mingling with the neighbors from time to time. Who doesn't love free drinks? I'm really looking forward to summer when the pool will be open. Entertaining some guests in the courtyard with some bbq and beverages poolside is going to make any Saturday here at Domain, a stay-cation. read more

After two years of living at the Domain, my husband and I relocated. As professionals we have relocated many times,however the parting with the Domain has been painful. Although we enjoyed living there,and working with Sam and Miguel, the end of our lease was extremely disappointing. During checkout, we were told that we had scratched 4 slats on the wood floor, the damage was minimal and easy to fix. Compared to others moving out, this is minimal we were told. Then, we were then charged over $800 to fix. Asking for an explanation has gotten us no where. I am referred to the "billing dept" which of course is a corporate office with no answers. The treatment of professionals like myself is ridiculous and condescending. Beware of living here. You will be lied to! Be careful students, if we were treated unfairly imagine how you will be treated. read more
